The beginning was "To Live is To Die" Cliff Burton's last song. They never played the whole thing until 2011. You should really check the studio version out. It's beautiful.
My fav ever Metallica instrumental. Epic and spin chilling.

I've seen 12 Metallica shows. 89 was my first show. I saw this tour . Yes I did! It's one of the most epic things I've ever seen. They are on another level from everybody else. And I've seen a bunch of metal bands back in the day

Something to absorb - Hetfield (lead singer) was 23 when Puppets was released and all other band members at the time were around the same age. SMH - early 20's! And literal masters of their trade - how did they accomplish that? How did that kind of skill and talent find each other, cause it was ALL 4 of them. This blows my mind. I've been listening to them for over 30 years and the music still takes my breathe away. Aside from the deep story the lyrics tell - they play those instruments in a way that will literally take you somewhere else. I have to close my eyes for a second and I am gone. Most metal fans and critics would say that their Master of Puppets album is a benchmark Metal album. In fact, the single 'Puppets' was "deemed 'culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant' enough for preservation in the National Registry by the United States Library of Congress in 2016, the first metal recording to do so. I mean, dang - who does that?!!? I've seen them in concert several times - actually in 1992, saw them 3 nights in a row in Denver. And all 3 nights was insane.
I was at this concert. This concert is what made me a Metallica fan!
They are really asum live. I have seen them once on Ullevi in Gothenburg (sweden 🇸🇪) 2019 ❤️

I remember that I watched this version few years back and was greatly amazed by their performance. Sadly, I didnt dig deep in Metallica until last summer when I was randomly listening to And justice for all album. That album got me into Metallica, its my favorite band.

You're definitely doing it the right way by reacting to studio then live, it really does make you appreciate the live versions more. 3 song suggestions , Frayed Ends of Sanity (live Helsinki) Outlaw Torn (Germany) studio version has to be unencumbered version and Justice for all (Seattle)

A masterpiece,..I remember When I was my first year ay the secundary school, here in Arica- Chile a small city in the limit with Perú and Bolivia..and my classmates, my brothers and sisters ,said about my musical preferences, like this " you are sick..!!¿ How do you listen that " Noises" ..those guys are sicks..they are under rules of satán or something like that..The ignorance it's something that about us, it's a real fact,.In this case it's to ignore others languages..others points of views. Awesome reaction your face expression..while you are hearing the song and recognizing the talents..of them..it's priceless. Thanks again Bro..keep it up with that way..!!

Seen the live several times, and I’m from the Seattle area. But, alas, I was not at this show. I was 17 then, and a huge fan, but I listened to my mother and saved the 40 bucks or so ( God, remember when a general admission ticket was under $200!?) towards a car....fuck, shoulda gone. Wrecked that piece o’ shit car anyway!
Lars took shit for years as being an overrated drummer, not buying it.
