    Nick quit his 16 year "career" as as a District Manager for Journeys shoes in August 2019, and while he worked to scale The Jump Off, he drove uber, sold trash that he found on the side of the road, and picked up as many odd jobs (like building swing sets) as he could.
    Then in late 2019, Nick hit "The Bounce House lottery" (nickglassett.c...) and when the pandemic shut everything down in 2020, he sprung into action and took that moment to make The Jump Off what it is today!

    I dont live under a bridge so no trolling, but we unvelcro the pool where the slide and pool meet. Then drain the water thru there. We revelcro when we wash the slide and its dry before putting it away that way it's ready when we deliver. The tarps, after we fold them inward from the sides, we then fold it in half lengthwise, but after we put a broom stick. Then we roll the tarp, one person gets each end the the stick, no one gets wet or full of mud. And in S NM 7/10 backyards we deliver to are desert ground. Lots and lots and lots of mud. For the high anchor points, we use drillable spiral stakes. We use 3" wide straps, w ratchets. We use carabiners to make sure there's no way the hooks can get unhooked. Say a customer turns off the slide to blow out bday candles, the strap hooks can become unhooked. W carabiners that won't happen. Company claims they each have 475 lbs holding power. I've tested them in 50 mph winds and have held up great. Of course we dont tell customers that. Instead we always tell the customer at 15 mph turn it off.

    We noticed that you never dry any of the slide before you drop it or even as you fold it pre roll. The left over water inside doesn’t cause mold or mildew? We always take the time to get the unit as dry as possible and it takes so much time. Just wondering how this works out for you ☺️ thanks Nick!

      So this one we took 4 miles down the road and set it up again for a party that started at 12pm. Just no need to dry it you know. We did wipe down the steps slide and pool at set up but quick. And no no problem with mold. We never ever dry out water units until the end of the season. No issues.

    I was bored, scrolling thru youtube. Thought id do one of my favorite things and thats watching waterslide videos. Seens this vid before but i hadnt noticed before that you only used one stake for 3 high anchors points! Wow. If that one stake fails buh bye waterslide. Each and every d ring needs to be staked, each and every high anchor or tether/strap needs its own dedicated stake. Your in LA which means you get a lot of rain, i imagine that soil has to b pretty wet and soft, and cant handle that many tethers for just 1 stake. Youre very famous in our industry bcus youre the only one that makes consistent content. You then have a responsibility to do thinhs correctly. Wanna be inflatable operators are watching.

    Nick great Videos! Will you please make a video tutorial showing an overview of how you use your Spreadsheet "Bounce House Business Plan"? Thanks. I am thinking about starting a small business with a couple of bouncers and a couple of wet dry combos. Fall is coming up so I will wait on the water slides. Thank you for all the information in your videos!

    Hi there! I am learning alot from your videos but wonder if you know.. am I allowed to use licensed (disney) inflatables in a commercial bounce house business? I want to rent them out but also have a location! I can't find the exact answer and thought maybe you'd know. Thanks in advance

    • @angieramirez5642
      @angieramirez5642 2 роки тому

      Yes, magic jump is the only company licensed to make disney inflatables. Tho lots of rental companies use knock offs. Risk vs reward.

    • @nick_o_glass
      @nick_o_glass  2 роки тому

      Yep you can! The manufacturer must have the license to make them though. Magic jump has a ton and they’re a great quality.

  • @brandonstark1867

    When you’re running everything on your own, how do you budget your time to drop and pickup each unit? Say you’re a side hustle, focusing on pushing units Saturday & Sundays.
    Is it reasonable to assume you could setup maybe 4units 8-noon then pickup four 6-10? Is that an over budget on time and customer contact or under budgeted?

    • @brandonstark1867

    • @nick_o_glass

      With this dolly you don’t need to because it has an electric brake, and you you actually throttle it forward when you rock it back and it’s SUPER easy. With a manual dolly, yes you’re right though!
