Nice, I'm packed up as high as I'm wanting to go with my packout system. I'm thinking of getting some more organisers, so I might get the reasonably new packout dolly for putting the other half on wheels too. And I'm sure the dolly would come in handy too...
I'm just getting started in HVAC and I got the wheeled tool chest and the 3 drawer tool box before I even knew what to expect. Now I have a Toughbuilt tool tote which works pretty well, but I'll eventually replace it with a Veto. The Milwaukee ones I mentioned rarely leave my vehicle now and I only use them to store extra batteries, power tools and large/extra/infrequently used hand tools. They're great for storage, but not-so-great for my trade (on the job site) haha.
The circle maker is used to actually cut holes in drywall. You first cut through the paper on one side, then do the same on the other side of the drywall. Then hit the finish side of the drywall with a hammer or even your fist, and suddenly you have a nice hole in drywall! I'd imagine it would also work for drop ceiling tiles, but I've never tried it.

I take good care of my tools also...i have the Packout also... it doesn't get as much action as my Rigid pro box which goes out daily but still mostly stays in my truck I use the 12v. Milwaukee for trim also....great set up!

Oh, and if you've not heard of the "pliers wrench" (by Knipex. Pronounce it however you like, haha), they are probably one of my favorite tools I've bought in the last few years. "Real tool reviews" does a pretty good job of going over and explaining them if I remember right. But maybe they're not good for your application(s). I keep finding them coming in handy for all sorts of tasks.
Thanks for the comment! I am familiar with the Knipex Pliers Wrenches. I actually own two or three pairs. I like them a lot. Lately, though, I've been enamored with the Eifel Geared Plierenches, which are the precursors to the Knipex version. Patented by Josef Eifel in 1916, and made in Chicago. I also own three or four pairs of those. They're available on eBay all day long for cheap. I buy them, clean them up, and put them back into service. I don't know why, but I get a kick out of using century old tools to ply my trade!

Was just talking about this in regards to LEDs on impact/drill drivers on various forums and youtube. Are we expected to believe that Dewalt is the only company capable of integrating three LEDs around the head/chuch of a power tool? A child could see the obvious design flaw and suggest the even more obvious solution to this (two more $2 LEDs of course). No, it must be due to pantents - legaleze nonsense. Fuck the end user, right? Lol. I don't want to have to void my warranty to make the lighting on my tools usable. Nor do I want to, or have the option to in most cases, hold a light with my other hand or in my teeth - or wear a headlamp - just to illuminate the fastener/work. That's what the led on the fuckin' tool is supposed to be for! Lol, useless. I laugh, but only out of frustration. Haha. Peace.
Let’s be honest, everyone buys the latest and greatest tools. Ten years from now, you won’t be running the same power tools. I do agree with keeping your tools nice and clean.

I'm also a Locksmith and Access Control Tech. Recently I've moved away from Locksmithing in favor of commercial Access Control. I make a lot more money. I also use the Milwaukee Packout system. But, the only box I have tools in is the bottom box. The rest are dedicated parts box's. All the tools I need are in my two bags. I use to have Veto bags, but I think there ugly, too heavy and way to expensive. I now use the Milwaukee Packout Backpack for my Locksmith bag, and the Milwaukee Packout Tech bag for my Access Control bag. I use the big Packout box for wire, conduit and larger tools. I have other smaller Packout boxes dedicated to connectors, misc commercial lock parts, residential lock parts, Access Control parts, ext. I take the boxes I need in that are specific to the job. Oh, I full agree about buying high quality tools. I spare no expense. All my hand tools are either Proto, Snap-On, Knipex, or Klien. My power tools are all Milwaukee Fuel. Even my lock picks are the best money can buy, Peterson, and Mulipick.
Great video. Excellent point about not beating your tools to death and then dragging them into a customers home or office. Grungy tools and filthy tool boxes and bags look bad because they are. Your idea to keep bit boxes and organisers in the Veto is excellent. Veto should ditch those useless bit pockets and make pockets or catches sized to these bit bixes from Bosch and Milwaukee. Best way to sort them. I would also like your opinion on the mid size Packout box. Would it hold tools like pliers and screwdrivers upright with an organiser of some sort? I am thinking linesman pliers, channellocks, 6 in screwdrivrrs. Thanks again. Great rig.
Thanks for the kind words! In answer to your question about the medium box, I don’t think it will handle tools standing on end. It is only 8.5 inches deep. I tried a pair of Channellock 430’s, and a Ratcheting Screwdriver, and neither would let the lid close with them standing on end. Hope this helps!
Tidy tools? The only time Ive seen an electrician get dirty is doing underground work; even after a remodel they look like they could go out for a birthday dinner
Nice set up! I would recommend a cool set of straps for all of your Auger bits. I don't like anything rattling or making noise in my tool box it would also prevent from getting damage. Keep it up....

wow alot of those stuff i have but i dont keep in a tool box... lolol....i just organized 200 item 5 gallon bucket of screws and nuts. i feel like a cheap canvas bag for your drill bits. on the middle tray
The PackOut is a beasts, but if going to fit this in a car boot the height of the handle when lowered is 26” or 650mm but if it’s the bed of your truck it’s ok.
I like your setup. The only thing I dislike( and this is not meant to insult you, but to demonstrate my OCD) is the drill bits loose in the box. I would like to find a way to better transport these so that the sharp ends and sides do not hit against each other.
During the man's commentary he suggests looking after your tools . A view I agree with , I had a colleague who treated his tools with total disrespect ..one day his 3 month old hammer retaliated . The guy had a broken eye socket cheek bone lost about 6 teeth and a fractured jaw . I brought the same make of hammer at the same time , mines perfect but then I look after my tools
I only use USA and German made tools - holds up a Spanish made wrench. I'm not really a brand loyalist, I do try to buy for battery compatibility though.

I am kind of confused by this video, you’re saying that you don’t take your packout on ruff-ins, but the only things that packout excels at soft tool bag storage (which you’re not using with your Vito), durability (which you don’t need if you’re not bringing it out on ruff-ins) and being the most expensive stackable tool solution. Storage; does pack out have a shop storage solution or a van storage solution? Health & safety; first aid kit, integration with dust extractor and I’m in VA much hotter than OH so a cooler is not a luxury item? Organization; Can you get different color boxes to reduce your cognitive load while working? Drawers; does your system offer them? Cart and trolley; can you get them? So I’d very much like for you to give me your opinion of why you think that the packout is Miles above the competition? I use DeWalt Tough System (need water tight and durable. Half the price of packout but definitely not half the quality.)on ruff-ins, and Bosch L-Boxx on trims, finals, power ups and in front of end-users.
for hammers i like a wooden handle cause it absorbs a shit load more then steal and fiberglass. also i would get a lighter head like 15 oz but its a use what i have so im suck with a fiberglass hammer too lolol. im waiting to get a nice wooden handle 15oz
Man!! how do you manage to keep tool organized. Every month I have to organize my tools cause when I leave the job site I just throw everything in the truck and leave.
i make my own first aid kit cause the stuff in there is crap.... a clean place...would be your emergency blanket as a station. second you need a a way to tie up a severed limb. then you need a bottle of disinfectant, perhaps a way to cartarize a cut and super glue to stop the cut from bleeding, sewing kit will be okay too but you have to get the right dissolvable string. then i would get your bags of clean towels and large guaze pads. bandaids. pain killers, asprin, headache meds, heart burn meds, a few extra doses of your daily meds for emergency. sprain ankle wrap. meals realy to eat. thats whats in my first aid kit :)

Im in the Erie, PA area. Probably not far from you at all. Good chance we probably know some of the same people/vendor/reps/etc. Im originally from Charlotte, NC. Much larger market there, with larger projects to boot. Were a small shop doing some good size projects in a small market. I love seeing other peoples setup/techniques and such. I keep the good tips I see and try to learn from others mistakes as well. You look like a true professional. I subscribed to the channel and hope to see more vids.
Scott’s Tool Thoughts they do have some duffle type bags but nothing like the veto with pockets for tools and all that. You could get the “pack-aid” which screws the bottom of the packout locking system to the bottom of your tool bag but I didn’t want to do that to a nice 2-300 dollar bag
Dang dude where did you get the step bit with the 1/4” hex from.??? How much use do you get out of it? (I probably use a step bit around 5-10 times a day.). Working on losing some weight in my first walk-in bag.

No sir. It’s a design flaw. I’ve had three or four of these. I’m aware of the replacement blades, and have changed them out a few times. The failure is not in the cutting function, but the crimping function. It leaves 2 or 3 of the gold pins on the RJ45 connector itself uncompressed repeatedly.
Alex Helie Absolutely! The thing is VERY well built. I’ve been working mine hard, it’s loaded down and very heavy, and the handle shows no signs of breaking down.
I would love to know how tall the handle is from the floor when the handle is in the down position. I hope that makes sence. I only have 20" of height in the back of my truck . And is the handle removable? Thanks for your time.
Female plumbing apprentice here lol, I have a lot of power tools for a level 1. 5 M12 batteries, 3 5 amp M18s and one 9 volt m18 Sawzall, hammer and impact drill, pvc pipe cutter. and the charger. This would fit all of them? and my mini drill bit cases
Channel lock doesn’t have a lifetime warranty I hade the same channel locks that went crooked from use and they told me to pack sand. Crap on channel lock I’ll buy anything else with a lifetime guarantee

The answer is simple. If you like what you do, your job - you will clean and oil all of your tools and staff. If you dreaming of something else, or "forced to earn money doing that kind of job - you will beat the hell out of tools.

Nope it’s a screw driver. There is a difference between a screwdriver and an impact and an impact is not always the best for trim work. Plus you get more control using the screwdriver then an impact
Totally agree with your statement about keeping tools clean if you can help it. Don't understand why some guys treat their tools like garbage.

A broke ended tape measure is also a nice tool for fishing down walls if you build a tip to guide.

I would put a rubber mate down on the bottom of your tool boxs so you want scratch the bottom of it I did not see that on your video that's a must

Milwaukee makes a straight jaw set of adjustable pliers that blows away channel lock. I was a fan too until I found them, never going back.
Harbor freight has actual wrench rings that fit a full set from 8mm-19mm

I do Van/Tool maintenance and organizing on the weekends.

Im in the Erie, PA area. Probably not far from you at all. Good chance we probably know some of the same people/vendor/reps/etc. Im originally from Charlotte, NC. Much larger market there, with larger projects to boot. Were a small shop doing some good size projects in a small market. I love seeing other peoples setup/techniques and such. I keep the good tips I see and try to learn from others mistakes as well. You look like a true professional. I subscribed to the channel and hope to see more vids.

Right? No one beats a Veto. Maybe if Milwaukee came out with some closed top bags...
Scott’s Tool Thoughts they do have some duffle type bags but nothing like the veto with pockets for tools and all that. You could get the “pack-aid” which screws the bottom of the packout locking system to the bottom of your tool bag but I didn’t want to do that to a nice 2-300 dollar bag
Dang dude where did you get the step bit with the 1/4” hex from.??? How much use do you get out of it? (I probably use a step bit around 5-10 times a day.). Working on losing some weight in my first walk-in bag.
Got the bits at Advance Auto parts actually. They work ok for what I do, but I doubt they would stand up to heavy daily use.

The Uk 🇬🇧 packout tool box has a stiff hinge so it clicks into place and no need to slide it forward.
On that RJ45 crimp tool. They make replacement cutters for them. No reason that tool can be reconditioned and continue to work for years.
No sir. It’s a design flaw. I’ve had three or four of these. I’m aware of the replacement blades, and have changed them out a few times. The failure is not in the cutting function, but the crimping function. It leaves 2 or 3 of the gold pins on the RJ45 connector itself uncompressed repeatedly.
If you put the pull out handle down the lids will stay open

I have the rigid box system. I've had it for about 3 months and the handle is already breaking down. Think this would be a better way to go?
Alex Helie Absolutely! The thing is VERY well built. I’ve been working mine hard, it’s loaded down and very heavy, and the handle shows no signs of breaking down.
I would love to know how tall the handle is from the floor when the handle is in the down position. I hope that makes sence. I only have 20" of height in the back of my truck . And is the handle removable? Thanks for your time.

Channel lock doesn’t have a lifetime warranty I hade the same channel locks that went crooked from use and they told me to pack sand. Crap on channel lock I’ll buy anything else with a lifetime guarantee

Nope it’s a screw driver. There is a difference between a screwdriver and an impact and an impact is not always the best for trim work. Plus you get more control using the screwdriver then an impact

Definitely not working if you're stuff that clean.
Some of the most organized people out there still get signs of wear on their toolies.
I have a veto bag like that one and its soooo heavy loaded with tools.
I have the OT-XXL, can confirm! It's about 80lbs at the moment and pretty much lives in the van.
You should get a digital butt set with off hook protection. Your 15 year analog set is obsolete.
