I carry some long tools such as hand saws 22 inch (550mm) and 24 inch (600mm) also some long spirit levels 78 inch (2000mm). I've yet to see a PackOut system that caters to these longer tools. Yes I had quite a few of the DeWalt tough system as well. I think the weight is better with the DeWalt but the latching system is terrible. That’s what sold me on the Packout system was the ease of moving them around and latching them. The rest is history!!

These are just your show tools right? They all look brand new not a scratch or speck or dirt on any of it. My tools are whooped lookin after a couple days of use. You must have another set of tools that you use for work. I will say there were a few things in there you have that taught me something new. Even using a 17 ft box truck with a regular cab, room is at a premium.
      My regrets.
#1 living in SE Ga it gets hot,and the PO cooler doesn't hold ice for a full day.
I freeze several water bottles and spread them among the rest inside.
Cases of water bottles are stored in the refrigerator, just have to remember to move them back in from cooler in the evening.
#2 bought several mounting brackets that I really liked for just a couple of crates, but they definitely lose to much space when you add more.
#3 rolling toolboxes of which I have 2,I keep belt sander in 1 and that is about it so it's a huge waste of space.
I plan to adapt a cordless ridgid shop vac into 1.
It begs a static tool ,vacuum, inverter like Dewalt (which I will not do),or an air compressor.
#4 the new $200 dolly, it's very flimsy feeling, takes 3 hands to fold it up, wheels are inboard which wastes room at the rear.
      Pro's
#1 the latch makes it 5x better than any other system except systainers, but 20x stronger than.
      # 2 accessories galore,and more coming.
Currently have everything except the ammo-can,and several open totes.
I use primarily m12 for space savings.
1 large box is the only box with foam,Makita x2 tracksaw/Makita barrel jigsaw and 8 batteries (xtra for x2 mitersaw and router) inside.

Now with the drawer packouts they need a XL box with a single drawer for the bottom of the stack for the oversized tools. I am looking at building a packout stack and going all drawers for the most part. I don't want to be unstacking anything to get to the stuff that is in them. Here is what the engineers at both Milwaukee and DeWalt say about chargers and batteries. Charge the battery in the charger that it came with. Older, less technological batteries will last longer when used in a slower charger. The new/newer batteries have the technology to communicate with the new/newer chargers which will keep your batteries "healthy"(?) longer.
Can it be a pain? Possibly, but if you have a color code, be it paint/tape etc. on the batteries and chargers, it isn't that hard to keep track of which goes where.

    • @packoutjunkie160
      @packoutjunkie160  4 роки тому +2

Honestly I think it stuck around from my old DeWalt 18 volt Ni-cad battery days. Quick charging them just killed them. I know the Lithium Ion batteries are different but I just feel that rapid charging anything isn’t the best way to go. With the large batteries manufactures are going the way of the rapid charge all the time. I guess time will tell. At $200 a piece for the 12ah batteries, I am not sure the risk is worth it. Just my opinion, no expert.
