Could I ask how you would recommend making a tunnel for my steering arm to pass through? I had to cut a hole in the fibreglass to allow the steering arm to enter but although not that important as it only goes into a well, I was wanting to make a fibreglass tunnel for it but there is lots of bends and shapes that would be required for the surface part before it enters into the tunnel.
Hi CFS, Like your videos on you tube, very useful and detailed, thank you for your contribution. While watching this video I was wondering what is the green base material of, where the model is attached on?
I can never get the mix right I only do small mixes and don’t even get 5 mins till it’s going off Say if I do 20 mils do I do 2 drops of catalyst. Coz I’m doing 0.5 in the syringe and don’t have any time to work with it I did 50 mils before with 1 on the catalyst and then it was not going off was sticky still so I went over it with epoxy resin
Sorry to inform you that did not mentioned what grade fiberglass mate use [first/light weight thjn mat] prior to second lair of 450 csm mat and ratio of MEKP using with. That is very important in a professional manner?
If your viewing this don't take what he says as gospel and watch other vids this is ok for basic techniques and fibreglassing but not anything else find better vids or research more plenty out there 👍

very thanks, this tutorial is very clear. i hope others can see this video.
Good video love the details
try mavcoat release if ya want the best. Part will fall out, Boeing buys it by the 55 gallon barrels.
Hi Paul ,If you use the mirror glaze release wax do you also have to use the spray on PVA release agent befor you gelcoat
No, but using pva gives an extra layer of protection. But, the mould will need wet sanding and buffing, because pva doesn't go on perfectly smooth
Brilliant tutorial, learnt a lot from that 👍🏻

How would you mold a hull that has a tumblehome in it? Is it possible to do it this way?
If it's a coble shape, you need to make a two piece mold. It's the only way.
Well done......What is the name of the 1st mat you applied to the mold ??
Surface tissue
@@garyengland5326 do you have to let the surface tissue layer dry before you add chop strand or can you work straight through ? Many thanks in advance
