    To make it easier to feed your water, electrical and drain lines through the hole in the cabinet, once you have them attached to the dishwasher, you might find it easier if you tie a three foot piece of string to each hose, then while the dishwasher is outside of the cabinet space, you can just feed the strings through the hole and pull on the strings, which will pull the hose and cables through the hole as you start to push the dishwasher back into the cabinet space.
    It's like extending your hoses and cables an extra three feet allowing you to pull them through the hole in the cabinet without fighting to get your arms back behind the dishwasher once it is already in the cabinet slot.
    Then just take off the strings before you attach the power, water and drain hose to their respective connections.
    That is what I do and it keeps me from having to try and fit my arms back in between the washer and the cabinet walls while feeding the hoses and pushing the washer back into the slot. Great video! SUPER DUPER!

    What size is is your waterline supply hoses?
    This is the best video on installation that I have seen on youtube!!!!!!!! Others never mentioned the flush or adjusting the legs while unit was outside of the well. I like how you taped the hoses down away from the side, and how you detected the hot wire between the 2 gray ones they had inside. Well, I could not afford a Kitchenaid but I am getting the Maytag with the giant third rack look-a-like!!!!😄😄😄 I may use Teflon & megaloc on all threads to guarantee no leaks!!!! THANK YOU😊

    Great video for sure, my city code does require an air gap or route the drain hose so that the loop goes higher than the drain hose connection to avoid waste water from draining back. Thanks for the video :)

    Great video. Great narration. Simple discussion. I’ve DIY installed several dishwashers over the last several decades but this refresher was terrific. It reminded me to check for certain things before they became gotcha’s. Thanks for putting this together.

    You want it leaning back the slightest bit so when the drawers are full they dont roll forward from the weight.

    I did it 30 years ago and never looked back...First, get your license.If you dont have enough years in to get a master plumbers or electricians license then get a general contractors.Hook up w a local kitchen showroom and install their kitchens.You do it all in that kitchen. $600-700 day easy

    your country is different to australia..cords plug into the machine and all the hoses are already attached, you just push the hoses and electrical cord through the hole in the cabinet screw the hoses on to fittings under sink and plug in the power, honestly its childs play here but REALLY complicated where you are!!

    Great if you have all the modern electrical connections etc. already installed , but what to do if you are in a forty five + year old home, and none of the items pictured here are available?
    Not the best video I have viewed.

    I missed the part where you connect the hoses to the dishwasher. That's where my leak is. Compression fitting possibly?

    Just a quick note...route the drain line so that it doesn't interfere with the sprayer.

    If that's a 20 amp circuit why is there a 15 amp receptacle?

    Isn't that a 15 amps recetacle that you have installed there ?

    • @BenjaminSahlstrom
      @BenjaminSahlstrom  5 років тому +1

      Yes it is. It is permissible to use a 15 amp receptacle on a 20 amp circuit. Is there something that I'm missing about that? Inspector was fine with it. Thanks for asking!

    • @stardog700
      @stardog700 5 років тому +1

      @@BenjaminSahlstrom You are absolutely within code. Very standard and common for 15 amp receptacles to be on 20 amp circuit. Kitchen branch circuits need to be 20 amp per code anyway.

  • @MrNeptunebob
    @MrNeptunebob 4 роки тому +1

    That's a really neat installation under the sink, but I can't believe you do not have a garbage disposal, which most Americans expect. When it comes time to sell, your real estate agent will ask you to install a disposal.

    • @BenjaminSahlstrom
      @BenjaminSahlstrom  4 роки тому +2

      We live in the country so we have a septic system and it is not generally recommended to run extra garbage into the septic tank. Plus, we just compost our food waste out in our grove which is a great job for our 6 year old. :)
