    For some reason the Germans decided it was necessary to hang on to the Sd.Ah.51 trailer that came with the army pattern 20 mm Flak 30.
    - And so, yes, Pontos has included them, more tiny bits that fit one deck higher and inboard of the after-most 105 mm gun mounts.
    Warship Pictorial 19 by Steve Wiper - page 59, there is an image of Adolph saluting the Bismarck from the fleet tender, Hela.
    You can see the 'U' shaped trailer behind the 11.5 m work-boat and above the left brim of the failed artists hat.

    Those parts are so tiny, good job assembling them, like I said before you'd think that the amount you pay for Pontos detail sets, they would make every effort to have clear instructions.

    Hi Steve, fantastic PE work. I have the 1:350 Revell Bismark and the advanced Pontos detail up kit for it in my stash. I had a look through the manual and it has almost the same parts for the 20mm flak gun as your 1:200 kit - but at 1:350 scale they will be almost half the size.. Scary.

    Your Bismarck build is truly amazing especially the PE parts. I will be getting this ship for my next big build along with the Pontos 27001F1 Advanced pack, Could you please tell me where I could buy this in the UK.

    Your paint work on the Mosquito was brilliant! Are you going to do any highlighting or weathering on this ship build? I noticed you didn’t on the Hood. I have noticed that many folks go to far (my opinion only) when weathering ships but a bit of highlighting here and there can really help if done well.

    • @TheModelShed
      @TheModelShed  2 роки тому

      Hi Chris no I won't be highlighting or weathering on the ship - at this scale its too easy to overdo and its difficult getting a consistent finish across a big model built over several months

    Does the larger of the 2 pieces you haven't used, fit underneath the gun chamber mechanism? You said that this fitting wasn't particularly positive. You could see a piece of diagonally folded plate on the image (anatomy of the ship) you showed half way through?

    These Pontos kits are amazing but they put way too many minuscule bras parts in their kits that don’t matter. I’ve bought a couple of their kits and ended up using maybe 2/3 or less of the parts.

    Great work again. Have you had any issues with Pontos decks for the Hood & Bismark? I installed the decks on the Iowa about 3 weeks ago using a very similar technique to you and the aft deck is already bubbling up in half a dozen places...

    • @jdmodels1968
      @jdmodels1968 2 роки тому

      @@TheModelShed I did, Tamiya X22 exactly the same as you did on the Bismark. I think I can fix it by running a scalpel fore to aft along the plank lines and put some thin CA in but it's a bit disappointing that it has lifted this quickly...
