Lol this is the reason why you need to just watch the first 3 min of the vid when jelly was talking and crying. Jelly said this was a song that got him through his last jail stint. Also the meaning behind this song is intense.
Craig Morgan is phenomenal! My favorite by him is "The Father, My Son and The Holy Ghost. We played that at my oldest son's funeral in 2021!

Craig Morgan was active duty for nine and a half years in the US Army as a member of the 101st and 82nd Airborne and remained in the reserves for another six and a half years. On July 29, 2023 Morgan re-enlisted in the US Army Reserve while on stage at the Grand Ole Opry at the age of 59. The oath of enlistment was administered by Gen. Andrew Poppas, commander of the United States Army Forces.

When Jellyroll was in jail he heard this song. When he got out, he went to the Opry and saw Craig Morgan perform this song. This was the first time he Met Craig Morgan. It was his second time on the Grand Ole Opry.

Now that you have discovered one of my favorite country singers I have a request. In 2016 Mr Morgans son, Jerry, was home visiting from college and died in a tragic drowning accident. While working thru the unimaginable pain of losing a child Craig Morgan wrote a song "The Father, My son and The Holy Ghost"....I still cry... On UA-cam there is both a music video and also one of him doing it live at the Grand Ole Opry, I would love to see what you think. ~ Beth Ann....PS: Almost home was a Craig Morgan song that had a big impact on Jelly Roll and he was invited to sing it with him the night of Craig Morgans 15th anniversary celebration of being a member of the Grand ole Opry ....Love your Channel.

OK in the beginning of this performance of Craig Morgan song almost home there’s like a whole thing where there you know talking about when jelly heard Craig singing it. Gotta say, he is an extremely kind and patriotic person, so much so that he served in the U.S. Army from 1971-1972 (endings of the war in Vietnam) and was sworn in again 2008 as US Army reserve. Tough, is another song you should check from Craig Morgan. All about his Wife's battle with Breast Cancer. Amazing song, but of all of Craig's songs. What I like about a Sunday is THE song! It brings back every feeling from my youth. Sunday morning, getting ready for church, with The Blackwood Brothers Gospel music hour playing on the TV. Sunday School, and Church, Lunch after church, the off to my Great Uncle and Aunt's house, through the gate to the cow pasture. Dig some red worms up, and walk down that old dirt path to the pond for an afternoon of catching a mess of Bluegills for supper. Sometimes it would be church followed by a ride over to my Grandpa and Grandma Hall's for lunch with the Grands. Uncles, Aunts, and Cousins, with either a game of football or baseball in the field down in the hollow, or playing in the creek, or again, a walk down an old trail to an old pond full of bass and bluegill. Man, I can hear the crickets chirping, smell the scents of leaves and moss, everything!! I just Love that song!!
