i played the game twice, its original release and the latest one, both times i gave up in the mad mechanic area, weapons were supper innacurate and weak, enemies are utter bulletsponges, there isnt enough ammo to take them down, meanwhile you die with 2 hits, healing items are insanely rare, the controls are a giant nightmare and a pain in the neck , your carrying capacity is so small you cant carry anything, everything is super expensive and jams and breaks all the time, you are suppose to take out too many enemies and exploration is a chore because it takes forever to get to where you need to go, back and fourth from the same roads. I wish i played the game he did. Play atom rpg instead much better.
@@arkgaharandan5881 Even Atom RPG has the same problem, but to a much lesser extent. I've come to roll my eyes when I see an indie dev talk about 'hardcore' or 'immersive' experiences. That almost always comes with really annoying trash tier mechanics and time wasters. Anyways Atom RPG (The first one) I could only enjoy with cheats to speed up movement and cancel hunger as well as using a melee build since guns are bad for most of the game and ammo is non existent for most of it as well due to um "immersion" apparently.
@@CheekiBreekiTv , thanks a lot for the amazing content that you are creating and for the great Stalker mods and Stalker like games that you are covering!
Wow this looks fantastic, right up my alley -- I love Stalker and I love CRPGs. Your videos do such a great job at shining the light on obscure mods and games that I otherwise would've never heard of, so thank you for that!
Really good video. You do a really great breakdown of the game and answer the questions I personally would like to know without spoilers. So thank you!
As a fan of the originals, this looks really interesting! I have not played a game that performs the story like this one, so I am interested in trying it out for myself. This review was great, Thanks!
When you start developing games for the first time, as your first personal project, a lot of people usually follow a tutorial to make something simple like a little "Asteroids" type game. I know I did. And then the first thing I started to think was "This isn't that far from a twin-stick shooter." - so I immediately started making something between a Diablo and Hotline Miami, pretty much a spell shooter lol. The more I got involved in the GameMaker and Unity communities for newer devs, the more I saw projects that stemmed out from their first project, building more and more into their toolset of knowledge and technique. There were these advanced games that people were making that had really started to gain full control of their creativity and tools as a solo developer. It was just amazing to see how phenomenal these games were, and how smooth any playable versions were - while also seeing the baseline of those tutorials that most people in the communities had used. This kinda reminds me of those, only even better because its a fully-fledged game that's been wholly fleshed out. If this person really did learn developing and do this as their first real game and passion project, that's really awesome!
Store detail: what you bought is called the "Essential Edition", that is two DLCs that really make the main campaign more complete, including for character creation :P Many players report those two DLCs feel like it should be in the core game. It is what I just bought myself now on rebate. The complete package, with all 6 DLCs, is called "Lost in the Zone" and, from what I understand, mostly adds end-game extras and some weapons, but I am not an expert.
Sometimes UA-cam shows us content that can be very interesting. Thank you for this video even if it is dated. I bought the game outright. Thanks (PS: I invite you to take an interest in "Beta Decay" the game...)
Took a quick look, the game doesn't seem to have Glock pistol, understandable since its timeline is just before the collapse of Soviet Union, but then it has UMP45 which is not out until 1998?
Playing it for about 10 hours and I have something to say from perspective of a native russian Stalker fan. I really love the vibe of this game, which reminds me of my childhood years, when I was playing Stalker mods (especially Sigerous Mod on CoP, if someone knows it - the Military Checkpoint location is sooo similar to the beginning of that mod), and I deeply respect the developer for that. Gameplay is pretty decent to say the least - I enjoy fighting in this game a lot. Overall style looks really cool, I love it. But, alas, there is enough details making the whole world of this game kinda surrealistic to me. Spinach cans "Popeye the Sailor", Bootleggers faction - all of that is a total nonsense for this Soviet Union 80-s setting and makes it harder to dive into this world atmosphere. Also Ghouls are quite funny, especially if you know what "a blue man" means in Russian (a drunkard, or just a person that is currently drunk sometimes). And they are literally blue men. But all of this doesn't really ruin the game vibe for me. What really does is an absolutely terrible Russian localization. It's not just totally bad - it creates some really heavy bugs. Summing all of this up - I like the game, despite all it's issues. But the Russian localization needs so much work to be done, right now it really ruins the impressions for russian players.
Hi just discovered your channel with your stalker mod video! Are you french by any chance? I may be sensing it a bit in the accent! If i'm mistaken, apologies. If not, salut à toi!
Right after another content creator. Guess it's the sign to start the playthrough already, but developer is making so many fixes and updates I can't pick the right time to start... And there are stats and XP to get, that surely spice up the game.
Wtf did they have to make it isometric?! I HATE isometric games. It's the ONLY reason I never played Baldur's Gate. STALKER is a first person PC game and should always stay that way! The game looks fun but I'll take a pass this time. Very disappointing! 😒
yea the main reason is making it isometric doesn’t require too many details and high res texture in the game, so that it’s possible to be developed by one person. Otherwise the amount of work would be astronomical for me, since I’m only working on this in my spare time.
Isometric games have often much more things to offer than any fps, lot of gameplay depth and elements, they can fully focus on other things than perfect animations textures and modeling for it to feel ReAlIstiC in 1st person. Isometric games are great.
It was developed by a single developer since 2015. He deserves wayyy more for this underrated gem.
you sold me the game man, it looks like an underrated gem
it honestly is, had a blast playing it!

OMG totally
You will enjoy this one for sure and also give a try to Zero Sievert.
ATOM RPG is a good recommendation if all 3 are you thing
I don’t really like topdown/isometric games, but this.. I’m in LOVE with it! Thank you for showing me this gem ❤️
Glad to hear you're enjoying it! It's a great little game!

I try a ton of games / mods but only the ones I truly enjoy end up on the channel, and this one was a really nice suprise!
Great Video, as always Cheeki! Going to add this to my wishlist as soon as I‘ll be back from my vacation
Awesome video. Content like this suits your channel well.
Thank you! I'm trying to find a balance between guides, reviews and gameplay videos so having some positive feedback really helps a lot!
Stalcraft profile picture. Man of culture.
I will definitely play it! Thank you for another amazing video!

Ooooh, nice! Definitely looks interesting.
This looks like an awesome indie game... will check it out.... from what i see, it scratches my itches in a lot of ways

Yep, you summed up perfectly how impressive it is for a single person to come up with such a great game!
Great review. I bought the game because of it and I can't wait to open my restaurant.
thanx 4 pointing this game out chief it looks interesting

Hey Cheeki, can you tell me the name of the music you used in the background if you somehow still remember it? Thank you.
sold me on it, perfect stalker fix on my steam deck. For anyone wondering, the game has a verified status. 😍
thanks man, now i gotta try it
Took a quick look, the game doesn't seem to have Glock pistol, understandable since its timeline is just before the collapse of Soviet Union, but then it has UMP45 which is not out until 1998?
I just personally hate glocks lol. I tried shooting it a few times, didn’t feel good at all
I just bought this on sale because I read that the dev just fixed up controller support. Looks good. No clue what Stalker is but this game looks dope
Seeing the HUD it instantly gives stalker vibes. You could blurr out the game and not say anything and it looks like stalker.
Do you think that it would work on steam deck?
Based on my reports from players, it sounds like it does work on deck. The game has native controller/gamepad support
Cool, but there is still no game that is able to keep me far from STALKER Gamma. I'm sick, I know. Great content though bro, as usual. Keep it up!
Its steam sale now, already add to cart
GREAT

Yeah ATOM is a great little game too, havn't checked it in a while I should get back to it one of these days.
Any games like atom withiut the turn based combat?
no idea if its still in there but i made a song for the soundtrack lmao

Thanks for the info, but I don't think this is for me
What is it with Russian/Ukrainian developers and developing games as a single person XD
haha I’m actually Chinese living in Texas… but would be glad to join the single person Russian/Ukrainian club :P
Not a top down shooter, an isometric action RPG. Hehe
the game looks great, but the problem is, that stalker gamma makes any other game completly obsolete
You will stop playing gamma at some point no worries... then come back :D
Trust me, GAMMA becomes very repetitive after various playtroughs, games like these are a good breath of fresh air from it
