- What are the best shoes for the quiet luxury look for men?
In my opinion, I think there are 5 essential shoes for this way of dressing.

Totally agree about the dark brown oxford. It's a lot more versatile than black. Also love the penny loafers, boots, espadrilles and even minimalist white leather sneakers (not sure if I would even wear them personally though).
I agree that minimalist sneakers work with shorts but I would argue that grown men just shouldn;t wear shorts to begin with :) Lightweight pants with penny loafers are a much better summer look, imo.
Thanks for watching :) Glad you liked it.
I know what you mean 😅 I agree that everyone looks better in long pants than in shorts, but for example here in Bangkok, on some days it gets so incredibly hot that I can't walk around in anything else but a pair of linen shorts 😁
Do you plan to own only one pair of shoes?
agree with your video. I love yacht loafers the most.
Thank you :) Great choice.
Great video Lukas 👏🏼
Thank you, Nathaniel 🙏
It does not matter how much you pay if they're dirty or run down. I have Bass Weejuns and Ferragamos from 45 years ago--because I take care of my clothing.
That's impressive :)
Do you have a tip on how to treat them so they last this long?
@@Lukas_Schanderl I've used Meltonian cream only. The creams come in about 25 colors. Plus I'm a firm believer in saddle soap. Spending $750 on shoes is a long term investment.
Agreed. As a female viewer I do have 2 pair a shoes (loafers and boots) from 30 years ago in a very good condition .
@@derbywinner6316Wow that's a worth-while investment :) 30 years is quite impressive.
Glad to see that the female audience is growing :)
@@virginiagrundman4012Great :) Thank you for the tips, Virginia. Appreciate it.
i went with loro piana for loafers and john lobb for formals
Fantastic choice.
They must feel and look amazing :)
Hello, can you link the website you bought the second hand loafers from? I can’t seem to find it
Thank you.
I usually buy from either:
1. Vinted (EU only)
2. Kleinanzeigen (Germany only)
I think the one I mentioned is #2
what about double monks? As boots they are great, super comfy, great look.
I like monk strap shoes, too, but I personally would not put them in my essentials list.
But that's up to personal taste :)
The Venetian slip-on or yacht loafer is very trendy, I love the Sebago boat shoe and some of the Rancourt boat shoes, they are a timeless classic and there are different variations you can style with your fit, also G.H.Bass weejuns are fire, they have a great variety of styles and I got my eye on a pair of the spectators for spring and summer
Thanks for your input, Will :)
Awesome, are you going for the classic spectators or for the loafer version?
Great shoe for summer to make a statement :)
@@Lukas_Schanderl I pulled the trigger on a pair of Sebago spectator loafers for spring and summer, I already got a couple pairs of weejuns in different colorways.
Perfect :) Hope you get a lot of wears out of them this spring 👌
A suede penny loafer in dark brown is perfect- I love mine from Septième Largeur! My dark brown oxfords are from Loake 1880, and I have a brown suede derby from Justin Fitzpatrick. I don't own dress boots, but have suede chukkas in brown from Crockett and Jones and in blue suede from Justin Fitzpatrick. My brown chelseas are currently Thursday Boots, but I may well upgrade at some point. Yacht loafers is one style I don;t have. I'm looking for a good pair of espadrilles for summer. And getting a nice pair of suede sneakers is next on my list, but I'll be getting them in brown. I had a pair of white leather sneakers, but never wore them.
That's a wonderful collection, Simon :)
I heard great things about Loake. They are the premium brand of Herring shoes?
@@Lukas_Schanderl Loake is one of the bigger British shoe brands. Their 1880 line is their "Made in the UK" line I believe if I recall correctly :)
@@SimonChambers I almost ordered them once but the customs etc. to Thailand would have been almost 80% on top :D
@@Lukas_Schanderl yikes, that's crazy! I complain at 40%...
can you share a list of shoe makers which are good to look for in second hand shopping? Similar to what you did for other clothes!
Thank you. Great idea.
It depends on your location, but good brands to start with can be:
Magnanni
Hugo Boss (Sometimes their shoes are made in Italy and quite nice)
Shoepassion (Only in Germany)
Berwick
Herring Shoes
Loakes
Church's
Allen Edmonds
Alden
Crockett & Jones
Grenson
I didn't include any modern brands, because they are more tricky to find second-hand.
If anyone else wants to add to the list, please do so :)
I'm still not excited about loafers. Mostly I seem to have to get LL Bean boat shoes because nobody else has my size. I have a little more luck with derbys and things , but not much.
Yes, a good mahogany is my favorite, but so many come in shades of "tan" instead, but oxblood is my runner-up that I don't get to use often.
$150 is pretty cheap. Probably need to double that for better leather and such.
I'm finding that decent boots are more around $400+
Yes, but boat shoes are meant for BOATS, not so much walking all around Manhattan or something. They don't usually have any tread for a reason. This is where sneakers and other things can still be substituted perhaps if you know you are going shopping or to an amusement park and not just lounging around at BBQ or sailing, etc.
What is your size?
I can relate, I am either a 12.5 or 13, and I also struggle a bit finding shoes that properly fit.
Can’t wait 🎉
Thank you :)
With respect to shoes, never underestimate the power of Bass Weejuns, Cole Haan boots and brogues, and Sperry deck shoes. All are moderately priced, last forever, and work with everything. If you live near an outlet mall, you'll probably find factory stores from at least two of those brands. Cheers.
Thank you for adding those, Cooper :)
With respect to penny loafer I love Bass Weejuns. They are a classic and you can wear them with shorts. With respect to yacht loafers, I love Topsiders.
Thanks for the tips :) I was not aware of Topsiders, so I will check them out :)
I guess you have never left the Usa
The first thing I pick out in what a man is wearing is not the suit, or shirt, or tie BUT 👞 all the time
When Rishi went to see King Charles last Wednesday I looked at the King’s 👞
Oh my amazing
They looked like tassel loafers in black I think (the lighting in the room was not the best)
I love shoes and I buy some vintage. I purchased a pair of Christian Dior Ostrich leather heels from the 1980’s
I paid £190 but they are amazing and so stylish
They will last ages
👍 👍 👍 😃😃😃👞👞🏴🏴🏴🏴😍🇬🇧🇬🇧
Thanks for watching, Joanne.
Those shoes sound fantastic 👌
They will definitely last you a very long time 🙏
I just wanted this guide as eid for Muslims is around near and i could find really good shoes thanks!❤
Awesome :) Glad it was helpful 🙏
@@Lukas_Schanderl sir i have a request too if you are free can you make a video on behaviour of a man like you dress like a gentleman and you should act like one too and you are an adult so i hope you will make one🤍
Good idea :) Thank you, Sarmad.
@@Lukas_Schanderl i literally feel like im honoured
What people do not realize is that certain shoes are not really suitable for walking. Thin soles? Loafers? Driving mocs? Leather dress shoes with wooden heels instead of rubber? Try to walk a mile or two and see how your feet feel then.
Thanks for watching, William.
I agree. I wear mostly loafers with a rubber sole for walking in the city and then for more formal events, shoes with a leather sole.
You mentioned boat shoes 😒, but omitted double Monk strap shoes!!!? Really?
Good point 😅 I think a nice pair of suede monk straps would look better than boat shoes, indeed.
Hey brother you need a video editor?

So, you recommend dark brown shoes "because black is usually not the most common color". Good to know, because apparently it's important to look like everyone else, sort of like a sheep. IMHO - What was an occasionally different look that technically works, is a dark blue suit and brown shoes. But black is actually the more natural pairing. And then, brown with dark blue would be a more interesting occasional exception.
Rant: This reminds me of where one tree fallen in the water made a great fishing spot. Seeing this, the dimwits went out and cut every tree on the bank, to fall into the water. Totally ruining the fishing spot.
I hope your doctor will be able to help you soon
@@ABC-rh7zc Well, Lukas is saying things as fact. So I push back as it is only opinion, which is also by the way, wrong. I pull no punches.
@eriolthemariner I defeat opponents. So, there's that. Take it as you will.
Got to have all white Nikes for the summer baby! Otherwise, I like the list.

Thanks for watching, Langston 👌
