They don't own the road side parking, it's given free by the government. You also cannot buy a property and assume your neighbors will never change there's, that's just dumb
This is what Queenstown needs more of this for single and working couples , the accommodation down there is diabolical...lots of work but nowhere to live ...You could be successful if you took your company to Queenstown at the same time alleviate the housing crisis which has been that way for decades because developers keep building posh expensive homes but miss the mark on this type of housing development ....lakes district council are also to blame because they didn't forecast the towns rapid growth and didn't put it into there planning infrastructure ...i lived there for a few years and it was always a nightmare trying to find affordable accommodation ! .....anyway. Cheers bro , great content ...😊😊
Exactly. Because the people who they want to charge a fortune to and are living in it don't matter. This is all so sad and short sighted. What we build now will not serve our future.
Perfect for 15 minute cities - not so good for out of town mates, those with vehicles or families. Still a great starter home to build equity the cheapest way possible - without going the renovation DIY route.
Gosh, Upper Hutt, I lived there 50 yrs ago… I lived in Queen st…. Living in Brisbane Manly awesome place… I can’t believe you are able to build with no garages….
You’re doing a good job with these videos mate - especially enjoy the more technical ones - you explain things in a way that makes it easy to follow… It helps make sense of the rules and why we have to do things - thanks 👍🏽
9:02 are those gas meters? Is there any particular reason you're still installing gas into new homes? Seems a bit short sighted. don't mind me if they're not!
They should have put a control joint or construction joint in the concrete floorslab to reduce damage from earthquakes if one was to happen. So under every party fire wall .
I love to watch the building process, but I hate to see that these are the types of homes we're building in New Zealand. We're really going down as a country
@@liam2409If building like this wasn't allowed prices would be even higher than they already are. The population is increasing and people need to live SOMEWHERE. Can't build everybody a single family house on a big parcel of land.
People can live somewhere. Infact I can show you nearly half a dozen houses that sit empty on my street and have been for the last couple of years, Both Privately and State owned. It may sound anti landlord but why not add a tax for house that sit empty. These are good houses that familys can live in. Thats the problem we have. Exsisting house stock is not being used which drives up rent, drives up cost of ownership and makes poor policy decisions based on false assumptions.
Can the local infrastructure keep up with housing at the moment I love that we are building more but ummm can the whenua handle it in its current state?
This whats wrong with NZ now. This is soo sad to see. Developers and people with dollar signs in their eyes justify this to themselves, saying, "were great, were making homes for NZers".
Not his fault someone wanted to build this... He just gets paid to do the work, nothing wrong with being proud of executing a job well, even if it's a bit shit for the people that can't afford something bigger
Kids can play with other kids at parks and schools and other communal spaces. Higher density housing is great when it's done near those facilities. I saw great two or three story places in Germany where the parks were packed and they were right next to the park. Great facilities for the kids.
The neighbours must be thrilled with 5-10 cars out the front every night

Should've been four houses in a row with four parking spaces in the front.

Interesting design. How come there's no off street parking and very minimal storage for things like sheets, towels, vacuum cleaner etc...
Exactly. Because the people who they want to charge a fortune to and are living in it don't matter.

No parking lot? What about Impervious Surface?

amazing video again! Would love to wire up these houses and document it!
Mate, love your content- you explain things very well
It’s a great way to invest in the property market smart move . Great for small family and student

No driveway or parking... Ridiculous
I feel claustrophobic looking at it
What is the size of the Plot? 100by50?
hi josh, can you let me know the cost for the whole project ?
Can you please tell me how was the cost of the total project ?
No parking.... Especially when the people that can afford that type of house ALWAYS has a car.
great work
Thanks!
How much per unit?
lol an alley house. I hope y'all lit that narrow front path and put up some cameras. That's a nightmare to walk down to get to your house.
Parking will always be the problem
Why piles in NZ? No frost depth
earth quakes

This should be criminal, 5 houses 0 parking, destroying the fabric of the neighbourhood and a big F you to the neighbours.
Car parking? Mirror sounds better than mimic 😊
Why only single story?

Incredible work by the team.
One home into five is ridiculous, sorry.
Depends on the vision, you are not an investor I can tell
Something is wrong with the zoning requirements if you can build that without parking.
This is beautiful. 🤩
greedy bastards .....carparks are missing there

It's called progression, you either build up or tight. All bigger cities have had to go through this..
@@yessiryousir I would call it change, not progression. If anything it's regression when the market hits the tipping point to where this is the model.

@@vinyfiny That was my point.. the fact that affordable housing has gone all the way down to this really shows how far we've fallen in this country

should of built 6 units double story and be able to have parking spaces
Awesome stuff!
more greedy developers, just what we need

Beautiful
Nice work
I love this style of building, it is the future of housing in NZ.
A responsible builder would make the first house parking ...
Rather see 4 houses and parking, otherwise it's just slums for the future.
All these negative comments, yet you all dislike homeless and high house prices. This is one way to combat it.
These type of houses aren't cheap either
This whats wrong with NZ now. This is soo sad to see. Developers and people with dollar signs in their eyes justify this to themselves, saying, "were great, were making homes for NZers".
atrocious cash grab
This type of uninspiring housing is spreading across nz like a toxic growth
Kool story bro, where do the kids play? On the driveway? Stop ruining family homes...
Not his fault someone wanted to build this... He just gets paid to do the work, nothing wrong with being proud of executing a job well, even if it's a bit shit for the people that can't afford something bigger

He said the house that was there was literally falling apart. You'd rather a vacant delapidated house instead of housing for 5-10 people?
gen alpha kids aren’t playing outside. They’re on their iPhones and iPads.
what a joke..
Looks absolutely awful. I'm surprised it's allowed
