What your reckon about all the silica products from James Hardie? New abestos in the future? Keen on your thoughts I refuse to use the shit anymore killing me and the boys!
Interesting. It's a shame the old house couldn't be saved even just the materials but I get it. The cost in labour often isn't worth the return. One question is there a reason you went for fibreglass insulation over wool blend?
The answer to all your questions is COST. The overall motivation here is profit, obviously. And when neither the builder, his family or friends are ever going to have to live in one of these, cost is a very easy answer for every question. He says keeping the price down, I say keeping the profit up. Welcome to the National Coalition way of doing things. Buy one cheap house but outbid average family, sell two expensive houses to investors, housing crisis solved, move on.
I think it’s illegal to sun dry cloths in many places in America. That’s not the case in New Zealand. Almost all houses in New Zealand have cloths lines outside, and many houses do have driers.
@@ericshang7744 Wow i never thought about it but you may be right! While i haven't heard of the laundry line ban, we do have a lot of antiquated laws like that that were aimed at making the lives of poor folks harder...it sucks!
You guys and subdivisions, its just ridiculous. The properties you guys work on Just turn into multiple homes on a little property. New Zealand needs to update their zoning and restrictions because it’s gonna end up with towns just full of little mini homes on little properties with no room.
I love your team's work, you really put back confidence in contractors. Can't get enough of these transformations.Keep them coming.
Thanks very much - the industry needs some positivity right now!

Why did you talk her into a second home- is she going to use for rental to offset her mortgage or is it for family living? @NZ Builder? @Josh Chapman?
how big is the lot??? the big one before sub divide
This lot was around 800sqm
tidy work.
Thanks
in the US its unheard of to install a washing machine and no dryer...is that common over there?
We have dryers too. Some houses have just a washing machine. And clothes line outside.

'Stunning' is an interesting descriptive word to use for these. 'Standard' would be better
It is in the eye of the beholder

There's not even a proper backyard 😂
Come on guys. Property developers saving the country. They know best
We have heap of land but the stupid environment ideology stops cities expand and now a classic kiwi backyard becomes a luxury thing for family.
YOU guys! And YOU guys! 🫵🫵🫵🫵
This is what everyone wants now. Nobody wants a backyard because they don’t have time to tend to it.
Lovely outdoor living. Beautiful view of the neighbours shitty unkept building. Make a great family home. 😂
I think these houses are too close together, more like a chook coops than anything else...
I'd take a detached house with almost no yard over a condo or a townhouse every time.
Jacking up a car in the garage could cause damage to the concrete floor with the polystyrene pods within the concrete slab
lol
The slab is supported by concrete piles/piers. The foam blocks are just for insulation.
