I don’t consider that I "speak" the last five languages, that’s why they’re in the random section. A lot of people thought I spoke Lingala tho, but no, I just listen to a lot of ndombolo 😂
I also see a lot of people commenting "her creole is better than mine". Please don’t be harsh on yourself (and your parents!). If I were raising kids in another country, there are good chances I would have stopped speaking my language out of fear that it might interfere with them learning the language of the new country. The good news is that there’s no proof that it’s bad for kids to learn two languages at the same time!

I ain't going to judge, as your parents most likely never thought you how to speak and never tried to have conversations in creole with you.
Phil A I actually spoke creole every day and had several family members who could only speak Creole growing up. I simply have a little less confidence when saying certain words but my parents did a great job of speaking creole with me, teaching me songs in creole and telling me about the history of my country 😊😊

I’ve noticed there were some comments regarding her French accent while speaking creole, well growing up in Haiti and attending school, I remember lots of the kids had to speak with a French accent, most weren’t aloud to speak creole at home: regardless great job 🙏🏼🙏🏼👌👌

Love that she’s fluent in all these languages ppl like this are usually opened minded about other ppl cultures and respect it.....on a another note I wish all the Haitians would be as positive and impressed when Haitian-Americans try and speak Creole instead of makin in fun of them for not speaking it so well....theyre willing to teach others but not their own
It's not that we make at fun of them trying to speak it. We know that they're trying it's just that their accent are funny plus most of us cant pass even one minute without laughing

I always say my native tongue is creole, not French and people ask me how come....I said you only speak French if you go to school and learn to read and write it as a second language, but french is not what's spoken at home to 90% of Haitians

Ces vrai se qu'elle dit en créole quand on apprend une langue ou même quand on dit simplement quelques mots.
Il est important de prendre une intonation juste afin de respecter ce ou ces personnes en face.
Et surtout on apprend pas une langue pour se moquer de ces origines mais pour comprendre, apprendre la culture.
