Another great show Robert. If you could do a show about Elvis' RCA catalogs, or special movie promos (Blue Hawaii Tiki mug, Tickle Me feather pack, Kissin' Cousins button, etc...) that would be great.

As a teen my favorite Camden albums were 'I Got Lucky' and 'Cmon Everybody'. I also still have a couple of Pickwicks.

I did a video on the Camdens to point out their importance to younger fans. I was 12 when Elvis died. I couldn’t afford his regular U.K. albums, but I could spend my pocket money on a Camden. I didn’t know they were complications of other releases, to me it was another Elvis album and I loved them. My original copies are battered and I have many copies U.K. and world-wide but those old copies remind me of shopping in Walworths with my mum, carrying my new Camden home to listen to new songs (to me) for the first time.

A great Show as always Robert thx....The 1st Pressing of Camden "Almost In Love" on Vinyl incl a *OUTTAKE* of "Stay Away, Joe" *AND NOT* the "Stay Away, Joe" Mastertake/Version from the "Let's Be Friends" Camden Vinyl Album☝️well, it's the same Movie-Song for sure but very different if your listening/compare!
The 2006 US SONY CD-VERSION of "Almost In Love": On the first Pressing was "Stay Away, Joe" written on the Back-Cover but "Stay Away " was on the Disc. On the second CD Pressing SONY corrected the Song-Title on the Back-Cover finally...😄!The very EVER first US CD Edition of "Almost In Love" was a BMG Special AVON CD Release in 1997 (Mail Order Only) with the Pickwick Cover-Design incl "Stay Away"...it's still a soughtful/pricey Elvis CD Collectors item 😉...btw the same goes for the very first US BMG Special AVON CD Release of "Elvis Sings Hits From His Movies"...a very rare CD for sure! (Both BMG AVON CD's were available for a month only)
Canada released a few Camden CD's in the "Long Box" Edition back in the late 1980's👍
And i won't to go deeper on Details on 2 extremly super rare BMG "Camden" CD Releases from Germany back in the late 1980's 😉

Hi, Robert! I would like to mention that the "Stay Away, Joe" as heard on the FIRST "Almost In Love" Camden album is an entirely different take than the version heard on The "Let's Be Friends" album. Very interesting! Great shows!

I love your videos, they are fascinating. On the CAMDEN side I have a version of Flaming Star made in Montreal Canada with a completely different label than the ones you showed. I also have the versions you mentioned and even the RCA version with a bonus photo. I send you in your email photos of my album in question. I don't know more about why the label is so different. If you have more information I would like to know. I also have a very different version of the Madison Square Garden album too, I'll tell you about it very soon. Thank you for your video sharing and continue your excellent work. TCB

Thanks Robert! A couple things of note about Camden: 1) The Singer edition of Flaming Star also came with a bonus photo 2) The 1970 Camden LP "Elvis' Christmas Album" is Elvis' all time greatest selling album at over 10 million units (his only Diamond Certification)

Yes. As a matter of fact the "Singer Presents" came with several bonus items including two versions of an 8x10 photo given away at the sewing centers before each broadcast of the NBC Special. And however, it is NOT a Camden release.

John, I bought my very first few Elvis albums back in 1964 at Woolworths as well. The Woolworths is gone now and is now an antique store. Still get a weird feeling standing in the same spot in the store where the records once were and remember flipping through the Elvis albums. It's like going back in time. Thanks for watching, as always.

Over the years, I have found many, many Camden / Pickwick screw-ups during the transition from one to the other. There were different Pickwick records that came inside the original Camden covers for some reason. Sounds like your have a cover that was going through the transfer from Camden to Pickwick at the factory. Always an interesting anomaly and a nice collector's item.

Hey Robert, great shows. I watched the Camden special again. Reason I re-watched was because I finally tracked down a copy of Burning Love with the starburst cover and photo included. When I compared my other copy of this album, the copy without the starburst. Both vinyl's are blue label Camdens, and both say "dynaflex" on the labels. However, the one with the photo is so flexible I can almost bend it in two, while the other one doesn't feel flexible at all. Don't think its rigid, but it does give some. It's also feels thicker, so I think its a rigid. The matrix numbers are different, one looks stamped while the other looks etched. Any insight? Could it just be different pressing plants or a dynaflex label placed on a rigid in error?

Robert, Colonel Parker did not sell the masters to RCA for $5.4 million USD. Neither Elvis or Colonel Parker owned the masters. RCA has always owned the masters. As a recording artist, Elvis Presley was entitled to royalties based upon the sales of his records. How much or what percentage would have been spelled out in his recording contract. Essentially, Elvis Presley and Colonel Parker took a lump sum payment that bought out Elvis and Colonel Parker ever receiving a royalty payment again for any recording with very few exceptions made prior to March 1973. Elvis would still receive royalties from the songs his music publishing companies owned or songs in which he was credited as a co-writer.
