Hi Robert ! I think the first time Elvis appeared with dyed black hair was October 28,1956 in the second presentation in the "Ed Sullivan Show",in "Love Me Tender"still had its natural color . I always enjoy the shows ! .Thank You and TCB !👑👍
Hi Robert, talking about the new Elvis movie album , they could have definitely added pictures of the artists inside the gatefold sleeve, and also would have loved to have seen the front cover embossed, I think that would have been really cool ! 🏴
My theory on the Kissin’ Cousins LP is the same as what I think happened with the Love Letters From Elvis album. I think RCA had a supply of the original album covers in their inventory. When they ran out the cast photo covers rather than reprinting more covers for an album they probably figured would be deleted in the near future they just used what was on hand.
Great Show again Robert and thanks for the laugh on Moody Blue Album. Maybe have fans send in their reveal of Moody Blue until you get the answer your are expecting LOL. I don't know if this would be a good subject for you but maybe the TV Albums sold thru TV. Before he died there was the ELVIS and Elvis in Hollywood. After he died there were K-Tel and Time Life albums to name a few. Looking forward to your next show.
Great show Robert. You are such a great communicator. I could listen to you for hours. I have several EPs including a still sealed "Just for You" and "Elvis by Request (Flaming Star) Compact 33 Double", also sealed. As you know, some EPs were re-released on orange labels, some of which may be worth more than the originals, depending on who you ask. Thanks for bringing out the black box...that is always a treat. Love it. I am also really enjoying the shenanigans with the Moody Blue album, lol. Can't wait for the next show. Very much looking forward to it. Thanks to you and your wife for producing these and Merry Christmas to you both.
I forgot to mention the orange label EP reissues and you're right. Most of them ARE worth much more than the originals. Merry Christmas and thanks for the kind words.
Robert the TTWII LP you have is referred to as a "Non-flexible vinyl"... technically the rigid labels do have an outer ring... and TTWII was originally issued on a rigid orange label with the outer ring. Great show!!
I read that the reason they used old songs for Tickle Me, was because the movie studio was in a financial mess. Elvis agreed to do the movie on the cheap and use old tracks. I think the movie saved the movie studio.
The picture on the second Christmas EP was taken in Germany 1959 , in the same photo sessions as Elvis is back front cover was taken . This is what I have read ! Great videos ! 🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪
I'm willing to bet that demand went so crazy after Elvis' death they just simply ran out of stickers! I was 15 when Elvis died, I remember being very excited when walking into the record store and finding all the deleted soundtracks again (except Frankie & Johnny). Those albums had left the stores before I was a record buying fan. A couplke of years later I came across a new Canadian pressing of Frankie and Johnny which made my collection complete.
That’s what I remember as well in the weeks and months after Elvis’ death. Every store that sold records had a good supply of different Elvis albums but there had to be at least thirty or more copies of Moody Blue. The room Ming out of stickers theory makes sense. TheyAng SHOU must have done a terrible job of keeping track of sales because I did not see that type of stock for any album by any artist at that time. There had to of thousands of copies of Moody Blue selling everyday.
@@sentinel3504 I remember my family was driving through the south late July and early August 1977 and Moody Blue and Way Down were getting tons of airplay, I wonder how well the album was selling prior to his death.
@@thomasmurray9249 without researching it right now from what can remember reading somewhere was that the Moody Blue album was selling quite well prior to Elvis’ death. I believe it was doing better than the previous few albums.
RCA Living stereo wasnt a gimmick. Those records are some of the finest sound quality of that period. The Dynagroove they went to lessened that sound quality. The Compact 33's were made exclusively for jukebox's .
In the late 1940s there was a format war started Columbia with 33 1/3 and RCA with 45. There were players that played one or the other. In the mid 50s EPs were a way for RCA to make some or all of the album content available to the 45s crowd (and I assume they had to pay a licensing fee to Columbia for 33). I'm sure they also stuck some other tracks on to motivate people who used both formats to buy product. Since both 45 and 33 were embraced by the consumer, demand for EPs dropped off. I don't think RCA was necessarily trying to keep the format alive as much as to continue to fill demand to shrinking market that by 1967 didn't make economic sense. I think the only EP I still own is the Aloha from Hawaii jukebox EP from '73. I think it runs at 33.
Hey Robert I wanted to ask about orange label EPs and do we know why certain ones were reissued? Were all reissued on orange labels? I have some and unclear on the history. Thanks.
Stereo is left channel right channel living stereo has a shared middle channel that shared the left and right channel rca had a lot of classical albums that were annolog living stereo
You probably wouldn’t believe me if I told you I knew it was going to be a blue album, but it is what it is. I’ve been to many record shows where I’ve seen sealed Moody Blues with no stickers on the albums and are always blue !!! How about doing a show concerning orange label rei-ssues ??? That would be incredibly interesting. Oh, congrats on the 1000 subscribers, it’s about damn time. Take Care.
Thanks Francesco. I hate to say it but I actually did find black vinyl Moody Blues in both the cover with just one sticker AND without both before. Orange label reissues are on my list of future shows. Merry Christmas.
After last night I was going to go-to my local Walmart to buy the movie soundtrack. After much deliberation and watching the show again I decided not to. The cd is enough, no unchained melody. Boring
How in the hell could this channel not have thousands of more subs ??? A damn pity, but Robert is awesome.
Keep at it bro.
Thank you, Minkahed! Much appreciated.
I’ve got a few of the touch of goldEPs,I’m off to check em now .
Luv the show.
Can't begin to tell you how much we collectors appreciate what you do. Thanks so much. Have a great Christmas!

Robert, just opened 2 sealed albums (Kissin Cousins and That’s The Way It Is) and they’re both on Tan !!! 😮 Am I in for a treat? Ha

Interesting. Don't know exactly how that's possible but still interesting. Thanks for sharing.
I have a copy of That's the Way It Is with a black label, but it's sort of flexible, not real stiff. Is it worth anything? Just curious.
It is, Probably a little more than the orange flex but not more than the tan label and orange rigid vinyls.
