It was only after I changed my cables multiple times did I realise how important shielded cables are within a living room setup. For me, it's all about getting the noise floor so low ones unable to differentiate whether the system is switched on or switched off.

From a strictly audio perspective, Do you think a dedicated processor is much better than AV receiver with pre-outs? Not talking for beginners or regular folks, but intermediate to advanced folks. Thx!

It's for sure better if someone can afford to go full separates. Always a good idea to get your electronics away from your Amps. Now how much better..it's a small amount. Until you get to the $20K pre amps and processing...that's a small number of people. So using a receiver and amping the front 3 will be my go to....If the budget dictates it. Otherwise..yes..amp it all. I'ts all budgetary.

Kind of looking to revamp my theater room, currently just running Bose soundbar system. Looking to buy my first receiver and do a 7.1.0 setup. The room is pretty large and I really have no idea how much it will all cost. Will try and go through some of your videos for ideas though for sure.

I the MRX 540 and I did run the room calibration but I dont feel immerse in the sound. I have 5.0 running my speakers full range because they have built in subs.

Can you use earc and still use the full potential of the receiver? So, by using the tv as your source instead of the receiver. Or do you have to have your xbox Blu-ray, ect, hooked up to the receiver to get the best results? I've herd people say the tv can't send 5.1 sound to reciever so one might not be able to use the functions of the reciever fully.

Always better to go direct into receiver. Earc is for simplified systems

Oh my answer changed a little bit after CEDIA. Pro Audio Technologies..if money is no issue. And the aren't even the most expensive. Those..and what I won ..Focal Utopia which is best for everything even serious 2ch listening. But those are my FAV. Many good ones though. I have other videos of different system ideas at different price points. Check them out.
