I just came by me - very impressed Doug - hope my spindly grafted Achacha thickens up - i recommend getting advanced plants down south and they could fruit here -cheers Mark 🌴
I love achacha so much, hope I get a bucketful next year. I have a bunch of other garcinias to plant out, lindero, a few macrophylla pungara, an sp peru, medruno var sweet, sp sweet and some unnamed ones. All meant to be good, in 10 years I should be drowning in garcinias, what awonderful death
Thanks mate, it's similiar to mangosteen but with a slight lemon taste. Still more sweet than tart. This has to be my favourite so far, still waiting on lucs, macrophylla, lindero, medrono and squat to fruit.
I am gonna start grafting a few for quicker fruiting. But yes more is better, I'll be adding a lindero, squat, medrono, and macrophylla to the achacha area. All awesome tasting garcinias.
@qpl88 definitely. If you send me a message on insta dougs_urbanfarm or fb Doug hanning, I will keep in touch, I will be grafting some Achacha from my tree, I could keep one for you it will fruit a bit quicker.
Great to see Doug, very exciting and rewarding 👍
Thanks Brett, did I mention I was excited!
Congrats, huge win finally getting some fruit. Agree, I love the taste of these, easy to work through a bag of them in an afternoon!
Cheers Ben, hopefully yours isn't too far off. I can easily eat a kg in one sitting.
Great video, now I’m looking forward to fruit my little seedlings. 🌱
Thanks Thomas, it's amazing how fast the years go by, they will be fruiting before you know it.

Congrats, how many fruits did the tree end up producing its first year?
Only 6 but at least now it's started!
Wow awesome
I better keep a eye out at the markets I’m sure they will be around again atm
Should be coming soon Neil.
Wow! Congrats! Amazing that you has your first one! 😃
How do you like it compared to Mangosteen?
And which is your favorite garcinia?
Cheers!

@@dougs_urbanfarm Woww! Looking forward to that! 😃
What a milestone!
Cheers Will.
Never tried one mate. Hopefully mine won't take 8 years. Maybe I should get 2 or 3 more

Do you sell fruits or seeds? ☺😋
No I am just a hobby grower, I still work full time and don't have time to sell seeds.
Was it a seed grown tree & if so how long did she take to fruit from seed?
Yes mate, seed grown, 10 years to fruit.
@dougs_urbanfarm great that it was well worth the wait
Instant taste bud reaction mate, 👍
It's like a little taste of heaven Paul.
Nice!
Yeah mate they are very nice! Can't wait till next year now
You saved half for me! I'm so tou... what?! Who is that woman?
Haha Andy, happy wife happy life!
How good, patience pays off! I don’t think I’ve seen these in store; will need to try find them at the markets after that review
They should be in Coles and woollies soon, definitely worth a try. I have not met anyone who doesn't like them.
I’ll be sure to look out for them. If it turns out to be a success in the family, I’ll grab out; better to find out early if it’s then a long wait 😅
