When I watched Karate Kid III, Mike Barnes who was the Cobra Kai opponent used punches more like boxing hooks and jabs than traditional Karate punches, since they're more straight line. He did score 2 points for reverse punches, though.

To not take my eyes off the enemy, to keep going until the enemy submits or the ref says stop.

Yes, it's shit. Semi contact, just too many rules. Full contact traditional shotokan is the real deal. It's not weak before it's sportified. I miss those days. Atleast kyokushin, kudo, muaythai, muayboran, etc still stays to its nature..
