Love your videos, Yessica. I wouldn't be at all mad if you decided to capitalize a bit on these with an ad or two. You've contributed so much to seitan lovers! :)
I did it!!!! I think I needed to squeeze more water out before I let it rest like you said, because it was more moist than I wanted - but it still tasted so good!!! And shredded up and pan-fried could hardly tell the difference - THANK YOU SO MUCH! I never would have done it without your example, everyone else’s videos seemed too intimidating - and now I’m so excited to try it again! You’re the best!! 💕
Yo ya he hecho varias recetas de tu canal y mis no-veganos familiares ni se dan cuenta que no es carne, le das un sabor muy rico al seitan con tus recetas. Gracias por existir 💚
These videos impress me more with each you make! You make WTF method seem so much less intimidating for so much better results, very inspiring. By all means throw an ad on these videos, you deserve it! I notice your audio mixing has a sort of "boomy" quality, there might be an easy way to adjust the levels in editing software to make your voiceover smoother to listen to. In any case please keep making these!!!! Every video is a hit!!
Thank you for the right steps for using white flour and different methods. That looks extremely great. I will try it myself. Might make some vegan fried chicken lol!!
❤❤❤ Thank you so much for the detailed instructions. Special thanks on the disposal. 😂 (Homeowners care! $$!) Love ❤❤❤ the variations of preparing. You rule!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I’ve never made seitan before with the WTF method, and the couple times I’ve tried other ways did not come out great. Yours are the only videos/recipes I’ve seen that makes me think it would be totally doable and worth the effort!! I’m definitely going to try this!
@@yessicainfante831 I'm serious! If we lived closer together I would absolutely be your videographer/producer! I really want to start up a new cooking show too.
I did cover it on my first attempt when steaming it to create the patty shape. I actually preferred the frying technique best. I did not cover it when I simmered it.
I can't get mine to have the separate strands or fibers like meat. What am I doing wrong? Maybe I am not getting all the water out? Thank you for all of your videos. Liked and subbed.
Thank you! I obtain the shreds by knotting the dough. Having dough that is to wet might be a problem, I recommend taking your time when squeezing out the water.
@@yessicainfante831 Thank you. I love watching your videos. I am using your recipe for the brisket. I think I will be able to master it, just takes time.
TFS have you tried/successfully made a ‘meaty’ burger patty from washed flour? If you succeed with that I would never need to buy commercial type again 🤷🏼♀️👍🏼👌🏼
Why I’m never able to achieve your texture of the dough. I feel like I wash it too much, but I tried to wash it a bit less and it turned out disgusting. I’m vegan since 2016 and still learning 😭
I would like to try this recipe, I cannot find (must contain at least 10% protein) the highest in my area is 4% protein, should I add a couple of Culturelle probiotics capsules into the washing or after the washing. Really need your advise, Thank you!
I totally forgot to add that. Thanks for catching it. I used a cup of apple juice and my favorite McCormick seasoning blend: Garlic Herb and black pepper sea salt.
@@yessicainfante831 Hmm, I asked because I've been known to throw all this sort of waste over my (outside) plants. The worms and bacteria seem to like it?

I second this. I'm always happy to see hard work and excellent content get rewarded.

Thank you, that means so much to me. You’re welcome 😊
Wow! Yum 🤤
The true seitan QUEEN, I'm for sure trying this! Love your method, it's actually trippy how much the texture resembles meat
Thank you! That’s definitely the best texture I’ve achieved.
Honestly, you are seriously amazing!

Looks delicious!
Absolutely perfect technique I've been waiting for! I wanted to knot seitan but retain a chicken breast look. Beautiful shreds!
Very impressed! I can’t wait to try this.
Your results are really amazing! Good for you!
Thanks
This looks amazingly good.
Your videos always give me motivation to try my hands on making seitan again. It just looks so good when you make it😋

Give it a go, You can do it! I recommend starting with 1/2 of the flour until you get comfortable with it.
I studied a few of her videos and on my first try the seitan turned out amazing. You can do it!
Plus, it gets easier the more you do it
New subie! This blew my mind🤯 So glad I found your channel. I doesn't even look difficult to make...Oh my word you're amazing. Thank you for sharing 🙂
Thanks you so much for sharing this! This is such a great form of advocacy!❤😊
Me encantan tus recetas 💜
I love watching your videos! Do you ever cook with vital wheat gluten to make seitan? Do you prefer the traditional washed flour method?
I actually started off using VWG. I do prefer the taste and texture of the washed flour method a whole lot better. My sticky rib recipe calls for VWG.
you blow my mind every single video. you're a seitan goddess! you seriously need a show!
Thank you! That’s a huge compliment. 😊 🙏🏻

Your videos are awesome! Curious if you could make birria from seitan, that would blow my mind 😆
I cook my vegan oxtails in birria sauce! They are sooo good! Check out that video, The recipe for the birria sauce is in the description box.
This looks amazing! Great job! I've been studying ur videos in preparation for my Meatless Summer. Wish me luck 🙂
Thanks for sharing and teaching me how to get it. This looks incredibly amazing. I always fail on the simmering method lol.
Very impressive and creative! I don’t think I have the patience to wash dough so will just stick with vital wheat gluten but I am impressed.
Gorgeous 😍
Thank you! 😊

Hello Yessica can coconut, almond flour be used instead ?
Unfortunately not, it must contain gluten.

It takes practice. I would say, the most important part to achieve the shreds besides the washing part is resting it and knotting it.
@@yessicainfante831 thank you I’ll try again ❤️

Can you tell me about the apple juice and spice s that you used to simmer the chicken in?
I totally forgot to add that. Thanks for catching it. I used a cup of apple juice and my favorite McCormick seasoning blend: Garlic Herb and black pepper sea salt.
I wonder if you could use the excess water/starch to water plants with?
I’ve used it after allowing it to rest and separate, so just the water part is used to water the plants.
@@yessicainfante831 Hmm, I asked because I've been known to throw all this sort of waste over my (outside) plants. The worms and bacteria seem to like it?
@@LindaCasey that’s good to know, thanks!
What’s the difference between washing the flour and using vital wheat gluten flour?
From my experience, I get a better texture and flavor.
Es normal que el gluten me quede chicloso?
No debe quedar muy chicloso al cocinarlo.
Can you premake the dough and freeze it?
I LOVE YOU
If using vital wheat gluten go to 8.20.
Mine does not shred as yours 😭😭😭😭
Maybe wash it a little more and make sure to knot it. Knotting is what creates the shreds.
@@yessicainfante831 and how come your looks so soft and shreddable when cooked.. do you shred it while its hot or cold..?
I knotted it but.. i dont know i will try againnn
Is there sound to this video or am I driving myself crazy for no reason😂
is your volume up.... lol
I hope your water is filtered. Cause if it's not, that would not be good.
Your pouring it down the drain
The last washing doesn't have nearly as much starch in it as the first two, so isn't harmful to the drains.
