I did this run yesterday night with a complete party and barely made it. This guy is amazing.

It's actually not that hard, I'm pretty sure that you're able and capable of learning the timing with a few diablos hunts. He's the best trainer. Black diablo's attack patterns have a slight delay if you're used to the regular diablos timings. So she's going to throw you off slightly.

On a different note, I’m still incredibly sad they took away the grinding noise Glavenus made when sharpening its tail.
For real. That was one of the coolest things about him! That sound mixed with the badass animation is what made him my favorite flagship
Astalos was my favorite flagship. The theme was unparalleled by any other(except elders). Not to mention that Astalos is an absolute phsycopath, getting distracted from killing things by killing things, along with the his moves, really made it the best fight by far.

If i could manage those guard points like you...
The Morph Slash is by far the easiest one to learn the timing of IMO, because it GP's basically the instant you press it, so you can wait until the very last second to pop it.
Also, don't forget you need points in Guard to be able to guard a lot of the heavier stuff.

I think he uses the savage axe to pinpoint the head/legs. Since this is a multiple monster quest, their stun/stagger threshold is absurdly low. Then saed when they fall down.

Edit: Nvm. Figured it out. You had temporal mantle on which had 2 guard jewels making it active.

Its more like for the KO point, also hitting monster in the axe mode is more of like gen 4 thing, in mhw u dont need it since ur SAED doesnt eat up the shield boost so GP+SAED is the better playstyle choice in mhw
Edit : btw i told this to a veteran hunter that just recently play mhw that still play like gen 4 yet got hit more and almost cart in the hunt, but when i told him how things go in mhw they said "gen 4 is good so why do i need to change my playstyle?" god i hate stupid veterans, i know u can play with ur own style but at least if classic style doesnt gave him a hard time in the hunt i wouldnt mind, different games/generation different rules

Was this because of the weapon ?. I also do those moves but monster just ignores my hits and just continuously keeps hitting me. Its always turns out a battle of attrition when we begin fighting

I gotta say being able to shoot slinger ammo into a monsters face and make it run into walls, off sides of cliff areas, and into other monsters was such a great introduction. So much fun

Artillery gems and the zorah master rank armor makes them stronger by kicking it up to lvl 5 so you'll do 100 or 100+

Why not use the amped axe state for your offense? I thought this state does more damage when monsters are KO because of the multiple hits.

Hey aki, can you give me a quick writedown on guard 1 vs 3 vs 5? I'm still not sure when to use wich and why.
1 is no longer enough 3 seems to be the magic number for most attacks. My friend uses guard 5 on his lance and some atacks still give him a large knockback so i would say 3
charged shield gives guard+2 so he basically got guard+3 when the shield is red.
@@sambathchhum8738 Ye I used to be on the "charged shield gives +2" but aki uses 5 in this run. Im just sure anymore how this whole guard system works anymore.
@@JaJaWeWe1 Lance main here, so basically in master rank guard 3/guard 1 and +2 with charge blade will only carry you to mr 2 star quests.
In master rank, there's just too many attacks that cause stagger.
Before in base world it wasn't so bad since monsters would let up after their worst, heaviest combos (looking at you nergigante), but now in iceborne every monster is much more aggressive (Black diablos straight up frame cancels, no endlag) which can get you killed if you only have 15% stamina cost reduction with guard 3.
The akantor armor in the thumbnail really caught me off guard. I was about to freak out thinking there could be an akantor lurking and I didn’t know
That zinogre tail whip @ 12:10 I freaking hate this move. This is like the only attack he gets me on because I can never tell when it's going to happen. I feel like it has no visual cue

This guy, THIS FUCKING GUY makes charge blade look broken, like thicc good, i love charge blade, both how it plays and the lore, but whenever i play the monster never behaves properly and just makes using it a living nightmare, i might just still need to get better at using it. Man.. you make the charge blade look so easy. I'm a s&s main trying to get into charge blade but I'm having trouble getting into the rhythm of when to use the ult and what combos to use to keep a flow of hits going. Its easy with s&s, you just spam attacks and adjust the angle to keep the momentum going!
Other way around for me, got the gist down with cb just need to learn to time better.

It's Nightmare Beta from Devil May Cry 1, you need either the Dante gauntlets or layered Dante gauntlets equipped to have it appear when you load pods into the slinger.

Elder dragon quests like teostra and kushala you can get by picking up there footprints in expeditions, after that you will unlock there optional quest

Push back on left joy stick and press Y or whatever the top button is on ps4 when you are about to do the SAED
Btw just in case you don't know, when you transition into axe through draw (r2 on ps4 for example) there is a split second of which you can guard point. I discovered this while soloing barioth so I can progress in story

how tf did you augment your weapon? thought you couldn’t do that in mastery rank yet?
You need to be hella end game. Most of the materials need for Augmenting weapons and armors are from The Guiding Lands with the areas being like rank 5 or 6. Im not there yet (currently rank 5 on two of four areas) but from what I heard, to augment armors and uncap their armor levels you need to hunt Tempered Elder Dragons that spawn at Rank 6 areas. So like a Tempered Daora will spawn occasionally at Rank 6 Ancient Forest area in the Guiding Lands. To augment weapons, you need materials from monsters that spawn at Rank 4 and up. Right now I can augment affinity to my Velkhana LS, but for me to augment it Health Regen I'd need to hunt Rank 5/6 monsters.

Thanks for the inadvertent tip bro. 👍 (I assume after shielding it's square and circle together R2 mid attack for shield charge, L2 for new spinning axe and leave it with shield charge for discharge?)

But then I kept watching... And noticed near perfect full discharge timing, use of your cat traps, frame perfect shielding, clutch claw utilization... This is amazing I will study and strive to play this well in the future.
