Regarding the family not wanting to help Tammy with her infected trach. It's easy to forget with her having gotten things together so well this season, but she was really abusive to everyone in the family in the past when she lived with them and acted as though they were all obligated to be her carer. I say good on them for not putting themselves in that situation again with her.

Exactly. Tammy has a huge sense of entitlement. But her family should be honest and tell her to make alternative arrangements. I do suspect though, that this is a TLC drama and they are desperate to finally show a more mature side of Tammy.

Tammy’s done a great job but Tammy burned bridges with every single one of her siblings. Them not helping her is her own fault. You can’t get mad when people don’t want to take your shit anymore even if you have changed. People don’t forget. And the fact that ALL of her siblings are showing no remorse about it says a lot.

On their behalf, sometimes doctors don't tell you you'll need caregivers until it comes time for pickup. Me and my mother weren't told my dad, who was dealing with cancer, needed a trained personnel/caregiver to deal with his complications if he was going home, until he was GETTING discharged. We'd already done a ton to set things up, talked to the doctor and nurses about how it'll be nice to just have 3 of us at home again, and nobody said anything about him needing a caregiver. They kept him instead, since we couldn't pay to get one of us trained, or a caregiver. He ended up dying in a nursing home of sorts, alone, and we weren't informed until the next day, because that was when they "realized". I'm still upset 6 years later.

Just because Tammy finally got the surgery, and she finally decided to do what she was supposed to, doesn’t change the DECADES that she didn’t do what she was supposed to. It doesn’t change the decades that she treated them like absolute dog shiz, and honestly she is the reason why her family is just done. This has probably been the least stressful year of their life. She even said “If they want to be in my life they need to listen to me.” Which is how she’s always treated them. She forces them with her attitude and abuses their care, and empathy until they were pushed to the point they were just done. She has no one to blame but herself. She has been a crap person to them, expecting them to give everything while giving them nothing but grief back in return.
Her finally doing what she’s supposed to doesn’t change, what she took from them to get there. Now, she’s reaping what she showed. They’re probably dreading her being back. That’s her fault. She wants respect but gives none, and their just done with it.

@@ingoc8446 Lemme tell ya, I thought I was the same way as you. That was until how horrible my sister started to treat me when she was doing heroin. She stole from me, she would have all these ne'er-do-wells and junkies come over to the house at all hours of the day which caused our dogs to bark at all hours, She treated me like dog shit. I'm not joking when I say she left the BIGGEST piles of shit in the toilet and refused to plunge it. I'm talking the size was something no human should be leaving. Sorry to get gross but this happened regularly. After her last overdose our mom who enabled her actions died. So when my sister came home I was the new man of the house and I have my dad to take care of. I told her she can't do drugs or have these people over. She looked me dead in the eyes and lied. So eventually I had to make good on my threat and give her the boot. That is when she crossed the line. She looked me dead in the eyes and told me I'm only kicking her out cause I can't "Pick on mom anymore!" I bend over backwards to help our mom when she was actively dying. My sister just drove a wedge between mom and I. My sister chosen her horrid life style over her own family. My sister died on my gf's birthday just months ago, I still feel nothing but anger and a lil bit of hate twords her. Which is extra hard on me cause I'm a Christian...so yeah I'm trying to come to terms and forgive her. My point is I hope you never have to go through what I been going through with my siblings. They pump your stomach area with CO2 to have room to work under the skin after making small incisions. They remove around 70-90% of your stomach (depending on how big is it). She lost 40lbs because she physically could not gorge herself like she was before. Reducing the size of your stomach doesn't change the natural urge to binge like she was before. This is why the doctors should not have done the surgery on her. She is not mentally mature enough to handle it and wasn't making progress in her mental evaluation. I don’t blame the family for not wanting to help. I had to care for my overweight grandmother who also has a temper but not as bad as Tammy. It’s a lot of work, from having to convince her to eat the healthy food that was made, to cleaning her, to slowly getting her to eat on a normal schedule, and keeping composed whenever she lashed out. The cleaning part wasn’t hard but the verbal interactions were harder. My mom wondered how I got along with grandma without getting (visibly) mad at her a single time. Cause I got mad, I just wouldn’t show it. So with someone like Tammy caring for her would be dang difficult, cause you probably can’t focus on your job of caring for Tammy without having some sort of argument. That’s exhausting.

Whether that’s just their personality in the first place or like in my case, health problems led to brain damage and that changed my father. He is no longer the same man that raised me and that’s not his fault. To say it is taxing on your mental health and happiness is an understatement… the amount of times I’ve had full blown panic attacks in the shower is probably in the hundreds at this point 😂 It’s hard to wrap your head around how they feel so negatively about helping and taking care of Tammy.. unless you’ve been there.. and then you completely understand it.

Around 1:00 my mom had the surgery and she was walking right after surgery. It’s painful but not in the sense that you can’t walk, it’s just your stomach, she could barely eat or drink anything after the surgery (she didn’t get a liquid diet) and basically had a “dumping” where she would almost cry puking everything out. She has also puked out blood, but she had to get a second surgery for scar tissue as well and overall she regrets her entire operation because she can eat anything at all without being full or having pain.
(idk the word for dumping in English but that’s what it’s called if you have to puke out your food immediately with an immense amount of pain and that can happen always after surgery). She’s also underweight with no way to gain the weight back because she can’t eat more. She wasn’t that fat, 90kg, but she did it to hopefully relieve some pain on her feet and back (disabled) but it only made everything worse due to fat loss and having absolutely no “cushioning” and she had stomach issues before. She would’ve reversed it if it was possible so that’s why I can’t really support these surgeries when someone is healthy enough to lose the weight on their own.

Tammy doesn't seem thankful for all their efforts of housing her, regardless of the cameras there or not. Her family must have a greaaat amount of patience, there are other families that would've given up on her and she would've been in the streets, but for her to give them the ultimatum on camera, "If they want to be part of my life, then they have to listen to me." ...oooof sis, if you want to be part of their life you also have to listen to them and respect when they say no....i wonder if TLC or Tammy would show us that she actually is thankful for not giving up on her, all the efforts of her family and letting her die or left on the streets....me being hopeful I guess

Ken, dw, that's how siblings work, we never apologize after a fight, we just hang out randomly and then we start talking back to each other

@@dakotareid1566 Well, sorry to hear that. Thank you for the education (not being sarcastic). I'm just saying how they stated it in the video, it was possibly to just bring up drama, but who knows really other than Tammy and everyone else around her. Thanks again for the education.
