I actually enjoy the people appreciating what a festering hellscape my 3rd precinct neighborhood (Longfellow) has become thanks to the smooth brained leftists running Minneapolis.
Thank you. As a Minnesotan and as a former chef I really appreciated your videos and was jacked that you came here for the fair. Even more pumped when you were on my favorite radio show.
As a long term Minnesotan, congrats on your natural instinct to the age old MN State Fair tradition of saying to a total stranger "I can't finish this, would you like to?" Then said stranger says (with zero weirdness) "Oh you betcha! Thanks a bunch!"
he missed the golden opportunity to stand by the sweet martha booth and wait for someone to come past with their giant, overflowing bucket, and ask if you could try one. :P
I attend Iowa State Fair and I do the same. There are two seperate skyglider routes at the Fair, one closed at 9pm and one at 10:30 pm. I attend Neyo’s concert and realized that the skyglider route that I should go was closed. So I gave my ticket to a stranger who wanted to go to the another route. She smiled and thanked me ❤
I think part of what makes Minnesota so unique is the fact that we have an annual celebration of the state where all cultures, demographics, generations and socioeconomic groups show up to celebrate together. It's an opportunity to recognize what the Minnesotan community really is. The great Minnesota get together!
Did you go? It’s almost all white. I suppose you’re right though, it would have been better if they bussed in all the Somalis, would have been very enriching.
I cannot begin to articulate my heartfelt gratitude for your time here. I'm so damn happy you got to experience my favorite Minnesota event, and even more than that, I LOVE THAT YOU LOVED MOUTH TRAP CHEESE CURDS!
Oh my gosh thank you so much for coming to our fair! We're proud of it and glad you liked it! And yes, you braved some pretty abysmal weather but ya get what ya get. Ope!
My wife and I saw you at the radio show!! You did great in front of so many people. You really do come across as a humble guy, and the way you take care of your family is so generous. From on Croatian to another, you're an inspiration! We'll be following you as your legend continues to grow!!
So many food options. So little stomach space. Thanks so much for stopping by and giving the Minnesota State Fair the respect is deserves! (Suck it Texas)
I’ve been to the MN State Fair every year since my mother was pregnant with me. I am now 30. It makes me so happy to see people from others states come and enjoy this big piece of our state’s culture and my personal family tradition ❤
Thanks for coming! the MN State Fair's my favorite place in the world, and even though this doesn't even cover 10% of what's available you really highlighted the community and creativity that the fair celebrates. Can't wait for the Twin Cities video! And the next time you come to town!
@@chefreactions Dang. We’re headed there tomorrow. We keep it simple, we stop at first beer tent we see and grab a beer. Kids get rootbeer. Then it’s pronto pups or corn dogs. We’re divided. Then check out some animals. The chickens/roosters barn is the best.
I went to the fair this year. Everything is expensive. But lots and lots of people have lots of disposable income. I am voting for Harris/Walz. Our Governor has to be doing something right in order for so many people to have money for the fair. A glass of lemonade was $9! Just plain lemonade....no booze!
Yes! Probably one of the most chaotic ways to first experience Minnesota. We have an awesome, overlooked food scene here. Hope you make it back man (also to get some hiking in up north!)!
So glad you had a good time. Ive literally never missed a year of the fair, this was year 40. Im loving all these creators showing our fair and how hot it gets here! I swear people think we live in a frozen tundra all year. Come back soon, chef!
That's so cool! I think I've missed maybe 4 years in 41 years. So many great childhood memories at the fair. Never missing it again, that's for dang sure! It's too good!
Thank you so much for coming Chef! We love our flyover state and adore our state fair. I hope that everyone was kind and that the food was delicious. Thanks brother!!
Yeah, one of the tricks to the fair is to go in a group. It helps with lines because you can divide and conquer, but then it also helps with food cost and food consumption. And if you're a beer drinker get ready for heaven. Including brews done only for the fair.
"The lesson is... never try." LOVE IT. Glad you had a good time at the Great Minnesota Get-Together. Looking forward to trying a lot of this stuff in the morning!
I’m an Iowan and went to the Minnesota State Fair for the first time this year and can confirm that the food is 100% better at Minnesota. BUT. You HAVE to get the giant egg roll. My mom is a Laotian immigrant and these are the only eggrolls I’ve ever had that can even come close. AND the pork chop on a stick is so god damn good.
I lived in the DSM for ten years. I've even worked in the Dairy Barn as a volunteer one year. I don't know what publication a thousand years ago said the ISF 'HAS to be on your bucket list,' but that thought has been perpetuated, and honestly, it's kind of overrated. I would've probably liked it more if it wasn't hyped so hard, because it's not a bad fair. It's just not this mecca of greatness. It's a state fair. If you've been to your state's fair, chances are, you've had the ISF experience. Never had the giant egg roll, though. My porkchop was dry AF. Never tried it again after the first time, probably got unlucky.
The fair is certainly an experience. My wife and I go 2-3 times a year and I grew up going to it so it seems normal to me but i love seeing first reactions to it. Glad you had a good time!
I'm stoked that you came here, this video was such a fun surprise on my subscriptions page! Your comments about the "birthing center" (and good MN accent impression!) had me cracking up.
Ahhhhhh!!!!! I'm so glad you liked it! I was there on opening day too, ate a bunch of food, and the only overlap we had was cheese curds 🤣 I loved the Galabao from Union Hmong Kitchen and Crab boil wings from soul bowl!
I've been waiting for this video to drop ever since I saw you were going to make an appearance in our humble state. Did not disappoint. Great KFAN appearance too!
Thanks for doing this! All of the food and things to see/do is why a lot of us locals go more than once, I usually go 2-3 times per year, I know people that go more than that. 😊
Love your videos!! So glad you experienced the fair & enjoyed the food (despite all the people)! Hope you come back to try out the new food/vendors next year too!
As a fellow left-handed food sniffer (I thought I was the only one), I have even greater respect for Chef Reactions and give this a 1 million out of 10.
I know some of that was good because it was like, oh shit, Chef showing some spontaneous emotions. Grats on all the success and I hope it keeps coming your way.
@chefreactions, as a Minnesotan that goes to the fair every year, I think I need to give you and even BIGGER shout out for rocking the Moonswatch! I’m styling with Pluto today.
So glad you got to the Great Minnesota Get Together! And you got to see Tom Dahill, one of the stalwarts of the Irish Traditional music scene in the Twin Cities!!! Even though I live in the neighborhood, I'm not able to get there due to mobility issues this year. It's one of my favorite places! How did you miss the Seed ART??? My favorite things to eat or drink are the Honey Lemonade at the Bee Booth in the Ag-Hort building, the Frozen Apple Cider Pop at the Apple Booth in the Ag-Hort building (it's just frozen apple cider but it's so refreshing in the heat), the Corn at the Corn Roast (extra charred). The Wild Rice Cheeseburger with grilled onions (next to the Niro Ice Cream place in the Food Building) is also just such a great burger, it just hits the spot every year. The kettle corn in the North woods area is also a favorite, it's salty and sweet and hot. I guess I'm pretty boring when it comes to my favorite foods there. I really wanted to try the Indigenous Food Lab and Hmong Street Kitchen this year.
Bridgeman’s! There were 2 Bridgeman’s in Rochester at one time and 2 of my sisters worked there in the 70’s. They had amazing ice cream and food. I really miss that place.
This is so cool! I love your videos and I love in MN and have been going to the fair for about 40 years now! I'm 44! The beenana pie was amazing! Thank you for visiting and making this video, SO COOL! I also want to thank you for comparing why tx fair isn't 'bigger'!
Been going to the MN state fair every year since I was 15. I wasn't gonna go this year until I watched this video. I still haven't tried most of this stuff. Great Video!
Yay!! I’m so glad you had fun here! It was so cool seeing you try all the things I grew up eating at the fair. You need to come back next year and try other items you didn’t get a chance to try and check out all the new items that come out!
If you ever make it to the MN State Fair again, would highly recommend getting the sandwich from Turkey to Go, Garlic Fries from Ball Park Cafe, and Jalapeno Spam Curds from the SPAM booth
The Minnesota State Fair used to be the largest agricultural exhibition in the USA, where all the farm related businesses would come to show off their products. Now however, the agriculture part is greatly reduced and it's more a food tasting event.
Reminds me of my childhood. Nothing has really changed at the MN State Fair within the past 25 years. That’s good to see. Of everything that has changed in MN, it’s good to see the MN State Fair is the same. Definitely the highlight of MN Culture.
I have a small business that serves local restaurants. A few years ago I shared a communal kitchen with a small restaurant that got the call to do Hush Puppy Balls for the State Fair. They had to make 150,000 of them as Proof they could hang. They had a team working round the clock for a couple weeks. It cratered the business. You were great on the Power Trip. They obviously genuinely liked having you on, and you seemed genuinely happy to be a part of it.
So glad you liked it! If you ever come back you should try the walleye cakes at Giggles, it’s like a crab cake but made with the official state fish! That and the dill pickle beer is my go-to combo for lunch.
AND the buckets that the cookies come in serve as great "Tupperware" when you're done with the cookies 🤣 We actually use them for dog water dishes for outside haha and hubby uses them for misc storage of screws and nails, etc in the garage. 😎
Your content makes me laugh! Glad you could visit my home state and enjoy the MN State Fair. We hope you come back. I'm sorry I missed you! Was there two days (but not the hot ones).
Super enjoy your TikTok videos, and glad you got to swing by our State Fair! The beer flights are the best, and there's some great work happening with recycling the grains after to feed livestock.
Glad you enjoyed our great State Fair! You tried some things I've never even considered. (the shaved ice, nitro ice cream) I've been every year for over 50 years, (other than 2020) and I don't think I've ever even seen the Bridgeman's truck. You really got the short end of the weather stick; it was gross hot, which always makes it harder to eat.
Great to have you stop by. You could make it a yearly trip & it'd take you 50 years to try everything. Good to see you enjoyed it. Next year, try the wild rice burger in the food building.
If you're still in Minneapolis, I highly recommend stopping at Pumphouse Creamery on Chicago. They have a lemon-infused olive oil ice cream that is amazing.
I grew up in MN - still live there. Going to the fair didn't used to be so much about the food, but it sure is now. Even "bad" food at the fair is good. Thank god it's just once a year because you can't eat this kind of stuff more than once a year - if even then. Nice to see your review. Now we know what ya look like!
I follow your content elsewhere and was so tickled to see you pop up in my UA-cam suggestions at our state fair!! Glad you enjoyed some fantastic noms in Minnesota!
There are few things in this world Minnesotans love more than hearing other people tell them how great MN is.
This is so true!

It used to be, with walz and black people destroying everything, its not what it once was.
