    He’s not just height it definitely helps but Yao definitely could ball dang injuries.

      Yao was legit. As far as guys that size he’s probably the best one (we’ll see where Wemby ends up) but Yao’s footwork and touch around the rim was so smooth. I’ll never forget rookie Yao giving prime Shaq problems

    I believe Yao learned English by ear just like kids learn to speak. He speaks better than people who learn English from school.

      Turns out it was more than enough.
      To learn a language you don't need to study every single word but to hear it more often, your brain will figure out what's the context of the word later.

      @@saraosori14 if you have 1 bad ear you've still got 1 good ear. If you close your left ear will you hear significantly less? On top of that he easily communicated with shaq and doesn't need him to repeat the words.

      @@CallMeShiba I don’t really know why you’re being so defensive over me praising Yao ming😂 i’m not gonna read all that but being deaf in one ear is a huge inconvenience when having conversations period, let alone when you’re trying to learn a foreign language through speaking. It is much more difficult to navigate conversations especially in crowded areas like an arena (interviews, fans, etc screaming cheering). It’s a huge imbalance that affects FAR more than just speaking and conversations. To act like there is no difference between 1 ear and 2 is insanity. 😂

      Tall doesn't mean you're automatically bound to play in the NBA tall doesn't mean good at basketball, There's shorter players and there good too

    • @JohannGambolputty22
      @JohannGambolputty22 2 роки тому +81

      @@kezitoisdope9609 17% of all 20-40 year olds over 7 feet play NBA basketball (allegedly). Anyone 7’5” has even higher chances. Any kid playing basketball will be scouted; 100% chance regardless of skill level. Him being 7’6” puts him at a laughably high chance of being groomed for the NBA. In China specifically any 10 year old exhibiting high growth is immediately recruited into a national basketball academy. Yao was 9, and already 5’5”. While simply being tall will not get an NBA jersey handed to you, of course you have to put the work in, but not nearly as much as someone who is 6’ tall. Those “shorter” players you refer to have to overcome extreme defensive disadvantages, someone who is simply a tall goal tender has a genetic advantage and it’s highly sought after.
