      Good point.
I have 7 siblings and our biological mother and father married before all of us were born and he passed away 30 yrs into their marriage in 2001. Our parents raised us under 1 roof. (I say all of this to express that my father wasn't an absent father attempting to defend a fellow absent father).
When Shaq was a younger man and stubborn, not wanting to meet his biological father, I recall my father saying if Shaq lived long enough to become wiser, he'll want to meet his father despite what occurred in the past...my father continued to say and if Shaq still has money, he should also be willing to give some to his father.
I was a teenager at the time and asked, "why?"
My father explained that the longer a person lives, their life experiences will bring them to become more empathetic to others.
As for why he should give him money, my father said had it not been for the combined genetics of both biological parents, Shaq wouldn't have the physical stature that has him making the money he's making.
Edit: to add to that, as a 44-yr old man today with a wife of 16 yrs and 3 children, I think it's also a great idea to meet your biological parents to learn of family medical history (mental and physical) that you may otherwise be oblivious to.

Biological does not necessarily indicate Real. Real means actual
Are, existence, actionable. In my opinion, his real father is the actual man who was in his life to nurture, worry over, cry over, teach, discipline and Love. That is that man who was there in his life. Thanks for the biology, but biology does not the loving, caring, successful, gentle, respectful man make.🌹💞❤💜💛

I always think that people who biological parent wasn't in their life they really feel they are missing something. It shows with not only Shaq. I am not Shaq and others who missed out on not have one of both of their biological parents in their life. I know people who didn't have their biological parent(s) in their life. I have to say, I always wanted to have a child and wanted to adopt a child. I've seen when that child wanted to be with their biological parent and how it hurt the parent that was that was raising that child as their own. I have to say, I know I would make it about me. There was no way I would adopt a child, because that would've hurt me to the core. As I stated, it is something that the child feels their missing. I call it a hole that in some cases can't be filled. I know I would feel hurt instead of understanding how the child/adult child may feel. I would think I was dishonored and/or disrespected as a parent. Yes, I would see myself as that child's parent as if I gave birth to that child. I wonder if Shaq thought about what his father that raised him would think. I personally feel who love, raise you, are the for everything or most things with you is the parent. A parent doesn't have to be blood related. Again, it's easy for me to say. I have to say I wondered if someone came in my life and claimed to be my biological father how would I feel and react. I know me and the person who raised me would be my father and I wouldn't want any dealings with that person. I would be respectful, no doubt. I know me and know I wouldn't be interested and would never disrespect the father that raised me. If Shaq wasn't who he is, would his biological father want to get to know him or want to be in his life? Shaq mother knows her, so maybe she feels that is what Shaq need or want. Why didn't she want Shaq to meet him when her husband was alive?
