Heyyyyy lovelies, in this video we are trying a new technique with Jesmonite AC100 and silkscreens being laid directly down in to a silicone mould. We are using jesmonite AC100 and Epoxy Resin to fill the mould in the hopes of creating a striking contrast between the jesmonite AC100 and Epoxy.

Love this! You should try this with jesmonite instead of regular resin. So that the silkscreen image is embedded into the background jesmonite! 😊

Fun fact there was actually a penumbral lunar eclipse sunday night/monday morning. Its not a huge exciting eclipse but it did happen 😂

@@ClairesCraftyCorner I really pushed it down with a scraper (a slighty stiff one made for kitchensinks) and made sure that it was well wiped off.

Such a brilliant idea!! I love how this came out. Top coating the front would probably protect the jesmonite so it doesn’t chip/ scratch, but I totally see what you mean about having the contrasting matte images. I guess if you’re not intending the item to be handled a lot you could leave it, but I’d be interested in seeing what it looks like top coated.

You mentioned doing the silk screens with mica. I am very interested seeing how that comes out. I am already using stencils, baby lotion and mica on trays (Comes out so fabulous. Were a hit for Christmas) and have been looking at silk screens to widen my pattern selections.

Just wondering if the thin layer of jesmonite would scratch off, considering it hasn't been sealed? It looks lovely, with the matt against the gloss, and I love the colours, but not sure if it would be practical to use.
Heyyyyy lovely.... no ... the resin has bound to it but ..... if you were to scratch it or hack it ... yes ... there is a chance it could chip it 😢😢

it shouldnt scratch off no - it is embedded in resin xx resin will hold on to it xx it doesnt need sealing unless its going to get wet x

Sorry I don't know much about resincrete or jesmonite, but is there a way to seal it without losing the matte effect when using it this way? Can you use this technique to make coasters or will any water/condensation effect it? It came out stunning, I feel making coasters like this would be so amazing
heyyy lovely - you could seal the jesmonite using a cotton bud or just a cloth and then wipe the sealer off of the resin - BUT - jesmonite does not need to be sealed unless fully planning on it getting wet or being used for drinks. I wouldnt probably make coasters with this effect or if I did - I would resin top coat anyways xxx
