I remember playing the Throne of Darkness when it was first releasing and it was my first saga in AQW after simply playing the main game for years. One of my favourite mini stories in gaming. Gotta love the writing in AE games.
Id love to see you make another retrospective those clips are fucking wildd ive never seen someone with such a passion and love for a 2d game and i can just tell you watching the whole retrospective on the chaos saga has brought tears to my eyes knowing that this game has been my whole entire childhood and has given me so many great memories i literally grew with this game and even though its not near perfect im grateful for it being part of my life no matter how corny that sounds i just wanna go back in time and experience it again but i cant and your retrospective videos have brought me a sense of closure knowing that i at least experienced some of the greatest highs of this game and ill probably never forget the feeling i had while playing this game as a kid. Sorry for the long parahraph just wanted u to know i gladly appreciate u putting so much effort into a game that gets barely any views on youtube. wish u all the best in life

Fun fact: At 20:08 part of that release was actually made by some friends/guildmates of minem that's why their NPCs representing their characters are there. I think it was for the "write a release" contest. My memory is fuzzy but I think they wrote the BaconCat release a a joke. The Stars Release featuring Prime and Final were also my guildmates. Also at 38:03: If you checked the rep/AC shop for the DarkthroneHub/Mysterious Dungeon area, I am credited for the Black and Gold BLoD recolor. :D Unfortunately its only in the description of the AC version, because later on AE/Artix decided to use the rep version for a questline involving Artix's son who "inherited" it. and told me that for lore reasons they needed to change the description of the earned version, but my name is still on the 500 AC version
To be fair, Vaden's chef WAS Cooking random travelers. (I guess Pink forest was way to stop Artix.) And yeah I do love how Sekt went "FUCK THIS SHIT I'M OUT" when he saw Tachyon Blades (and fact he is only one remembering Xeven's full story being repeated). (And how Sekt fried Ziri's brain.)

It still bothers me that they never followed up on that ending.
Really counting on someone making something similar on the remaining sagas, but I will do an analysis on Darkon's saga eventually, just because I really like that one
Since I don't know if u read comments in older videos I'm going to comment in this one, but I'm still at the part 2 of the Retrospective. Try doing some things: Use your voice better. Sometimes it felt like u were recording this after 3 days without sleeping and I could barely hear you even with REALLY loud volume. Then, from nowhere you talk loud as fuck and I would have to turn the volume down... Also, in the same note, try maintaining the volume level the same through out the whole video so I don't have to be turning the volume up and down and having these moments were it's too loud or too low. That's is literally the MOST important thing. EVERYBODY would watch a video with bad images, NO ONE would watch a video with bad audio. Not that the audio was "unwatchable" but I won't lie, if there was any other retrospective in youtube without these issues I would watch that over yours just because audio is THAT important. That said: you're a very good youtuber, your videos are great so far, I'm subscribing and will be here for more!

Say do you think you could do a retrospective on Elegy of madness? There isn't a video around that goes into the entire storyline due to how dense it is and easy to get lost if you miss one paragraph. It would beamazing to have one vid that finaly covers the whole thing.

Thanks man, I'll see if I feel like making more in the new year. Regarding infinity, I've been following the production closely. I'm not expecting too much. Of course there will be the new engine, animations and hints of new mechanics, but they stated that all maps won't be there on launch. I think this gives them a good opportunity to connect the world more. I don't really like how all maps NEED the map command to be accessed. It breaks my immersion a bit. If they made natural connections, and every release visible on the world map, I would be ecstatic and more invested in each locations. As for the Queen of Monsters, she is the one who manipulated the previous main antagonist (Drakath), to create the 13 Lords of Chaos. She then becomes the main antagonist for the second major storyline of the game. The reason I skipped her story, and went straight to the Throne of Darkness, is because it is difficult to retell her story in the current format of my videos. It is a very continuous saga, but it also constantly changed story direction, becase of fan backlash. I would need to restructure my approach of including all the side stories and miscellaneous releases, because it would hinder the flow of the video, and make my retelling unfocused, when it desperately needs a concise red thread. I want to document as much as possible, but it wouldn't make for a good video in my opinion.
@@bonaquadorRegarding the map command, I don't think they'll change it because it is the literal foundation of how travelling works, to change it would mean to change the system from the ground up. That being said, a better map layout would be nice and a mini guide for new players to guide them in the right direction while also letting them know about different maps they may want to visit. There's a TON of maps that most veteran players don't even know exist and there's no way of knowing unless you research. I have heard that the Queen of Monsters story had a ton of backlash, in terms of content, is the story finished or still a work in progress? Cuz in the map section after the 13 Lords of Chaos I saw there was a BUNCH of more story (like 3/4x the size of 13 Lords). One thing I'm very excited about Infinity is the new progression system which hopefully replicates that nice feeling of progression from other RPGs/MMORPGs because unless you knew what you were doing, you would constantly hit walls during the 13 Lords Saga because bosses were too strong and players were too weak.
