this entire series is so binge-watchable, I'm genuinely so suprised this doesn't have more attention to it. Really well made man, appreciate the work alot.
I would consider the Chaos Lord saga to be the peak of not just AQW, but probably the whole indie MMORPG scene as well. You know the storyline was lit when even people who don't play that game knew who Drakath was and could make educated guesses on who's the 13th Lord of Chaos was.
This was a fantastic summary of what happened during the peak years. Thoroughly enjoyed the nostalgia aspect.

Bro Kezeroth’s quest line so far was the best seasonal one I remembered crying at Athon’s sacrifice just to enjoy Frostval.
AH-MAZING!!! I wanted to watch some AQ content while I grind for the remainder of the coveted RGoW. Drawbacks aside, playing this game and helping others fight bosses which I used to think were unbeatable is what brings me back to this game every other week or so. I came back to this game back in March this year and grinded all of the end game farms and ultras, of which I wrote out an entire .pdf on all of them. I resumed my journey at level 88 and grinded Legion Revenant, because I have always been a fan of Dage. Thank you for making this series for us to remember in the years to come, even if the games survies or not. Nostalgia always wins. Thank you BonAquaDor.
Just finished watching the whole retrospective, and I instantly want to rewatch it. Seeing someone show the same love for a weird browser RPG with terrible gameplay, that I also share (and with a danish accent ❤) has been magical. Thankyou!
Just resumed playing AQW for the first time in a while, as I do about once per year, and your series has been very fun to watch as a recap. Great job!
Man im so glad i found this. You did a amzing job I enjoyed every second of this lore retrospect. Finally someone makes a lore video for aqworld content, aqworld has its flaws but for those who read the stories its actually pretty good glad you shined a well deserved light on it. I really look forward to more of these if possible.

This has been a full on nostalgia trip, getting to relieve one of the most influential games of my childhood and seeing the Chaos Saga finally ending (didn't finish it back in the day). bruh, having to go inside the game just to rewatch the entire chaos saga again was kind of a chore, but with these videos really help to rewatch it again. Many thanks! sad there wont be part 2 but just this is enough! Battle on!
I may be a bit late seeing the whole series but I enjoyed every bit! After I discovered part 1 I definitely had to binge watch everything to the final part.

These 3 videos are amazing! I've always wanted an aqw retrospective. I remember this game from my childhood and I never had the chance to fully complete the chaos saga and early parts before I stopped playing. Though I do distinctly remember loving the Kezeroth questline when it came out!

I've genuinely enjoyed the series. I know you've replied saying you wont cover the new sagas but i hope one day you can find the time to enjoy the process of going through the storylines and happenings during the time periods. Subscribing and turning on notifications in the hopes i see a part 4!
I'll probably start working on Throne of Darkness in October when I get on vacation, should be manageable 🤫
Daaaang, the new sagas are what keep me playing today. The story has become very in depth and you now play with your favorite npcs, not literally but most of them guide you through the new stories because of how intense they are. I love how the new sagas also get oddly philosophical at some points. Maybe if you ever do decide to make videos on them, it could be split up, like how the throne of darkness was in one storyline and video. The malgor sagas could be done like that, since the later sagas don't require as much backtracking as the earlier quests do.
@@zacharyphillips8551 People are gassing up Darkon's saga, so I'll play through it and see for myself if I want to cover it.
If the themes go deep enough, then I'd be inclined to do a more analytical video, instead of just retelling the story.

This may honestly be my favourite trilogy of videos ever released on this goddamn platform, holy shit. What a fucking picture perfect landing, never once dulling in quality, always staying at the highest level possible. For this to be your first real video project it is unfathomably impressive. I get that this was a major passion project but I would still love to see whatever it is you may put out in future if you do decide to put out anything else at all. just got back into the game last month after six years of not playing, the nostalgic factor really is big factor to enjoying this game XD loved the work and the obvious passion, you get a sub ^^
man what a great trilogy of videos, imo the best videos of aqw on youtube, i started playing when i was 9 years old in 2016, i love this game, and i have a lot of nostalgia for this game especially the earlier sagas when i was still a newbie, next year my childhood dream will finally come true, i will finnaly will be to acess nostalgia quest. also when inffinity realese i will create a new acc just to re-experiencing the old maps, just playing and collecting the classes as i advance in the story, amazing video!

This game was my childhood, I have nothing but fond memories of it...and frustrated memories of me spending way too much time trying to get Rustbucket class thinking it was the best thing ever...only to realize how lame it was...

As a long time player (over 15 years now) it's a trip down all the memories I have of AQWorlds. It's sometimes hard to believe that this game survived my entire life, i've been playing since i was 9 years old
Also a side note: sad to not see any of my video clips here :cries: I used to do a lot of aqworld videos, would have been cool. Especially in regards to the Chaos Finale.
Ironically my old aqworlds character was a "chronolord", Funny that we ended up BEING the Head-honcho of the Chronomancers so to speak
Thank you so much, I actually did watch a few of your videoes for research. Looking back, you had the perfect video for the 4th birthday event, showcasing the other AE games being "Ebil-fied". I regret not finding that one at the time.

@@bonaquadori was also reminded of that 10th anniversary ebilcorp video too, i just wish i wasnt so bad at making videos back then xD rewatching it just now, the audio sounds atrocious. It wasn't until much later that I got at least a bit better about recording quality and audio. one thing that didnt help was how laggy the game used to be, especially during the Chaos Finale back then. The chaos Finale really went all out that many of the cutscenes were pretty low FPS
It's funny that were both Chaos Lord and Chaos Beas; the Chaos Usurper, Slayer and Avenger...Eternally Chaorrupted as Time distorts Chaos and Chaos distorts Time
I have always thought that we might be related to Drakath because we were able to use chaos items from the very start without being chaorrupted, I understood when they released this finale that we were always already corrupted through retroactivity, the only surviving Chaos Lord, both the first and the last.
It was fun to vent some of my frustration of being a hero out at lore...
And now we are so many things its weird to think back...
We're irrecoverably eternally chaorrupted, have Kathool the Chaos Beast Primordial God of the Deep in our head AND now the Arcana being hosted in our flesh through symbiosis. Oh and Doom...since VDK is a canon class...we also have lots pf doom in there...I wonder how many migraine potions our hero uses.
When I asked Cylisse if this state of us had consequences for anything trying to interact with our mind Cylisse said that she couldn't talk about that on twitter.
Also as a Hero who fought to end the world let me just mention that it took cheats to prevent us from getting the Lair...which is why it was counted as a tie officially...which pretty much meant that chaos had won...again xD
Man I hope we can be the villain again in the future

It was kinda meh that they pretty much overruled/did nothing with Battleon's Destruction beyond some stuff and Northpointe...which was forgotten about btw...
The Queen got edge lorded by Malgor who sucked till Cylisse smh pulled a miracle, titans being released was forgotten, the queen sadly underused
Ae made a massive mistake with the story back then and had Darkon not pulled me back with his saga I would've likely left...

just one thing although it’s late, the armour and blade of awe were actually released sometime 2011-2013 if i remember correctly, they redid the quests it used to be easy to get back in day maybe took a couple hours

Lol man these were really awesome. I wonder where they will take AQW next? This entire series was an amazing walkthrough with my childhood, I loved every second, and the armor progression on the characters was also really cool to see, some stuff that I always thought were also mob drop items to have 😂
First person to comment on the armors. Now the grind to get a new set each arc has been validated 🤸♂️
I played back when the Nulgath vs. Dage events were happening, and to say the community was split on the decision would be an understatement - players so were disappointed, and rightfully so as AE basically ruined the event finale. To this day I believe Nulgath should have stayed as the main big bad of the Underworld, and Dage could have had a different outcome.
I remember taking at least a year break after that, as many of my other buddies on AQW decided to step away from the game for a good while. I eventually came back around a year or two later, but by that time I only have maybe 1-2 friends who were still active.
I really Hope you get around to covering some of the other storylines. And the Release history

I'm glad you enjoyed it, but the series will most likely be on hiatus indefinitely. Took work off all summer to make those 3 videos, but now that I'm back on the grind, the production cycle would be too slow for me to enjoy making them 😔
I think even with your lack of experience with the following story line I think just playing through the release and exploring how far the narrative and also game has come along would be interesting
What an absolutely phenomenal series you have created, I recently finished the 13th Lords of Chaos but stopped playing the game after. Is the Queen of Monsters finished or is it still in progress, would love the retrospective for that part of the story. If not then maybe you could make an in depth beginners guide for anyone that wants to play AQW, I know I wish I had one when I played it. Thanks for the amazing series, can't wait for the next part (you know it will happen)

Thanks, it really means a lot😁, but I likely won't continue the series. These videos were only possible because I had so much spare time during summer vacation and because I was so familiar with the source material.
I haven't played QoM and beyond on release, so I couldn't possible do it justice while stuDYING as my main occupation 😔

Just pointing, in 01:36:00 we saw something that is true... The creator of the art that was foundational for the AQW was the savior of the dead line plot of our own death... He is our lord and saviour, the Abyss General, the Great Archfiend, The fiend of the Underworld!

They should start kicking afks, and merge the less populated servers with the more populated ones like artix and yurumi to encourage actual gameplay. People log in to play just to be met with a shjt tone of afks at the 3 most visited maps outside events battleon/town/and yulgar.
