I live in the Piedmont area of NC. We have & are sending supplies to the mountains of NC. We were blessed, we only got rain & winds as Helene passed by us. The NG is requesting socks & energy bars so I’m taking them to my church tonight.
@@GbHill59 thanks you so much for your kind support to your community and state. I’m also happy to hear that you and your family have been blessed. Keep up the good work. Thank you for sharing. 👍😃
Thank you, this has made me realize how important radios are to have in a disaster. Yet another thing not covered in the main stream media, which is fine with me.
@@missiallen-mde-2608 you’re welcome. This is why I have my channel. Trying to promote the Amateur Radio Service. Please subscribe if you haven’t already. Stay well.
@@mikecricket113 Thank you, I have subscribed. In listening to the conversations today, I am realizing that I should probably upgrade from the base models that I currently have, make sure that I have the repeaters saved in them in my area and I guess I need to get my license, which is something I have delayed in doing. I was shocked in listening today that there are cell towers in WNC that should be functional but that the generators are not on, that portable cell towers were brought in, and the data portion turned off. Hearing this has made me realize just how important coms are. Thank you for the channel. I am not sure how I came across you but I will hang around.
Two channel you need to sub to for this kind of info is force 13 and S2 underground. They give real time storm tracking and real time intelligence of what is happening on the ground. I will text you some links.

A lot of great info recorded here. I’m familiar with the area they are referring to. I made many deliveries on my job throughout that area.
Great content Mike!
Thanks for the helpful information on this one.
