Ive watched a couple of your videos and will have to say you seem very sincere and dedicated to your activities. You do a lot without a lot of tools. Wish you lots of success.
I'm from Sarawak, Borneo / Malaysia. On Gawai Festival,we'll have a blowdart competition, where all champion from every state gathered not only showing the accuracy but the also the difference types of blowguns that r uses.....
I would love to attend your Festival! Is it always in June? I know I couldn't compete but would love to try! I will be traveling again soon and wish to visit your most wonderful part of the world. Big ❤ from Kentucky
Ive bn building blowguns for 20 odd yrs now along with slingshots, crossbows, firearms and other weapons. I still got my 625 cal pvc double layered for no sag blowgun. Can hit chalk sticks from 10m pretty consistently now. Took while to work out the aiming but persistence paid off. Got really good lungs from practicing. I use steel wire from bicycle wheel spoke. Thin but very rigid n penetrates unbelievably well. I also use dowels with surgical razor blade heads for hunting. It chopped pigeons head off
I have hunted with the long dart blowgun, usually rabbits. It works very on larger game. You trade range (which usually you do not need) for power. It works well for fishing too. I run a ten-foot small braided line through the blowgun, and tie it around the mouthpiece end of the gun. I tie the other end to the back of the dart. Load it up, stuff the line in after it and it works great. good to about a twenty inch depth with a heavy long barbed dart. The line through the gun gives you a way to haul the fish in. If you want to get really fancy, attach a plastic bottle to the gun at right angles with an airtight seal, and stuff the line into that. It will pull out of the bottle as the dart flies. It is counterintuitive, but Boyle's law sees to it you don't lose pressure because of the bottle. Takes a little more breath, but not really noticeable. I make a mouthpiece with a tee on it threaded for the bottle.
@@AdlerMow If you add another pipe of plastic or metal on the outside then it gets pretty stiff and bend resistant that you can use it as walking stick without risk. Get a cane shoe that fits and you are set.
Absolutely, it was the world's deadliest blowgun for that squirrel that was your honor to consume and yours truly enjoyed this instructional build, hunt, and cook. It is amazing to me that such a homemade blowgun and darts proves to be so versatile and powerful enough for taking game from squirrel or dove-size all the way up to hog and then even deer. I am a new subscriber and have yet to see a blowgun fishing hunt, but I anticipate that it would be just as educational and exciting.
Same here bro, and it takes me back to when I was growing up hunting squirrels with my grandpa. I also remember when my great grandmother made a big pot of squirrel dumplings my cousin ate 3 bowls of the stuff. While my cousin was working on her 3rd bowl she was praising how good the “chicken and dumplings” were. My great grandmother told her that it wasn’t chicken, and asked what kind of meat it was. The second she found out she was actually eating squirrel she did and immediately did a 180. Then all of a sudden talking about how nasty the taste was, and how she only ate it because she was hungry.
Half inch copper pipe has an outside diameter of .625. If you sand it down a bit, it will fit inside a half inch steel conduit pipe. Making your blowgun considerably stronger
Could even use the classic PV electric installation pipe of the right size to add some stability with minimal extra weight. No matter what type of pipe, if it's not snug enough so does masking tape work very well to thicken up the inner tube to fit more snugly.
If I may suggest to NOT use "lead" wire as lead is toxic, so you don't want to contaminate the meat of small game.... I use a fine 100% copper wire which twists easy.
So many animals are shot with lead ammunition and this is the first time I've ever heard that it is bad for the meat. That tiny lead wire is not going to make the meat bad.
I like this. Think I will try a blow gun that's 4 feet long. We have a lot of thick woods, and a shorter length would probably be easier to move through the brush.BTW: We were having problems with racoons getting into the barrels of horse feed. We used live catch traps. Racoon meat lends itself well to barbeque.
That was an awesome video, thanks for the knowledge on building those darts. I'm going to make some for my blow gun . I got one of tim wells ones, and don't really know how I got it because they don't ship to California. I also appreciate the no how to build the gun it's self, seeing how it mite of been necessary because where I live.
I inherited my step dads blowgun. Sticker says survival blowgun is aluminum and splits into 2 parts, shorter and longer. The longer one, i sharpened the exit hole so it cuts perfect circles out of foam i hot glue to spokes or coathanger or welding rods. Diameter is very narrow, makes a great stab implement with the sharpened end of the longer section, and i can always have each side loaded for a quick, shorter immediate second shot. Stud nails make okay ammo, but they are heavy as hell and move slower and go shorter distance, but when they hit they sink in good, ive had to retreive them from tree trunks with a hammer.
You should research the story of the pilots and the headhunters in Borneo in WW2 and thier bow gun tactics against the Japanese. You will find it very interesting.
Thanks for the lessons on Blowgun that included making the darts. I had never seen Darts that long before this!! Usually the darts are short steel ones 5 or 6 inches long!! What Timber and what Diameter did you use to make the Shafts of the Darts with?
You should use a 1/4" 1095 high carbon dowel and forge the point in. Heat treat and spring temper the whole shaft. Will have far more energy and not flex as much in flight.
Good stuff, very cool, do t see many guys usin blow guns, let alone home made ones and gettin them out. Squirrel sure is good eatin, been awhile since i had any. Just outta curiosity, whats the weight on that blowgun overall?
Buddy: Bro that thing is cool. Where’d you learn how to do that, and what gave you the idea to improvise that way? Best friend: MacGyver 1985 season 2 episode 15 scene 10 “The Blowgun Fishing Mystery”.
Dart wont penetrate if its light . But a light and long darts can travel so far and they are super accurate. I have used some meat skevers and they are the esiest to use but just dont have that penetrating power.
That sure was a human looking turd! lol. Man I’m 53 and still shoot my blowgun. I tell you what, I’m positive you could’ve taken a doe with that dart, if I’m season of course
Wish youtube would allow me to show it without ads being removed. Just did the pull method there are a few videos on youtube doing it. Works great to keep hair off the meat.
Question what state in what town are you hunting in. I do envy you. I live in a desert. There is really no hunting in here. I am disabled so I cannot get out to do anything anymore but I do like watching your show. Keep it up. I glanced, at those glasses you got that looked like a bomber. Pilot's glasses Please get rid of those. go back to your prescription glasses and get auto tint on your glasses They look much better. They don't look like a hand-me-down from your dad.L.O.L. But yes, your normal glasses do look much better than the fighter. Pilot glasses did not look good, but where are you? Hunting, is it Texas or is it Arkansas? I think Texas. I can't do none of that. No more, PS, have a good day.😊 And I can't wait to see more of your videos.
Ps have you thought about using a fishing bank stick with camouflage tape would be perfect for holding the shot save the pipe moving everywhere and perfect for tree shots try one out
Pps or a very small laser of the catapults you can get the for about £7 I've bought them just for lasers alone for my work tools because to get a small one is expensive
Your accuracy is not that good You could very easily improve it, by putting a sight on the from, Using even a small piece of wire sticking up about eye level, 2 to 1/2 inches

This would be so amazing to go to!

What sizes of PVC do you use to make your blowgun?

Why not put a fishing reel on your blowgun and an eyelet at the end for fishing and use the blowgun as fishing rod
I also find .5 diameter far more effective. You can eliminate sag in longer pipes by attaching a broom stick to blow pipe.
Take that further and stick together walking stick or a spear to your blowgun!
@@AdlerMow If you add another pipe of plastic or metal on the outside then it gets pretty stiff and bend resistant that you can use it as walking stick without risk. Get a cane shoe that fits and you are set.
Thanks for showing how to make the cones, brilliant. 👍

Glad to see more of your blowgun work. Really enjoying the content. Please keep it coming

that actually happened to me when Ithought I was eating some asada tacos but they were actually tongue tacos!
I just found this channel! Subscribed keep up the blowgun hunting an you will be my fav channel!
Appreciate that! Been subbed to you a long time I have watched your blowgun stuff
Lol that’s so funny keep up the good work brother!@@tristinriddle101
Another great video Tristen thanks I think I'm going to build one myself. This is the best how-to blow gun on UA-cam. Good job man!😅
Love the intuitiveness, of this! Good job!
Fick verkligen inspiration, detta ska jag absolut försöka mig på , thanx 🙏
Small suction cups for tiles etc work great for darts you can buy them in different sizes in packs saves any work making them

The one eigth bamboo skewers and #11 exacto blades make great blowgun darts and they are light .

He’s not eating the wire he’ll be fine
*Laughs in cheap bird shot and cast bullets*
Awesome video man keep up the good work
Idk what it is but this dude is amazing

The 18 inch marking flags make good metal dart material , and you can solder on scalpel blades

Great video buddy!! You got me out gathering parts for a blow gun now 😉
Best youtube chanel
That appears to be the snappiest velocity I've seen from a blowgun.
Enjoy innovation and outside the box thinking, keep up the vids i'll be watching...
I used 2mm diameter and 20cm long umbrella stem.. which is light and quite effective.
A metal clothing hanger works really good for many different hunting purposes , when used to make a blow dart.
I inherited my step dads blowgun. Sticker says survival blowgun is aluminum and splits into 2 parts, shorter and longer. That's a big ol turd right there, and it's not mine. Lmao
I been using old hacksaw blades for small dart and arrow tips, just breaking them into small pieces and shaping them up
Thanks for the lessons on Blowgun that included making the darts. I had never seen Darts that long before this!! Usually the darts are short steel ones 5 or 6 inches long!! What Timber and what Diameter did you use to make the Shafts of the Darts with?
I have even longer bamboo darts with hard green bamboo skin as the edge.
Bamboo barbecue sticks would be easy to use.
Why are your darts so long? Could you use say 6" darts"
he made them longer to add more weight
Came across your channel today! So glad I did! Now subscribed ;)
Much respect bro
COOLNESS BRO.MAN.💯🇺🇸👍☺️THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR ART ✌️😎✌️
Very well made, bravo! But do you prefer (like) bowhunting or blowgun hunting?
About equal for me. Thanks for watching!
Sensacional o seu vídeo! O melhor sobre fabricação de zarabatana para caça do UA-cam! Meus parabéns, nota 1000!
Nicely Done!👍
You're awesome, dude.
What do you do with the racoons?
nothing. they’re a pest
Have you thought about putting a cone mid way on the arrow
that way it will be kept more central in the copper pipe as it goes down and out
Blow gun or comanche bow? For me the-" COMANCHE BOW!-'😃💪
Why not both?
You should use a 1/4" 1095 high carbon dowel and forge the point in. Heat treat and spring temper the whole shaft. Will have far more energy and not flex as much in flight.
Hunger is the best condiment 🙂
Great video very enjoyable ❤
You will have to let us know how it holds up in the summer. Do you think the pipe will bend or warp at all in the heat?
Copper? Won't bend from heat, but will bend if you whack it on something.
Simply outstanding!💥👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
1/2 inch thin wall is 9/16 inside and duct tape works awesome for cons the duct tape cons are water proof.
There are water proof duct tape that cost a bit more.
Hi; what state are you in guy? great DIY for survive👍👍.
Good stuff, very cool, do t see many guys usin blow guns, let alone home made ones and gettin them out. Squirrel sure is good eatin, been awhile since i had any. Just outta curiosity, whats the weight on that blowgun overall?
Awesomeness! I subbed. I never sub. Compost 🐀 gonna get smoked
Very nice. May take and adapt this for my own purposes.

Best friend: MacGyver 1985 season 2 episode 15 scene 10 “The Blowgun Fishing Mystery”.
Good hunt!
What kind of broadhead target do you use and how much $ is it?
I may have opted for the raccoon meat
Do the darts need to be that long? Wouldn't a shorter dart decrease the fall?
Dart wont penetrate if its light .

Hey tristan how do you skin a squirrel?
Wish youtube would allow me to show it without ads being removed. Just did the pull method there are a few videos on youtube doing it. Works great to keep hair off the meat.
@@tristinriddle101 yeah, good ol youtube eh.. thanks man ill look up the pull method, good hunting.
How/where can I purchase one? I own a small rural survival shop in MS. Don’t want to make one, want to sell some.
I'll make you some with 3d printed grips & mouth piece. Just let me know we can work something out
Have you made any latex apear guns yet?
Would you not be able to use PVC pipe in that diameter?
I don't think it's rigid enough
them Morning Doves are a good eat
Matrix Squirrel 🐿️
Youuu don’t need to worry about holding a copper rod in a thunderstorm.
You’ll barely even get electrocuted.
