This makes me sooo happy!!! My family used to only know about the sexual side of the fandom, now I can show them a YT channel that can show them who I really am and that it's not all weird and sexual.
Our 11 year old has just declared herself a furry, and at first, I was a bit worried. I thought it was a way to hide behind a mask and avoid people and reality. She is VERY artistic and creative and coincidentally loves all of her stuffed anilmals (she has literally hundreds!) THANK YOU for offering a different perspective. Good to know there are other moms out there that embrace this. Thank you for educating us newbies. I have always told my children I will love and accept them no matter what (as long as they aren't harming themselves or others) and I would much rather see my child experiment with this than so many other things. I bet your mom loves you a lot. Parents with boundaries and rules for their children love them. That is how you know they love you. It's easy to let your kids do whatever they want. It's harder to raise them up correctly.

At first I was thinking this whole Furry fandom was a bit weird, But now I have a 13 yr old that loves this whole fandom and now I sit here learning about lot's of things and you know what it's really not all that weird, it's really cool and I want to support my kids in what ever they do, because my 13 yr old already has ears and a tail and I might get into it with her. And maybe someone who has an interest in anthro based characters I.E. someone who you see where's like a head band that you can buy at a store thats looks feline?) This was made along time ago, but I am late ;w;. Anywho! I told my mom I was a furry about a year ago, our family is christian so..my mom really thought it was like you wanna be a beast and stuff..I told her it was to express yourself more and feel more confident, she kinda got it..then a year past and she forgot everything I practically said, I was shocked! This can be from anything more animal like Lion King or the Warriors books by Erin Hunter (a style called feral I’ll describe later) or movies like Zootopia, Disney’s Robin Hood, and characters like Sonic! Usually, the term “anthro” is applied to these latter styles because the characters resemble human culture, walk on their hind legs, wear clothes, etc. However, it would be more accurate to call the style bipedal. This doesn’t just apply to suits so much as it applies to art and stories. Feral styles of furries emphasize the natural anatomy of an animal, favoring their more natural gait, pose, and proportions. A suiter is someone who wears a fursuit. Fursuit makers, are the people who make them. Also if you need any tips on video editing feel free to ask, that's what I studied at school. :>

another sub-set of furries r called fishies!!!! as the name suggests, its basically just marine furries. As an example, my fursona is a black ribbon eel, so he would be considered a fishy. Of course, you are able to call yourself a furry if you prefer that label.
