Truth is, I don't care if a character looks like me, or is vaguely similar to me, I just want good stories, engaging characters with growth and well choreographed fight scenes. Things Echo lacks.

She was trained under him to be an assassin, she learned to fight when she was like 8, and kept getting better. The Korean drama My Name is lead by a female actress on her quest to revenge her father's murder. In that show, she doesn't overpowered anyone but uses her agility, quickness, brutality, and skills to take down men bigger than her. The actress herself has a lean and ripped body which fits the character she plays
H shoot I never finished that show cuz I got busy, but I remember really enjoying it cuz Han So Hee really sold that character. Her character is also very stoic, but they still managed to give her moments of vulnerability that really worked well.

The only issue is that if you look deeper at any of the shows you just mentioned, they’re pretty bad too. None of the shows have been overall bangers. Footwork is one of the most important things in a fight. Missing a foot will make it hard to fight people who know what they're doing. Being deaf makes it hard to fight as part of a team. Can't hear people yell for help,can't hear someone yell duck. I wonder if having a criminal as representation makes her tribe proud.

Some of them such as Graham Greene and Tantoo Cardinal have well over 100 acting credits to their names and most of the others like Devery Jacobs, Chaske Spencer, and Cody Lightning each have acted in over three dozen projects.
Her power in the comics is so much cooler, she’s supposed to be like a female taskmaster but ofc the creator of the show said oh those powers were lame so we made her have any power that suits the plot, shit is a pile of dog shit… smh Disney

When it started, I actually thought it was going to be decent. And then as the episode one proceeded, I was left a bit confused because it seems as though we were missing huge chunks of information. I also want to point out Jia from Godzilla vs Kong who was also a deaf character who had way more better character development. She did a better job emoting. Her characters’s bond with Kong was very well done. The actress showed many emotions and was literally the heart of that movie.
It says in the Wikipedia article about thise show that the actress thought the characters Photographic Reflexes ability was "lame" and was glad it was removed from the character. So the fans have no say in this. Even though that's an ability the audience would love to see portrayed well. Likewise in Heroes there was a woman who had photographic reflexes - and she just does a few fight moves in one scene, and then she's off the show. The man from the watcher org gives her a bunch of videos with various movements that could be useful for her to remember. I'd love to see what skills he included and how she imitated those. But no.
If anything, the Native American ancestral powers is even lamer, due to how overpowered it can be and how the powers themselves are whatever the plot needs them to be, and the show even sucked at portraying it.

This is what "A Camel is a Horse made by Committee" means. When you get a bunch of suits to try and mesh a bunch of "Relatable" shit in, without any thought to character, you get a mess. We aren't making "Strong Female Characters" anymore, we're trying to get actors to try and portray a world salad of buzzwords. Noriko from Godzilla Minus One, is leagues better, and has far less screen time. She can't punch through walls and doesn't have a long speech were she owns the men or anything, but there's a wonderful, endearing kindness and determination to her that resonates throughout the whole story.
When I watched Echo I just felt so bad for Vincent D’onofrio. When you see HIS acting and how he is giving all of himself to this role and Alaqua’s grimaces (I can’t call it acting). Glad I didn't decide to watch the show. To think Echo could hold her own against Daredevil or Kingpin is absolutely insane. There's no way her martial arts are on par with Daredevils and no chance in hell she could stop Kingpin from just squeezing the life out of her. It's a damn shame what they're doing to the Marvel Multiverse. The craziest part about it, is they already have amazingly written stories that have been loved for decades.
The Punisher's an expert hand to hand combatant who's seen actual war and I remember the Kingpin absolutely demolishing him in a fight in the Netflix show.

She perfectly copied another - karate student's technique and used it against another student. - Ancestral Communication: Maya can communicate to a degree with her deceased ancestors, such as her mother. - Enhanced Strength: To be added - Memory Recall: Through her powers, Maya can recall the memories of her ancestors and witness events that they went through. - Healing: Through her mother, Maya possesses the ability to heal a person's mental scars by entering their minds and visualizing their past traumas. However, for this to work permanently, the person must also want Maya’s help, as seen when she attempted to heal Fisk but had to convince him to let her help him give up his rage and pain, in these cases the effect of that power is temporary and less effective. I mean why we need Daredevil when we have Echo, she is a fusion of a hospital and a dojo.
I’m excited for Disney to become so desperate that they allow Netflix to have its Marvel shows back and go back to receiving checks in the mail from them. By the way, Disney can keep Echo because that trash is not canon to The Defenders pocket universe. 💯

The only issue is that if you look deeper at any of the shows you just mentioned, they’re pretty bad too. None of the shows have been overall bangers. I know the spider verse movies have huge flaws, but at least those movies are overall pretty good. You can’t say the same for any of the marvel Disney plus shows.

Footwork is one of the most important things in a fight. Missing a foot will make it hard to fight people who know what they're doing. Being deaf makes it hard to fight as part of a team. Can't hear people yell for help,can't hear someone yell duck. I wonder if having a criminal as representation makes her tribe proud.

of course. because the reason there is no "native american cinema" for these people to have "representation", is none of them were interested in it enough to create their own movies/shows. so there aren't many native american actors, never mind ones who are also deaf and one legged. so they had to go with a person who isnt an actor, even with the child actor you can tell from the credit at the end, that they just worked with the actual people of the tribe, and they got them a bunch of people who weren't actors.

Some of them such as Graham Greene and Tantoo Cardinal have well over 100 acting credits to their names and most of the others like Devery Jacobs, Chaske Spencer, and Cody Lightning each have acted in over three dozen projects.

I also want to point out Jia from Godzilla vs Kong who was also a deaf character who had way more better character development. She did a better job emoting. Her characters’s bond with Kong was very well done. The actress showed many emotions and was literally the heart of that movie.

It says in the Wikipedia article about thise show that the actress thought the characters Photographic Reflexes ability was "lame" and was glad it was removed from the character. So the fans have no say in this. Even though that's an ability the audience would love to see portrayed well. Likewise in Heroes there was a woman who had photographic reflexes - and she just does a few fight moves in one scene, and then she's off the show. The man from the watcher org gives her a bunch of videos with various movements that could be useful for her to remember. I'd love to see what skills he included and how she imitated those. But no.
If anything, the Native American ancestral powers is even lamer, due to how overpowered it can be and how the powers themselves are whatever the plot needs them to be, and the show even sucked at portraying it.

Glad I didn't decide to watch the show. To think Echo could hold her own against Daredevil or Kingpin is absolutely insane. There's no way her martial arts are on par with Daredevils and no chance in hell she could stop Kingpin from just squeezing the life out of her. It's a damn shame what they're doing to the Marvel Multiverse. The craziest part about it, is they already have amazingly written stories that have been loved for decades.
The Punisher's an expert hand to hand combatant who's seen actual war and I remember the Kingpin absolutely demolishing him in a fight in the Netflix show.
