Looks like he is meticulously building every aspect of whatever events he plans on doing. I think he wants WRs and Golds in events he doesn't usually race. Would like to see him smash the 200Im personally.
Dressel is almost 28 years old. When is the last time that a swimmer in his late twenties broke a WR in an event longer than 50 meters? By the way, if he takes out the race more aggressively, his back-half will obviously suffer. In 2022, when he led off the 4 x 100 free relay on night 1 at Worlds, he struggled to close out the race and finished with a 47.67. I think he doesn’t get under 47.5 at trials next month. Alexy and Guiliano will be the top 2 finishers in the 100 free.
@@echosmyron1278 I put the experience on him to win it and to be faster than he's ever been because he is in a better place mentally. I think he makes it behind Alexy and beats him in Paris. And Ryan Lochte was 27 not in a super suit and went 1:54.00 in the 200 IM. Caleb is one of the greats and I put him just behind Lochte all time for the USA until we see what happens this summer.
I think he repeats the 100 fly and 50 free gold with the 100 just being to stacked with ne WR's dropping a lot of atm. Gold in Paris 50 free - 20.98 100 fly - 49.17
I think top 3 will be liendo, dressel, and a random break out swim my Gues for bronze is either Johnny kulow or Jordan crooks, possibly Chris gulieono, but when it comes to the 50 it’s who does best and has a perfect race under all the stress which I give to the vet who has never broke 21
He won’t win both in Paris unless McEvoy or Proud aren’t able to go 20.9. If he improves in the 50 it will slow down his second 50 in the 100. Larger muscles require too much oxygen, that’s why Popovici and Zhanle are so skinny. They’re .9 seconds slower than Dressel in a 50 sprint but they’re beating him on the 2nd 50 in a 100. Popovici will go 46.6 if he learns how to get off the block better (as long as he doesn’t add significant muscle mass). Dressel goes faster in the 100 if he losses muscle mass, but then goes slower in the 50. 50+100 combo is much harder than 100+200 combo in long course since it’s anaerobic race + aerobic race. 100 yard freestyle is 39 seconds so it’s not enough time for body to produce lactic acid.
39 seconds is enough time for lactic acid to build up. The key factor about 100 yard races is that they primarily consist of underwater kicking, so a swimmer’s arms don’t get tired as much towards the end of a race. For instance, Gretchen Walsh takes more strokes in a 50m LC fly race (20 or 21 last summer when she went 25.1) than she does in a 100 yard fly (18 or 19).
I think dressel attempts to be apart of the 4x2, will be apart of the 4x1 and medley, defends his title in the 100 fly, podiums in the 100 free, and misses the 50 free final while still making the team in it
@@axli4782it's questionable, I wouldn't be super surprised if he did but I also wouldn't be surprised if he didn't either, he seems to be more of a back half swimmer now and the 50 free is a lot deeper then it was 3 years ago

i've said it before and i'll say it again, i feel like hes saving his front half speed that really puts him out there for paris and keep his great back halfs from in season
Pan’s stroke efficiency + kick frequency, a deja vu seen from Popov, make him a cut above other swimmers. His slender build helps him outswim others in 100 & 200 free but not 50 free.
If Dressel can win gold in any individual event, that would be a huge statement imo
My man is cooking smth, so excited!!!

Lmaooo I see myself in the background

@@ReidRoland 😂😂😂
All these times and he hasnt yet just ripped the first 50 of a 100. He could very realistically have a chance at that 46 second world record

Nah what about Liendo in the 50 free
