- Fun fact: Martin was supposed to help me film this but he was TOO TIRED to drive down to the gym at 6:50AM smh hopefully these angles are still acceptable
Hello hello!! Are we surprised that I've actually held myself to posting once per week for the first time in... months?? I legit bought a planner just to stay organized with all my ideas for the future of the channel; hopefully it'll keep me more accountable :~)
Work has been kinda slow recently, and I feel a teeny bit of burnout, especially since I haven't taken a real long vacation this year. BUT, I'm lucky to work in a lab, so I shouldn't complain! I just wish I could up and go travel around and boulder cool places :~)
ALSO OMG if you comment something nasty on this video (there's ample opportunity for that in this one for sure) I'm going to send your comment to the Instagram account @ chossydms2.0 and shadow block you!! Which means that no matter what you comment on this channel, no one will be able to read your gross, objectifying, disrespectful comments !!
ALSO AHHHH thanks for 8k, everybody!! :-) Very auspicious number, I am very grateful

There is danger and risk involved when you boulder or engage in other climbing-related activities. Know that when climbing, or training in general, you might injure yourself or others. Do not climb, train, or engage in any related activities unless you accept responsibility for any potential risks or injuries!

As someone who just came home from a frustrating bouldering session, I really appreciated that you included the number of times you had tried that last green problem.
Hi. Jenn I went climbing yesterday and used all is your tips and I achieved V2 at the age of 11. Your videos also inspired me to keep on going. Love you Xx
hi omg that’s amazing!!! congrats on that v2, especially at such a young age :-)
Thx so much Jenn carry on your good work and I really want to be as good as you when I'm older
The music is sooooo goood. Chill af
Lo-fi hip-hop beats to study to but for climbing videos. TY Jenn
Love your attitude Jenn to both climbing and championing equality and diversity, all while managing to have a laugh at yourself. Keep up the great work

You should do a video on tips on how to read routes! :)
i was just thinking this! i'll see what i can do :-)
Until she does, here are the absolute basics in order of importance from my perspective:
1) Look for moves you're familiar with. This is the most critical because you're not just using your imagination and spatial reasoning, but your memories. Most experienced climbers are just doing this for most of each problem. Obviously you can't do this if you're brand new, and it can also lead you to miss a move you have no experience with, but it should be your go to for figuring out a route.
2) Go from the bottom and identify all the holds for each hand. If at all unsure, do the same from the top. Sometimes it is a lot easier to read a problem from the top, it can be like doing a tracing maze by starting at the finish.
3) For the hand holds you've just figured out, picture where your body/mass is going to want to be, then look for footholds to support that position. It is important to look at where you body will be as you transition between holds, as that is where you're going to be the least stable. Things like positioning your shoulders towards the next handhold, getting your hips under a sloper.
4) For any angled holds, look for how to build pressure against the angle of the hold. This is where body tension and your feet come in. If your right arm is pulling you to the right, some other part of you needs to be pulling to the left.
Honestly you can go a long way with just putting a conscious effort into 1): read a route, then reflect on what worked and what didn't. Try to get a feel of how long your span is, and what that looks like from the ground.
@@JenniferLangen For the record, I would love to hear your perspective. I find that the women crushers at my gym have really thoughtful beta in general, where the guys are more like "pull hard, don't come off". I don't know why, it could be down to power, size, communication, mindset or maybe something completely different.
@@roywebb-pullman1496 It's usually power and sometimes size
Jen your videos are always hilarious but this one is absolutely slaying me, especially the v4 squatting start. Thanks for always giving us entertaining AND educational vids! x
That pink V5’s start is quite creative indeed
wow mart blocked AND reported!! :-D
Heya, I’m an 18 year old climber from the UK and I absolutely love your filming, editing, and presentation style. Love your channel please keep up your great work :D x
Just... Great! Nice editing too, I think you found a really nice, personal style. Keep it up!
That sit start was amazing lmao
Love the laid back feeling in your videos and your outlook on climbing. Just crushed my first V3 Dyno #BigPeopleClimb
So relaxing to watch! Keep crushing routes, oh and by the way music was the icing on ze cake!!
I seriously like this channel a lot
Your music choices are always so pleasant.

I like you. You're beautiful, fun with the comments on screen and i like the chill music too. Just all over feel good experience watching you climb :) xx
Hi Jenn! Just started following your videos but I gotta say your breakdown of technique is super helpful! I feel like I’m learning a lot watching you climb, especially bc we’ve got similar body types. Feels good to be represented lol!
First video of yours I've seen. You earned another subscriber pretty much immediately. I appreciate how much work went into the editing behind this video. I'm inspired!
Voiceover jenn got me rollling in the first clip already 😂 looking hella strong on the boulders!! Love seeing ya send all of these problems, keep the great content coming!!!
HAHA if you liked voiceover jenn, then here is text jenn LOL thanking you for your sweet comment!! :-DD
Love watching your vids - it's really useful and interesting to see the progress of someone who's a grade or so ahead of me plus you're always exuding the chilled vibes and positivity. Looking really strong in this one!
WOW you're getting stronger!!! Great sends! :D
hahaha i sure hope i'm getting stronger!! thanks so much :-)
chill vibes
wish my gym was as large as yours.. my bouldering section seems like its only 1/8 of the size. would be neat to visit bigger gyms like yours!
that's probably because our gym is bouldering-only! no huge ropes section to get in the way ;~)
@@JenniferLangen yeah mine has some top rope and lead climbing but ive never touched the ropes before. maybe one day!
Those boulders look dope!
The V5/V6 sends are looking good!
Nice sends Jenn
I also agree on the how to read routes video. Please!
** VIDEO PLANNING INTENSIFIES **
you climb V6 like a boss 😄💪
Great video, great problems, great climber! Everything's here!
hahahahaha actually got me good with that 'ok so you may be wondering how i got into this situation' bit. subscribed
Editing on point👌
I fear that friction has nothing tondo with the dimension of the surface area!
Very nice video, it shows all the passion and the effort! :)
SeraphinoII oh shoot, you’re right... it’s been years since i’ve taken physics 🥴 and i DON’T MISS IT!! hahaha. thanks so much for the support regardless of how little physics i know!
Love watching you progress, keep it up!
I love the style of your videos and your such a good personality! From a new fan keep it up💪👍
I love your editing, your music, and you! subscribing :)
Another great video, love the vibe!!
I like the no cuts and multiple attempts good vid
For the crux in the beginning of that last boulder (lime V6 I guess) I would try to twist below this awful sloper to the left (right shoulder towards the wall). As in overhangs twisting is often helpful to keep the hip near the wall. Jenn, could you try it?
The tips are awesome and helpful thanks a ton
Could you do a Bouldering clothing suggestions/collection video?
Do more videos~~~ the content is so well put together and fun to watch :D Stay goofy
dope tips and edits!
5:14 *shocking pikachu*
LOL SERIOUSLY what was going through my head at that moment!!
this vlog did the job!
nice quality video, keep it up
Your videos are fun! Do you try bouldering at other gyms?
Really good content :)
Hey keep up the good work!!!
Creative boulders are the best boulders
I really need a warmup video!
AMAZING VIDEO AS ALWAYS :')
Nice video! Can I ask what program you use for editing?
Did you take lessons when you first started climbing or just started out on your own and discovered the technique that way? I am scared to just go to a gym and try it out without getting a lesson first but I also don't know if it's necessary
Sofie Bollen i didn’t take any lessons at all!! everyone struggles a little bit in the beginning, but the movement comes naturally with practice i promise!! it’s quite intuitive after your body realizes what you want it to do (go up!!) :-) just try it! you’ll have fun!!
As a tall person, can confirm that sit starts are the fucking devil.
Hello! I may have missed where you mentioned this but do you do much lead climbing? Out of curiosity, why do you prefer bouldering?
i think you're going to be a really good climber when you build the body strength necessary to really execute all the moves and techniques that you already understand.
doing some strength training for the first time starting this month! let's hope you're right!
@@JenniferLangen you'll get strong just from continuing to boulder - just keep doing the moves as well as you can and you'll gain body tension etc.
anyone know where her cool white pants are from??!
First YEEET
SO FREAKING FAST
how they can call that green a v6 i do not understand. gyms which up-grade climbs to simulate 'progress' just raise the expectations of people who aim to climb outdoors and eventually get shut down on a v3.
Theo Ainley hey theo, as someone who has climbed a V7 in one of these gyms but has yet to climb V4 outdoors, i personally don’t find it to be such a huge deal. thanks for your feedback! :-)
Can you please do a White Stripes reunion?
3:18 drop the right knee
hydra66 would be a great move, if she‘s tall enough to reach the next hold then.
What do you mean? I think i would move my right foot up one hold.
Edit: No actually i think i would just grab the next hold. like 3:34
You are handsome jenn
does anyone know how tall she is?
Désirée Grindat i’m 5 feet, 7 inches! :-)
@@JenniferLangen Aren't you supposed to be posting today?🤔🤔🤔
@@ApathyLight OMG i'm editing a new video as we speak!! but ugh it's prob not gonna be ready till tomorrow, TY for your patience!!!!
