Modified Hilux 4x4 Menai Bum Crack

  • Extreme rock crawling in a road registered 4wd. In this 4x4 video we feature a modified Toyota Hilux 4x4 N60 at the Bum Crack Trail in Menai NSW Australia.
    It is a short but difficult section with many rock steps and ledges with tight spaces. This Hilux makes easy work of the trail. Modifications and vehicle details include:
    LN107 SR5 Toyota Hilux
    SAS Coversion with Leafs Spring and Hi Steer
    Dirty 30 Front Axles
    High Pinion Front
    12 inch Travel Front and Rear Shocks
    Custom Rear Coil Conversion with 5 Link

      Overall as a trail id say 6 Stage is probably harder as its just relentless and steep. But if we said obstacle v obstacle this is right up there with what six stage offers.

      Falk I think the wheelbase is 121" or there abouts. He was running 6psi and had them treps working a treat.

      @@lror well i thought there's a technical reason for it..the original hilux 106 comes with all four leafs,107 with front coils & rear leafs..so this is kinda a reciprocal of the original design..makes one wonder why right?

      @@nabacovln107 was torsion bar front, leaf rear mate..
      the reason for the front leaf is the conversion is very straight forward as there are plenty of kits available off the shelf
      this truck was at one point front and rear leaf however the rear leaf setup wasn't doing enough .. it will end up coil front at some stage aswell but for the moment seems to be working quite well

    IF,by chance you watch u.s vids,its passenger,driver,bit quiker that left hand down,..how many leafs at front,3,now thats heaps,1 more than needed but o.k.,so long as as long as possible,they flex.unlike those rigs with 7.god knows why.a 460 f350 with d60 front,only has 2 leafs.no more needed.learn.
