  • Stanley Pranin: "When I was living in Japan I met a lot of martial arts masters. Many of them were open and cooperative, but others tended to be rather suspicious and secretive. It was almost as though I were spying on them! Steal this technique from Morihiro Saito."

Excellent. First technique taught to me by Sensei Yap. Who was Saito's Ushi-Deshi(live in apprentice) as well. Exact same execution and technique. With trap counter Atemi, then The Omote application of Ikkyo to pin.

Close to his death Morihei looked back sad that only few were following aikido despite it being left for everyone to practice, in light of this why would the Japanese masters be secretive of this art Morihei wanted to spread? I would only hide the techniques if I knew someone would use them to do evil.

RomanWujiSan I'm not sure what you mean but takemusu happens when you no longer have to think about what you are doing.

Alex Scott I just don't know how Morihiro Saito could call his aikido by takemusu.. when it's just the opposite ?

Where in the real world will someone grab you like that?!
    I mean the initial grip.
The real grip will be strong, will be short, the uke's arm will be bent to around 90 degrees or so.
You haven't been in a real street fight, have you?

Asians are reputed to withhold from others, but most definitely Westerners. Takeda was said not to teach the true technique. I can imagine reasons, but was he a hardcase or what? Then is there a belief of such being carried on after death. I mean we're dealing with Buddhism and Omato religion. Totally alien to me. I'd love to have a style as Daitoryu, the full thing, then taught step by step, concepts and principles. Like others, I wouldn't want to teach just anyone, as I won't want I others to know eitheir.

Why the music? I am a composer so I prefer my own 99.99999999999% of the time. Too much noise in the world. I built a shakuhachi. It took three months.

toru (I think his name he japanese not tori) pins at a crooked angle. he twists and twists arm then puts on mat then rolls arm on mat twisting it more. arm ends up pointing at 3 o'clock angle instead of 3 o'clock like normal and safe. it is painful. he can actually throw 2 attackers ( non complaint) when his arms are grabbed and pulled apart in the projection exercise. I don't know anybody who can do that even in demos they just jump and roll out. Japanese is better than American instruction. Train with shihan if you can. he does seminars I think they are like $100. Osensei trained in aikijutsu for two months. Why does it take years for Americans to get a semblance of use able techniques in the Streets? Must be incorrect training and politics discouraging people to teach the finer and often more dangerous aspects. I see more injuries in aikido than in karate or mma. osu.
