Excuse me if someone already said this, but you can craft more type of ammo at the same time. You put a splitter arm trigger and a splitter arm linking to an additional path so that every other item is passed to an extra conveyor belt there by crafting similar things. Hope that was helpful.
You can force items to merge into a single stack (such as the Ballistic Fiber) by dropping it, going into Workshop Mode, and then scrapping it back to the Workbench. Once you pick it back up from there, dropping it will put it in one stack.
You could use the weapons drop glitch to reduce the space problem. If you dont know how that works, load up your inventory with weapons. Drop them on the ground, then use tab or equal key on console controllers, to deposit the weapons into the workshop. Reduces space by quite a lot.
a) great idea. :) b) RAD-storms aren't really a problem while being afk. built an decontamination arch where you stand, and place a robot with a healing module next to you. c) if you need a material for different machines, you can add a diverter. put an impulse in the power-line before the 'diverter-arm' that switches on and off e.g. every 10 seconds, so the material (like lead) gets directed into two different machines. d) when you want to make two different types of ammunition, you have to built two seperated power circuits with different terminals, so you can give both terminals different recipes. to split a power circuit you could e.g. elevate the stuff and drop it into a hopper. the hopper doesn't conduct electricity from/to the belt before/after him. e) you can increase the building limit by dropping e.g. weapons or armor on the ground and then manually scrap them in building mode. the game will think, that you deconstructed something and let's you build more machines (or other stuff). f) as far as i know robot happiness is capped at 50. g) i'm not the smartest conveyor belt worker. i just watched a bunch of videos and read comments about different options (this is actually the reason, why i also watched this video) and combined the collected ideas for my own purposes. :)
h) you might want to add a sorter directly after the first vacuum hopper to get rid of all the 'annoying scrap items' that jam your conveyor belts (esp. the elevators) - like shovels, brooms, big bones, cushions, jangles, buttercup, lifebelts ...
not sure if anyone said this already but you can put a splitter after a sorter that only uses lead and hook the splitter up to a counter so 10 lead will go straight then 10 will go left/right and so on so you can have 2 ammo builders working at the same time
hey just commenting to say this video was really helpful and this factory is well thought out. it hepled me get past alot of the barriers i ran into while trying to make a factory +1 new subscriber
connect a sorting arm on a dividing track with a toggle switch attached before it. every item that passes the switch toggles the track left-right-left-right - that way you can make two things that both need a certain resource.
What you said at 3:00 yes you can. Use a branch conveyor, laser trip wire and power counter. With a bit of messing around, you can get every 2nd item to branch off. So 30 items will be split 15 and 15 down each branch.
+Souji Designs if you set up a trip wire (on each branch) to delayed switch, to a diverter, on a branched conveyor, you could send some of the same resources to different crafters. i.e. lead passes down one fork, which trips laser A. This starts a delayed timer that will toggle the diverter to send lead down the other fork, which then trips laser B, which starts another delayed switch that will switch the diverter back to switch back. Or just skip the delayed switch and add more conveyor between the trip laser and the fork.
It might have been discussed in comments already, but right after the lead / fertilizer component sorter, you could have one of those Y shaped splitters with the divider. Have a tripwire on a section after the splitters, and connect them to a counter so it alternates between the ammo factories every so many components.
you can wire the sorters to ignore what it needs to sort just set up a clock using the power counter and every 10 seconds it turns off the sorter so the resources go to the next machine and then after the next 10 seconds it turns the sorter back on if you chain the power counters you can get it to increase time for example if you want it to switch after 30seconds daisy chain 3 power counters so they activate the next power counter in line.
u can split the lead and fertilizer as they come out if you wanted so they hook into 2 different ammo machine and ect. u can also lower you settlement build cap.
I believe that robots Happiness is set at 50. I don't think it goes up or down. The same is true of synths, which is why their presence can drag down a settlement's Happiness--it's calculated as an average, as near as I have been able to determine. Also, as far as splitting your supply line to more than one forge--I think there are powered switch pieces in the conveyor set (or maybe I'm thinking of the ball chutes?), and I know there are pieces with diverting arms whose positions can be changed.
To allow for multiple types of ammo to be made, make a branched off conveyor belt with a sensor that triggers the flipper on or off so every other item will go one way than did the previous one, repeat this as many ties as needed to allow for more crafting stations to be placed, also, just drop and store alot of weapons in the workshop, is a glitch that alows for settlements to be built as big as you want, be sure to drop them individually though, aka no more than five at a time. Hope this helps
to make more room in your settlement mate just go to your work shop and pull out all your junk items that arent allready broken down to their base components like for example alarm clocks vases bowling pins brooms ect (you get the picture). once your carrying them just find a nice bare bit of ground (so you dont accidentally miss any dropped items.) once youve found your bit of ground just go into your inventory and begin dropping all your alarm clocks brooms ect. once youve dropped it all open up your build mode and highlight the dropped items and just click scrap item. keep scrapping your dropped junk till youve got enough space or youve run outta junk. this has the added bonus of breaking all the items up into the base items and put them back into your workshop inventory as well as giving you more build space. can take a little bit of time if your like me and hoard a crap ton of gear and then do it but its the only way to gain extra space on consoles as far as i know. either way give it a try just build till you cant build no more then scrap all your junk and create free space :) enjoy
Best way to get more settlement room is to collect gamma guns and drop them on the ground, go into workshop and store them and it will lower the build level so you can add more to your settlement for defenses or more crafting. Done it twice on my ps4 game. Works great and very fast using the gamma guns for some reason.
I think that if you want to make other bullets further down the line, you'd have to put a sorter earler on the conveyer lines, then through use of a delayed switch or whatever you make it so that the direction gets redirected every so often to the 10mm machine whilst still passing on some lead for other bullet machines elsewhere.
You can use a splitter to separate the materials as someone else said. if you want to make different ammo on the same line the ammo machines need to be far enough away to not be part of the same power grid or else your terminals will make them all craft the same item. I have a video of mine working but I need to make changes before an updated video
What would be nice would be if someone could make a mod for the sorters where you can make a designator for each item so that it would not only sort that item, but would have a code for routing each item. For instance, on your lead, if you put it in the sorter with a designator of "Lead 1-1" then it would take each item of lead and sort it out the side. But, if you had a designator of "Lead 1-0-1" then it would only take every other lead . That way you could set up the first sorter to pass an additional item to the next sorter.
maybe try the laser activation thing? i haven't gotten into contraptions as i'm doing a super high risk survival run and havn't set shop any where yet, but that was my first thought using the laser activation on one of the things that changes lanes. ofc i don't know if you can place them on a assembly line.
I did that myself before even running into this issue. You use the piece that splits the conveyor belt into two tracks and then use a laser tripwire across each of the two new tracks. You connect the tripwires to power and then each of the outputs to a XOR logic gate which connects to the diverter which fits the track piece. Every item will switch the diverter; the only issue is needing the input to be only the type you want to split supply from, which obviously means it would already need to be sorted. this wasn't an issue for me as I was splitting the supply of steel into a vault tec lunchbox builder and a bottlecap mine builder, since I was trying to make an automatic bottlecap mine builder (which also crafts the boxes).
It sounds like you need to look in to logic gates because you can use a branching conveyor with a diverter. Hook up a counter and say every 10 lead it switches over to the other line and counts 10 again then switches back. I am not certain on how to use logic gates, it sounds like a job it would sort out. It's something to tinker with at least.
On the assembly line where you want to separate raw materials into 2 different lines uses either a timed switch or a belt laser trip wire and a split belt. Then use a different power and terminal for the second system either separated by a hopper or conveyor storage so you can set each independantly
Does that apply to the settlement "budget?" From what I understand, you literally cannot build anything more once that meter in the top right gets full.
to be able to build more, you can drop weapons on the ground then from the build menu send them to your workbench. then all you have to do is retrieve and repeat.
How to fix a full build menu without mods: Weapons work best, but most items will do the trick. Drop them on the ground, then you can scrap them for parts(I'm personally on a quest to scrap every pipe gun in the game), or if you want the weapons/items for later simply store them while in workshop mode. Either way you can free up as much build budget as you want. Be warned that it will put extra stress on your system the more you put in a particular area, so don't over do it.
btw a little trick to bring down your settlement budge without using any kind of mod or console command is to get a ton of modded weapons then drop them in your settlement then go into workshop mode and store all the dropped weapons into your workshop bench and it'll lower your budget that way you can get more room to build defenses for your nice little auto farm.
You should be able to use logic circuits and conveyor laser tripwires to setup a basic counting system so that you can separate X amount of material into one hopper, then activate a conveyor switcher and have another counter to return the switcher back to the original position.
I used a tripwire switches after the builders as the feedback signal to the track switcher Before the builders. So after one builder makes its thing, track switches to the other builder until it's done. You could probably extend this to multiple splits with some logic gates.
It's a shame the factories don't run whilst your at a different area. However, what you could do is fast travel back there before you go do daily chores, go out for a smoke, go to the shops for whatever, make dinner, etc.
Robot settlers for optimum efficiency because they don't sleep. Brilliant. I've got a bunch of different builders with conveyor belts that all link to one main line. However, I'm probably going to have to put up component sorters and vacuum up the workbench. Apart from Scavenging Stations, could you instead just build supply lines between the settlement you're making the factory and every single other settlement you've discovered?
I was going to say the same thing. branch with a diverter arm and some kind of toggle that periodically shifts would work. You'd probably want to put a sorter on it before hand so that you're only diverting the lead.
Yes, but because the terminal only lets you build one type of ammo at a time it's not worth it. I tried to set it up so that I could build .45 and shotgun shells simultaneously but the terminal only lets you select one. I even tried using multiple terminals but it does not work.
Two (or even more) Ammo-Builder can work. Laser trigger and left/right branch, after that a hopper and convery belts to the different Builders, all on different terminals and different energy-source. Expensive to build, little bit complicated but very usefull.
One thing you can do to solve the problem of having multiple ammo factories is to use a splitter conveyor belt after the sorter to send the fertilizer and lead to two different paths.
I am just going to go on a limb and say you found it. but in case if you haven't, In the conveyor belt's there is a Y belt that you can use, you will need a switch that switches from the left belt to the right belt, but to use this effectively you would need a laser that turns on and off, so you can switch between left and right,
you can sort, it will take up more room (unlimited building mod can fix that) set up a deverter conveyor with a trip laser and deverter arm, set up an infinite loop with two more deverter segments for the other processors then use intersection segments to get the other resources back on to the infinite loop you'll also need another intersection segment for the hopper to feed on to the loop. it's as complicated to build as it sounds and if you get another mod you can break down items to all their base components (manufacturing extended) but if you have the patience and time you can do it without mods.
i think you can split your lead to 2 conveyors. use the splitter conveyer and a ram. not sure what its called. them set up a timed on off switch to send each lead to on or the other conveyer
I don't get it, everyone talks about settlement caps and "Having to sacrifice defense for all this stuff because of the cap" ... If you drop a stack of 25 tin cans, enter build mode, and then scrap them, the game thinks your scrapping 25 pre-existing small items in the settlement and lowers the % of space used. It works with anything, so all those desk fans, antique globes, coffee cups, ect. Can all be dropped and scrapped, which will allow you to build more things. (Also if you are at max build limit, you can drop 1 item like a cup or globe or whatever. Move to the item you want to build in the build menu, and then scrap the item you dropped and it will allow you to build the item you have selected until you either build one, or go back in the menu, then you will have to scrap 1 more thing, so you could basically drop 10 cans in the corner of a max build limit settlement and every time you wanted to build a new thing you'd just have to select it like normal, then run over and scrap 1 of the random things you dropped.)
Set up an interval switch on a diverter or vacuum sorter to extract a percentage of materials for a set amount of time before it reverts to its original tasking… ? That way you can split the same resource as you please. Just guessing as I haven't got hold of the DLC yet but the mechanics stands to reason : )
You can get rid of space by grabbing a lot of guns then you drop them and then go into workshop mode and click on them and store them in workshop.(repeat) It takes away a little at a time so do it over and over the more weapons the better. its a glitch btw
for seperTing for multiple ammo machines a split path with the lever to change the path with an interval switch for seperation could work not space efficient but it works
Use a power counter a 2 way track and a splitter arm to send the lead to 2 different ammo factories, use a laser trip wire to count the lead and set the power counter to 2
You can hook a split path up to the spot where you want lead to go and then put an arm that closes off the main path every 10 seconds or so. Just an idea
I am not trying to be mean when I say this but I think you need to make your recorded voice volume louder than the game volume, sometimes it is hard to hear you.But the content of the video is well worth it, thank you for posting this.
I want to see a mod where the machines run while you are away from your settlement. I would also like to see a mod that places an item on top of the sorter when you set it for an item, so you can see what its' sorting from a distance.
You explain well , but some of the times you say 'cant be done" may take thinking outside the box or taking another look at the setup and tools you have.
What do you mean, you can't craft different ammo on the same assembly line? You can just make a different small assembly line just for the different type of ammo and connect it to your primary assembly line. I know it's stupid to promote my own video, but I don't really care about views or subscribers and you can check it out to see how I managed to connect it all nicely into one functional factory :)
An idea for how to split the conveyor: build a conveyor branch and a diverter. then build a circular conveyor belt (its actually a square) and place a laser tripwire switch on the conveyor, and hook it up to the diverter. place an item on the clock you just made, and bipidity bobity boom ur done.( basically built a clock that toggles power going to a diverter on the track.) :)
Matthew Traver make sure to have a separate power source running through the laser into the diverter. also if you need to extend the wiring don't use pylons because they give power in an area, use conduits (the nub things you can place on walls (vanilla not contraptions)).
Doesn't the DLC also add lazer tripwire specially for the conveyors ? With proper connections, wouldn't it allow the splitter-thing to alternate back and forth automatically ?
i've used splitters with a tripwire, so everytime an item came by, the arm went a different way. ex. lead - left, lead - right, lead - left, lead - right. you could split them up that way
i just reinstalled the game recently.. so i could be uninformed, but you can use branching conveyor belt to split your ammo raw materials into more paths so they go into more then just 1 machine.. example setting the diverter on max time on and off settings..
If this was 2005 and I was still a meth head, I'd be building the most amazing, technical contraptions known to man. But, I'm drug free now and I just don't have the patience for this. So, don't do drugs. Because they can make things that can be fun for the normal, never smoked meth, gamer. But, not fun, for the former, smoked meth, gamer. :(
does the vacuum hopper gotta b near the red workbench? they are all in bad spots in the settlements. im gonna put the vacuum hopper inside a building so i wonder if i place a workbench beside it if it will pull the items.... u know like an workbench or something. the red workbench thingy aint near my factory.
Can someone please explain how the vacuum hopper works? If you're connecting it directly to the settlement workshop, how is it only pulling lead out? Do you have ability to pull other components out at the same time?
Or you can set it up like how I set up my toggling conveyor system. Got a video on my channel about it, if you want to take a gander. Pretty much opens up a whole world of possibilities.
It's a pity that you can't build Planters in the Mechanist's Base. It'd be perfect for this sort of thing otherwise. Maybe we'll get some sort of food-making item that we can put there in the Vault DLC.
look into nexus mod manager, get conveyors extended, and there is a mod to expand the memory limit to settlements something like unlimited settlement objects or something
Your happiness with a settlement of nothing but robots will only be at 50% because a robot's max happiness is 50. This is an okay video but Oxhorn has a better explanation of what the contraptions workshop pieces do. He even explains the splitters.
Excuse me if someone already said this, but you can craft more type of ammo at the same time. You put a splitter arm trigger and a splitter arm linking to an additional path so that every other item is passed to an extra conveyor belt there by crafting similar things. Hope that was helpful.

c) if you need a material for different machines, you can add a diverter. put an impulse in the power-line before the 'diverter-arm' that switches on and off e.g. every 10 seconds, so the material (like lead) gets directed into two different machines.
d) when you want to make two different types of ammunition, you have to built two seperated power circuits with different terminals, so you can give both terminals different recipes. to split a power circuit you could e.g. elevate the stuff and drop it into a hopper. the hopper doesn't conduct electricity from/to the belt before/after him.
e) you can increase the building limit by dropping e.g. weapons or armor on the ground and then manually scrap them in building mode. the game will think, that you deconstructed something and let's you build more machines (or other stuff).
f) as far as i know robot happiness is capped at 50.
g) i'm not the smartest conveyor belt worker. i just watched a bunch of videos and read comments about different options (this is actually the reason, why i also watched this video) and combined the collected ideas for my own purposes. :)

connect a sorting arm on a dividing track with a toggle switch attached before it. every item that passes the switch toggles the track left-right-left-right - that way you can make two things that both need a certain resource.

You answered a lot of my initial questions about this idea in the video. Thanks!
I just have my laser tripwires on a toggle so the branch cycles on each passing. You can see it on my channel if you're keen for a look-see.
Yeah, I haven't played with the logic switches yet. Good call on the XOR switch.
Thanks. Took a little tinkering and it ended up being the least shitty option out of most of the switches.
You can change the ammo/armor types your forges build by choosing a new object for them to build via Terminals connected to the manufacturer machines.
It might have been discussed in comments already, but right after the lead / fertilizer component sorter, you could have one of those Y shaped splitters with the divider. Have a tripwire on a section after the splitters, and connect them to a counter so it alternates between the ammo factories every so many components.
There is a way to split conveyor belts. You need the split belt and the diverter on it that knocks every other item onto the alternate track.
you can wire the sorters to ignore what it needs to sort just set up a clock using the power counter and every 10 seconds it turns off the sorter so the resources go to the next machine and then after the next 10 seconds it turns the sorter back on if you chain the power counters you can get it to increase time for example if you want it to switch after 30seconds daisy chain 3 power counters so they activate the next power counter in line.
u can split the lead and fertilizer as they come out if you wanted so they hook into 2 different ammo machine and ect. u can also lower you settlement build cap.
You can use a splitting part with the diverter attached and set a tripwire on the conveyer so they split every other lead

to make more room in your settlement mate just go to your work shop and pull out all your junk items that arent allready broken down to their base components like for example alarm clocks vases bowling pins brooms ect (you get the picture).
once your carrying them just find a nice bare bit of ground (so you dont accidentally miss any dropped items.)
once youve found your bit of ground just go into your inventory and begin dropping all your alarm clocks brooms ect.
once youve dropped it all open up your build mode and highlight the dropped items and just click scrap item. keep scrapping your dropped junk till youve got enough space or youve run outta junk.
this has the added bonus of breaking all the items up into the base items and put them back into your workshop inventory as well as giving you more build space. can take a little bit of time if your like me and hoard a crap ton of gear and then do it but its the only way to gain extra space on consoles as far as i know. either way give it a try just build till you cant build no more then scrap all your junk and create free space :) enjoy
Or you know get a mod
I think weapons work better
+Souji Designs ps4 doesnt have mods yet mate so getting a mod is pretty pointless if playing on ps4 which is why i mentioned how to do this
+BRYCE IS WHITE wouldnt know about weapons or armour to be honest mate i only pick it up if its got a star
+BRYCE IS WHITE wouldnt know about weapons or armour to be honest mate i only pick it up if its got a star so dont usually have too many too scrap
u could put a splitter with an arm conected to a trip wire so half will go to one side and half on the other
Best way to get more settlement room is to collect gamma guns and drop them on the ground, go into workshop and store them and it will lower the build level so you can add more to your settlement for defenses or more crafting. Done it twice on my ps4 game. Works great and very fast using the gamma guns for some reason.
dood your a genius. Now I finally have a grasp on what all these things do.
Agreed awesome video bro my brain was about to explode too

Then use a different power and terminal for the second system either separated by a hopper or conveyor storage so you can set each independantly
O and use different floors to make more room. Far as I know vertical space is unlimited.
Does that apply to the settlement "budget?" From what I understand, you literally cannot build anything more once that meter in the top right gets full.
true think there are mods for that though but be careful with em if your system can't handle it or file gets corrupted you will be startin over.
to be able to build more, you can drop weapons on the ground then from the build menu send them to your workbench. then all you have to do is retrieve and repeat.
i like how you put see through pieces on the ground above the water.
Also you can somewhat increase the settlements building capacity by dropping pieces of armor or weapons on the ground and scrapping them.
When you were talking about separating the lead, just make a 10 second timer and hook it up to one of those split things
How to fix a full build menu without mods:
Weapons work best, but most items will do the trick.

You should be able to use logic circuits and conveyor laser tripwires to setup a basic counting system so that you can separate X amount of material into one hopper, then activate a conveyor switcher and have another counter to return the switcher back to the original position.
You can split items, you need to belt that splits left and right then set up a track switcher to switch every couple seconds .
*the belt
He told me he'd figured that out and he's improving it all now.
And you can set up different ammo factories to produce different ammo, they just need their own power circuit & terminal.
I used a tripwire switches after the builders as the feedback signal to the track switcher Before the builders.
So after one builder makes its thing, track switches to the other builder until it's done. You could probably extend this to multiple splits with some logic gates.
to make multiple ammo types, you need to create a split in the conveyor, with the switch arm to knock items into the split. Perhaps
It's a shame the factories don't run whilst your at a different area.
However, what you could do is fast travel back there before you go do daily chores, go out for a smoke, go to the shops for whatever, make dinner, etc.
Put a timed power thing on a divider so it splits items roughly 50/50, in order to use the same component for multiple builders
Cant you use the left/right branch belts to split resources so you can make different ammunition?
yeah a diverter and a left/right branch should fix your problem. hope you read this
I was going to say the same thing. branch with a diverter arm and some kind of toggle that periodically shifts would work. You'd probably want to put a sorter on it before hand so that you're only diverting the lead.
attach a laser trigger to counter? maybe?
I am just going to go on a limb and say you found it.
but in case if you haven't, In the conveyor belt's there is a Y belt that you can use, you will need a switch that switches from the left belt to the right belt, but to use this effectively you would need a laser that turns on and off, so you can switch between left and right,
you can increase your settlement size by dropping stuff on the ground and tab storing it
you can sort, it will take up more room (unlimited building mod can fix that) set up a deverter conveyor with a trip laser and deverter arm, set up an infinite loop with two more deverter segments for the other processors then use intersection segments to get the other resources back on to the infinite loop you'll also need another intersection segment for the hopper to feed on to the loop. it's as complicated to build as it sounds and if you get another mod you can break down items to all their base components (manufacturing extended) but if you have the patience and time you can do it without mods.
chris whittington every body building 2d factorys.. build up!!
i think you can split your lead to 2 conveyors. use the splitter conveyer and a ram. not sure what its called. them set up a timed on off switch to send each lead to on or the other conveyer
if you set up a splitter and then set the flapper to switch every time an item passes through a laser you'll get a 50 50 split of items.
Move to the item you want to build in the build menu, and then scrap the item you dropped and it will allow you to build the item you have selected until you either build one, or go back in the menu, then you will have to scrap 1 more thing, so you could basically drop 10 cans in the corner of a max build limit settlement and every time you wanted to build a new thing you'd just have to select it like normal, then run over and scrap 1 of the random things you dropped.)
if you were a hazmat suit radiation becomes a lot less of a problem as your need to check up on your character less often.
you can split a belt, and adjust hopper speeds
Set up an interval switch on a diverter or vacuum sorter to extract a percentage of materials for a set amount of time before it reverts to its original tasking… ? That way you can split the same resource as you please. Just guessing as I haven't got hold of the DLC yet but the mechanics stands to reason : )
You can get rid of space by grabbing a lot of guns then you drop them and then go into workshop mode and click on them and store them in workshop.(repeat) It takes away a little at a time so do it over and over the more weapons the better. its a glitch btw
for seperTing for multiple ammo machines a split path with the lever to change the path with an interval switch for seperation could work not space efficient but it works
seperating*
Use a power counter a 2 way track and a splitter arm to send the lead to 2 different ammo factories, use a laser trip wire to count the lead and set the power counter to 2
Also throw a ton of weapons on the ground and use the workshop menu to store them in the workshop, this will allow you to build more things
Nice Vid BUT!!
PLS, lower the ''music of the game'' and raise the sound of your'e voice.
;)
this is Genious! I'm going to do this with my Sunshine Tidings coop settlement as its literally just 20 robots lol
Watch out for things like shovels. They will jam the lifters.
You could use an interval timer! Let some go through the line further down
What do you mean, you can't craft different ammo on the same assembly line? You can just make a different small assembly line just for the different type of ammo and connect it to your primary assembly line. I know it's stupid to promote my own video, but I don't really care about views or subscribers and you can check it out to see how I managed to connect it all nicely into one functional factory :)
Make a timer using the gates and you can make a split that alternates back and forth
Thankyou so much man very helpful
you should open up the floor and put the giant water purifier in the puddle (yes you can, I squeezed 2 of them in there)
An idea for how to split the conveyor: build a conveyor branch and a diverter. then build a circular conveyor belt (its actually a square) and place a laser tripwire switch on the conveyor, and hook it up to the diverter. place an item on the clock you just made, and bipidity bobity boom ur done.( basically built a clock that toggles power going to a diverter on the track.) :)
There's also a timed switch pylon that can be controlled with a terminal. Just thought you'd want to know. :P
Matthew Traver but i think that one is a delay not a clock.
Huh, when I tried it it just kept turning on and off at regular intervals.
Matthew Traver make sure to have a separate power source running through the laser into the diverter. also if you need to extend the wiring don't use pylons because they give power in an area, use conduits (the nub things you can place on walls (vanilla not contraptions)).
or were you talking about the timed pylon switch.
"Bag of fertilizer" gives acid and fertilizer.
Could you use a y conveyor belt with logic gates and trip wires to move a gate back and forth to split your materials
We needs a mod that lets us build storage units that are linked to the workbench, so we don't need to have the factory attached to it.
About the ammo comment, can't you just put a splitter after the sorter?
Splitter only work one way with two inputs and 1 output, so you cant set it up for 1 input and 2 outputs
Doesn't the DLC also add lazer tripwire specially for the conveyors ? With proper connections, wouldn't it allow the splitter-thing to alternate back and forth automatically ?
not after the sorter, before
i've used splitters with a tripwire, so everytime an item came by, the arm went a different way. ex. lead - left, lead - right, lead - left, lead - right. you could split them up that way
I said that exact thing. Look further into the comments
i just reinstalled the game recently.. so i could be uninformed, but you can use branching conveyor belt to split your ammo raw materials into more paths so they go into more then just 1 machine.. example setting the diverter on max time on and off settings..
Hey, get the "manufactury" mod :) Adds machine types which im sure would fill in any missing links (if you may call it)
If u have Brahmin they give fertilizer just thought u should know
Can someone please explain how the vacuum hopper works? If you're connecting it directly to the settlement workshop, how is it only pulling lead out? Do you have ability to pull other components out at the same time?
Check out the mod Factories Extended!.
you can use a divurter whit a interval power sourse to sens 1 fretelizer forward the second left
diverter same interval as the the hopper
Or you can set it up like how I set up my toggling conveyor system. Got a video on my channel about it, if you want to take a gander. Pretty much opens up a whole world of possibilities.
Doesnt that cost more space thans s diverter and a lift tot drop it back op the track behind the sorter
Just set the interval too 2 seconds of 2 on
Whit th hopper on 1 second
Very informative thank you!
FYI from my own game play experience, there are many videos as well, those resource stations do little to nothing.
this was really helpful
has anyone else encountered the (component) sorters not sorting? everything passes straight through
good vid. only problem is that the sound of the game is almost louder then the sound of our voice (mic)
nice idea! I'm still not really sure I completely understand the contraptions dlc though, tis beyond me!
It's a pity that you can't build Planters in the Mechanist's Base. It'd be perfect for this sort of thing otherwise. Maybe we'll get some sort of food-making item that we can put there in the Vault DLC.
The reasoning for not making planters in the mechanist's base is likely due to the lack of sunlight, which plants tend to need in order to grow.
You can't build them in the Boston Airport, either; it's linked to whether or not you can plant food crops normally.
Huh, weird. :/
try to lower the game volume it's a lot of unnecessary noise and you're harder to hear.
Not sure if someone solved it for you but they make a splitter and the. I just have a power cycle pylon and set it up should work
look into nexus mod manager, get conveyors extended, and there is a mod to expand the memory limit to settlements
something like unlimited settlement objects or something
thanks for the video and i am going to try it
There is ways have a look at my contaption, run it on a split conveyer run it up and over with the conveyers with hoppers ;)
Your happiness with a settlement of nothing but robots will only be at 50% because a robot's max happiness is 50. This is an okay video but Oxhorn has a better explanation of what the contraptions workshop pieces do. He even explains the splitters.
Why dont you use the drop gun scrap exploit to create more space in your settlement?
Acid's probably from a makeshift battery.
Where do you get so much lead from scrapping?
could use the size glitch with weapons
I love this video but my only complaint is the audio is not balanced properly. The effects overwhelm your advice.
If you check out my latest livestream I thought of a way and executed a way to put resources to 2 different ones or more, and its expandable
the contraptions+ mod would probably help you out
this dlc reminds me of all those mods I used to download on mine craft lol
Note use the Decontamination arch in wasteland workshop to become afk forever (FIXES RADS)
with the sorter you could try to use two belts which says every so often lead will go around the sorter
