Homemade Crème Brûlée

- RECIPE!
Ingredients
- 4 cups heavy cream
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 6 egg yolks
- 1 cup sugar, 1/2 cup in mixture and 1/2 cup for crust.
1. Heat heavy cream and vanilla extract in a sauce pan until hot, but not boiling.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk egg yolks and 1/2 cup of sugar until well mixed. Pour in the hot cream gradually, mixing continually.
3. Place 6 (7 to 8-ounce) ramekins into a large roasting pan. Pour hot water into the pan to come roughly halfway up the sides of the ramekins.
4. Pour the egg mixture into the ramekins and bake at 325˚F / 165˚C for 45 - 50 minutes. The crème brûlée should be set, but still a little jiggly in the middle. Remove the ramekins from the roasting pan, allow to cool to room temperature, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours and up to 3 days.
5. Remove the crème brûlée from the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before browning the sugar on top. Spread a tablespoon of sugar on top of each crème brûlée. Using a torch, melt the sugar to for a crispy top. If you don’t have a torch, you can broil the crème brûlée to melt the sugar. Keep an eye on it, to make sure you don’t over cook it. Allow the crème brûlée to sit for at least 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy! All Tasty music provided by Audio Network and Warner Chappell Inc. Used with permission - Навчання та стиль
Some tips when making ya creme brûlée (because I have an addiction to it):
1. This recipe calls for a bit too many eggs, try out 5 instead of 6
2. Put that whisker on the lowest setting possible, you want the least amount of air in your creme brûlée to give it that nice, rich texture. (But still combine those ingredients pretty good)
3. Don't overload the sugar on the top, its nicer to have a crunchy top than a grainy one
Some tips for the more technical person:
1. Use a vanilla bean instead of vanilla extract for a better flavor (3 tsp of vanilla extract = 1 average vanilla bean)
2. Place a towel under the ramekins when they in the water bath
3. Have chilled cream and room temperature eggs
4. Use cane sugar for the top to get a better crunch
Have fun with making it this yummy dessert!
Thank you for this! I bought some premadr ones from Costco and the texture was like eggs it wasn't creamy at all such a let down.
Oh dear I wish I saw this earlier, the top of mine got a little brown... I’m really hoping it doesn’t affect taste too much
thank you for your tips! and also what is another thing you can use to hold your creme brulee when you don't have ramekins? or do you have to have ramekins?
@@ForestLofi try to find something flat and small. maybe a single use item from the grocery store
What is heavy cream?

Get laid often?😑😏😕😒
Kathleen Dance .
Natt Cozy 30 seconds is me taking off my socks. 15 seconds is me pulling down my pants, 3.99 seconds is sex and .01 second is me climbing out the window. I promise there is a better 49 seconds than sex.
Kathleen Dance correction time well spent wilst satisfactory accomplishment
so easy, I tried this recipe for the first time last week and i can't stop making creme brulee's
Now this is how you make a "how to" video, whether it be cooking or whatever. Straight to the point, not 20 minutes of nonsense. The video is so well made that it's entertaining just to watch for amusement. I've watched it 6 times, lol. Well done!
Fast and straight to the point, always a preferred method. Thank you.
I love that it is a good recipe, its short, and all needed information. Also the format is good.
I've always LOVED Crème Brûlée and nowi can make it! SOOOO GOOD!
what i love abt tasty buzzfeed is that it's quick, to the point and delicious. it doesn't need 5 minute video to tell us how to make creme brulee.
I've done this recipe and it turned out extremely delicious thanks for sharing ❤️
Made me so sad that they didn't include the sound when they cracked the crème brûlée :(. That sound is the best.
I need to marry this guy who say : ooh yesss

LJ Productions yes of course just make sure to use it between 2-4 days nd you'll be all good.
Did you use a torch or broiler
Thanks for the review. Since I'm going to give this recipe a go!
we had this in a restaurant once and fell in love
i will do anything to make this dessert for my family
I’ve only had cream brûlée once, in a nice restaurant years ago. It’s one dessert I’ve never forgotten. I’ve never seen it in a restaurant since- I live in a less sophisticated area! I had assumed that it would be very difficult to make but it is a high end custard. Looking forward to making it!
I've just begun to watch his videos and I'm already starting to feel like a chef
did just asume their gender? also Tasty is not just one person.
Tasty is a company by buzzfeed I believe, and tasty is a lot of people, since it's I company. So, it isn't just one person who makes these videos. I am just telling you FYI.
So easy, I've actually made this a couple times
It's my favorite dessert ever!
looks so good
I did this recipe for a school project, and my teacher and all my classmates are in aww when I torched the sugar. I got 100+
My dad used to make this everyone 4 times a week and boi did I love it 😍 but I can't see my dad anymore so ye I love it so much it's like waw and I'm French so ye
It's so hard getting that perfect brulee at the end. But I loved making it in class

Pro tip: If you dont have a blowtorch dont worry, just heat a spoon and gently press over the sugar to create the crust
Tq for the tips
Okay thank you I will try it
This looks tasty
I tried the recipe but I recommend 5 eggs instead of 6 XD works just fine :)
Flo the eggs thicken the dish, so fewer eggs means a thinner creme brulee
Oh don’t worry my girlfriend has millions of them...
Jacob Jones excuse me what
Jacob Jones that’s a lot of eggs. Does she have chickens or something?
@@ExpiredCartonOfEggNogg no, I tried this recipe with less eggs and it turned out way creamier...the one with 6 eggs was less creamy and more set cause it has too much eggs...it ended up tasting eggy. But it depends on the size of egg
i would die for it . wow
My favorite 😍
Who else can't stop watching this? :b
Is there a substitute for a vanilla extract that will work in baking?
absolutely not
yea use almond extract
Vanilla sugar works. If not, you can skip it. It adds a nice touch but it is totally unnecessary.
Use a Vanilla bean, just split it open and scrape off the inside into the heavy cream while heating it and stir.
Vannila bean
If you go the broiler route to melt the sugar, make sure to let it cool before serving it or it will come out soupy. The one we had a day later tasted the best because it reset to a solid custard.
I saw a comment that said to use an oven mitt and hold a spoon over a match then over the sugar.
Danny Hochstatter
Nigga who the hell is going to do the broil?
@@thecolorpurple4807 People with the broiler setting on their ovens.
god damn that's amazing
Imma make that real quick
i made this exactly to the recipe and it turned out really liquidy even after giving it time to cool at room temp and chilling it
add only 5 egg yolks instead of 6
Next on my To Cook list
I used a little bit more vanilla and used the double boiler, I think it gives a bit more...something. I also used a quater cup white sugar and an 8th(half a 1/4 cup) of brown sugar. Light or dark works fine either way tbh.
And I reccommend only sugaring if youre gonna eat if directly after. If you sugar it and end up putting it in the fridge after you do the brulee it gets soft and kinda gross in texture.
Have always been intrigued with what cream brulé was.... Only to find out, we have long been enjoying LECHE FLAN in the Phils.
Ah, also known as creme caramel. That’s probably what made whoever made the mistake think they were the same.
This is by far the easiest creme brûlée video! Thanks tasty!!
Oh my.. Hahah so Nice 😍😍
HOLY MY MOM MADE THIS EVERY SUMMER DUDE U CANT EVEN FEEL YOUR FEET AFTER EATING THEM ALL YOUR FEELINGS IS GOING TO THE Crème Brûlée LIKE FR FR

I watched so many videos and right after 5 mins I was done. One women was showing herself pregnant and talking more about herself and her baby than the recipe... and in the other the women was telling about her fears if the water gets into the remikins... well okay fine but at least change the caption of the video saying all about me and a little recipe too... but this tasty channel just made my life really easy... loved watching it

If you have an oven that is not as strong, 55-60 minutes is great!!
Wow now i. Gonna die of a home made crems for real B
Sam, Clover & Alex Should Try This.
nice branch
Followed the recipe to a T and after refrigerating them for 4 hours they were a little loose. With the consistency of thin pudding. Will it thicken after I sprinkle on the sugar and use the torch or should I put them back into the oven for 10 more minutes then put them in the fridge again?
I just moved from New Orleans I use to go to this place and get crème brûlée cinnamon rolls they had the crunchy sugary bits on top. Can y’all try and make some? I miss them so much and can’t find anything similar here In Arkansas.
ohh yes indeed.
Hey TASTY Team, can you do the creme brulee donuts?
sweet dab torch
Hi, what genre of music is this, or at least what is the song called? The first 15 seconds are dope.
Thx
I ate this for dessert
Is creme brûlée like French flan?
What kind of heavy cream did you use? (Asking specifically for the % of fat) Thanks!

I've been looking for a crème brûlée recipe for sooo long i cant find on that i feel like i should make but i think I should try this recipe for the people that have tryed this should i make it yes or no

Would coffee cremer work ? To substitute heavy cream?
Try to make it in a microwave or a toaster
Yummmmmmmmmm i love this 💆💆
You also can take a hot spoon and place on top of the sugar instead.
Can I use All Purpose Cream instead of Heavy Cream?
I ate 4 creme brûlée before watching this. 🍮🍮🍮🍮
What’s the alternative tool for torch?
can you make matcha creme brulee please?
Did you put the haevy cream and vanilla on heat
Just to ask: When you put the water in the baking tray, how hot is that water? Is it rolling boil, or maybe 150° F?
Can I use milk with the heavy cream for greater portions and to increase the amount as I want to create 16 and the heavy cream is a bit pricey
using the torch, how long you have to wait ready to eat
How many ounces is the ramekin
How long do you broil this for
Thank you for the tips , one question, as I don't have the tourch can I burn sugar aside and pour it over the creme brule ! as I tried to broil it but it heated the creme !
Bayan Qandla i used broil but left the door a bit open
Can I use milk instead of heavy cream? Thank you...
O-oh yes!
What's a good substitute for the sugar?
Is the cream normal cream or wipped cream
How hot does the cream need to be before I temper the eggs?
4 cups of whipping cream is too much. Both times i tried it i ended up with running creme brulee tried another recipe with only 2 cups and it turned out great.
where can i get that flamethrower thing
is this heaven?
Creme brulee is one of the easiest desserts for me
It is very easy but it is hard to get the right consistency, the best creme brulee is one that is not runny and the sugar on top must crack
What does the water in the pan do?
