  • Making the worst rated Crème brûlée recipe. Why is it green? It may have been good with avocado but the lime just brought it too close the guacamole. We've had good avocado desserts but this Crème brûlée wasn't it.

Avocados in Brazil are very different than the ones in the U.S.. In Brazil, avocados are very large (the size of a child's head) and are slightly sweeter, so they are used like other fruits.
In the U.S., avocados are small (smaller than your fist), much more savory, and used more like a vegetable (same thing with tomatoes).
For example, in Brazil, I ate avocado ice cream, and it wasn't uncommon there, but in the U.S. you really would not find avocado in a dessert.

I dont get offended easily but i get offended when it comes to avocado. Like, where we are we use it for sweet food, that’s normal to us. When people call it gross, it just breaks my heart. Seems so immature when people call other food gross just because they cook it differently. I have not tried savory avocado application yet but i’m open to it and think it’s actually a cool idea.

@@jewelianaz no. Most of the popular videos of people trying food are often full of knee jerk reactions or comments just for the views and sake of being dramatic.
Normal people would not act like they’ve eaten inedible gross things just because they’ve eaten sweet spaghetti or sweet avocado. I’ve seen people praise weird flavored icecream just because it came from Japan and other popular countries but a mixture of creamy, sweet, avocado..nah, that’s gross.
How many people have you seen commenting on how vile pineapple on pizza like it makes the dish inedible? Most of those people have eaten a version of it at some point and lived to tell their tales and had actually eaten it albeit it wasnt their favorite and had no real adverse reaction to it but at going along with reviewers online hating on pineapple on pizza just because they think it’s funny.
My point is, i’ll never trust people who eat only a spoonful of the dish and react based on their preconceived idea of what the dish should be. Specially people who makes video. Instead of being just and be a good influence, they make people picky, judgmental and close-minded in trying other food.
I do understand that people have their own tastes and there are food they just cant eat for psychological reasons, i for example can’t with brains, heart and lungs, they grosses me out tho, i’m jealous of people who can eat them. I also dont get what’s so good about raw fish, tried it, did not liked it. I dont like cooked fish much, how much more for raw ones. But if it’s something i eat normally, just cooked differently, i’m open for that. I’m used to sweet spaghetti but i’d want to try the American or Italian versions too.
Besides, there are better ways to say your opinion on food without chasing away people who might try them.
Also, i dont think im really offended like seriously offended, more like disappointed. Not because they dont like a food i like but on how they voiced their opinion.

Avocado is really good sweet you can make a milk shake with it
Heck you can just mash it up add some milk and condense milk and ice thats super delicious before my grandmother passed away she used to make it

Lol, I am full-on, full-blooded white-American - and even I know that (condensed) milk and avocado is a common dessert in other parts of the world. Though I, also, use to live in Los Angeles - and am pretty use to desserts made out of avocado. Cafe Gratitude has a vegan avocado key-lime pie that I still think about 8 years later; even as someone not vegan.
