Does your Ram have the Aisin? I test drove two Ram 3500's brand new back to back last year and hated the the way the Aisin shifted unladen. Couldn they have just been cold? I felt about 3 of the 6 shifts. I liked the ride of the one tested with the airbags. Test drove a GMC 3500 ( 10 speed) and couldn't even tell when it shifted! I want the exhaust brake, but also want a smooth quite ride. Are any of those reason causing you switch to GMC? I ordered a 40' Intech as well and will load to about 10k. What are your thoughts?
Aisin is def a more chunky trans but I heard they learn over time and are nicer after a few thousand miles. But it won't shift like the 10 speed , not ever. When I get my GMC I'll see how I like towing with it compared to the Ram
The transmissions are for work like towing. But they do get better. My buddie drove in my truck when I first got it. I found out he was telling people I had a brand new truck with a bad transmission. This was on a 5500 dump truck.
Agreed, its a nice truck. I have the same one. My only gripe is I wish Android Auto would go full screen. Its kinda anoying. Thanks for the video!
Standard output motor will outlast the HO all day.

I bought the 2024 HO Aisin, it’s different but you get used to it after a week. The difference from the SO to the HO is shocking in the way it pulls.
