Thank you for the extremely useful information about how not to die as a prot pala :D So mastery cap high key in: -Stonevault -City Of Threads -Grim Batol -Dawnbreaker (maybe cause first boss) 50.64% Mastery - 9424 (10600 without cham) Flask r2 = 2604. -> 6820 with cham -> 7996 without
I saw the following on wowhead guide: "Block Chance and Parry are reduced by 1.5% per enemy level you're fighting. In dungeon content, that means you'll have 3% less parry and block chance. In raids, you'll have 4.5% less parry and block chance." Does this mean that for 100% spell block, my block chance should be 95% instead of 92% when I do mythic+ dungeons?
How come mastery isnt top for dmg since it gives way more % atk power than crit per point? Is 24% more atk power not equal to 24% more dmg if everything scales with attack power?
Wonder what your opinion is of going heavy crit/mastery in this first tier and trying for unhittable. My pally is sitting at 23% parry, 55% block, 13% haste atm in 615 iLevel. Against trash packs, I'm well unhittable, but ST bosses I'm still missing like 7%..... iLevel will hopefully make up for that, but its close enough that I'm not super bad off on those. The lower haste does feel sluggish, but SotR isn't dropping off and my damage feels pretty good, so the only major issue feels like its less CDR for my CDs. That is certainly a concern, but having those gaps were you get hit with no block up just feels incredibly bad. Increased stat budget in S2 will no doubt solve this, but what do you think about this method for now?
There are other benefits such as normal block, spell block without buffs up, flat DR in consecration, and attack power. But IMO they are outweighed by crit and vers.
As someone that stopped playing in SL and came back for TWW, I really hate what they have done to prot paladins. It feels off, it plays off and it seems like blizzard doesn’t know what it wants the class to be. Are we dks, are we warriors or are we going to be our own thing? Haste/mastery has always been prot pally go to, sometimes verse. But it feels like now everyone is figuring out there is no stable stat anymore. There is only what allows you to manage thru it. Every prot pally I have spoken to has a different stat to stack and I feel like hero talents are the root cause.
@@DrPandemias its not better if you pug , its worst , since it doesn't reduce much dam anymore as it used to , doing more damage , means you gonna finish the key faster , its almost like u got 4 dps in your group , also more parry since the most dam you take is physical , plus more chance to crit heal , more shield absorb , its just some people don't value damage in pugs so they overlook this crit and don't understand how much stuff it gives you.
@@sharkstaint1373 There is no world where having more damage is more valuable for defenses than having DR and block with pugs specially with the diminishgn returns, you just need enough haste to be able to have 100% uptime on SOTR with WoG for faith in the light, absurd debate
@@DrPandemias how the hell u don't have sotr on 100% uptime bro , i had 20% haste and i could do that , if u can't have it on that much uptime then your gonna get nuked inside or outside concec , i played so many builds , im talking with experience , i was going haste mastery , reached 35% mastery almost 40% and ingored crit , had 15% dr with that much mastery n now i have 19% mastery 30 % crit , and 10% dr on concec , just manage your cds , your weak anyway outside on concec unless you do +6 keys , then it wont matter so much , crit gives you so much parry and shield with avenger shield and divine toll , you need to finish packs faster so udon't run out of cds , i can't believe im arguing about this , i mean you do you , stay stuck on scared concec gameplay mod.
Insane you typed and didn't read the full title nor watch the video. Also don't say you did cause your comment is ignorant in comparison to what he said... Mastery > Crit for 3 niche dungeons or if you struggle on surviving magic damage. Crit > Mastery for the rest if you can survive.
Thank you for the extremely useful information about how not to die as a prot pala :D
So mastery cap high key in:

Great video and extremely useful information, not just for paladin, but other specs as well. Learning a lot from watching your videos.
Those molten giants have bullied me for so long, it is time for my payback
This was extremely helpful. Thankd mate!
A lot of people in here arguing with one of the best in the game.
I love that guides and nice different mode to play tanks, can u deal another guide same this but this time to VDH Aldrachi?
so much thanks to your tips
3% dodge was added in S3 Dragonflight.
wouldnt it be possible to swap flasks for certain scenarios and go "the normal way" until you face certain bosses/mobs? if gold is no issue of course
Which stats u prefer for sanlayn bdk man, I do haste mastery so that I can also play unholy

better make some full guides on all of your tanks and why not a single one matches any guide on anything :D
Is first boss Dawn’ Obsidian Beam blockable?
yes

More crit chance = more crits
More crits = more damage
thx 4tips 👍

So since you play with 8% spell block chance, you have no reason to have more than 92% with your mastery + talents ?

Sorry bro, wowhead said go mastery. 😅
Mastery is better if you are pugging, I guess wowhead guides are aimed towards low keys and pugs.

You don't pug, we have spells go off none stop on us. Mastery and spell block is massive in an uncoordinated group
Good thing the title of the video says "Why I play..." and not "Why you should play...." lol
That’s why it’s titled “Why I go crit/haste”. Not
“YOU HAVE to go crit/haste NOW”!!
Play what’s best for you and your environment.
Yeah and he also explained when is mastery more important

Mastery > Crit for 3 niche dungeons or if you struggle on surviving magic damage.
Crit > Mastery for the rest if you can survive.
