It is an awesome one of a kind product for finding your true calling and achieving success without the hard work. Ive heard some super things about it and my best friend Jordan after a lifetime of fighting got excellent results with it.

Good points. I fall into most of them. Unfortunately, when you've been looking for a job for so long and get nothing you just want to give up. It's hard to get out of that mindset. It's exhausting. I never thought i'd be going through this at this time in my life. It sucks. Being told you are 'overqualified' simply means you're too old.

I disagree with number 5. If I seem desperate for the job for which you're interviewing me, that's because I am! So are a LOT of other people in this horrible economy. Desperation to land the right job doesn't mean I would be terrible at the job. In fact, it probably means the exact opposite. Look at me versus somebody who is cocky and expects to land any job he/she wants with no trouble. Which of us do you think will end up working harder for you and doing a better job for you?

Number 2 happened to me a couple times. The first job I interviewed for last month after graduating was really cool and I had an amazing interview but for some reason, they never called back. The Hiring Manager all but hired me on the spot. He told me to come back next week for training... and nothing happened. The same happened another time after that. I have come to understand that the level of enthusiasm they show in the interview doesn't really amount to anything, so I do my best but I don't put an obligation on the employer to do anything anymore. I learned to accept that I may not get hired even if I have all the qualifications and had a great interview. It's just the way the world is.

Linda, I love your videos - they are extremely informative and concise. I have been unemployed for 11 months now and have to put on a "happy face" during each interview and treat it as a new adventure. I do tell stories describing how I've solved problems for companies and also bring samples of my work instead of simply "telling" them my skills. I do smile frequently and am upbeat, give eye contact and ask questions. Yet, I am still convinced that there are "gray areas" in HR hiring practices. Companies may already have an internal candidate in mind, but make you go through the arduous process of interviewing a panel of managers and come back multiple times. Also, many job descriptions specify 3-5 years of experience with a college degree. This practice is clearly geared towards attracting a younger employee right out of college because they will work for less money and will not likely retire for a few decades. So, what can a seasoned employee do when nobody wants to hire them?

    5 reasons:
1: lack of optimism / confidence
2: put all of your eggs in the next interview ( instead make a connection with the hiring manager)
    3: self rejection / doubt
4: compare to others ( you have value to offer)
    5: feeling desperate than excited
Note: i applied for more than 180 jobs in the last 2 months and I have interviews almost everyday. But I am not reaching the 3rd or last round of interviews often. I don't even feel sad when I get rejected in my last round interview. I got used to it. I don't know if it's a good thing or not 😮‍💨

I resigned with my previous job feeling I didn't do good out of it and I've been feeling scared to look for a other job and apply thinking I'll repeat the same mistakes again. Also, been resting for a few months because of it and getting turned down by a company I really liked just a week ago. #1 disappointment
#3 knowing you are a good fit and knowing you will land the position depends on the interviewer.
My perspective is the factors of not having the position and knowing they won't.
I'm glad on the other hand that some said no. Often times the industry isnt professional nor successful. Not saying I prayed against the process but need something I will do.

Not exhibiting a negative demeanor or rejecting the suggestions, but it's not always the candidates. Often times its the recruiters. Sometimes, they tend to pick who they like or know oppose to the most competent. That's why there are people who are confused when they convey or converse with others on and during the job. Then the company has a weak ROI and high turn-overs. This continuously caused the company to search for candidates with a continuous cycle. No one owes anyone anything... well some people do;however, How would a candidate ne a best fit when their not granted an opportunity?

Employers need to get over themselves. Hire people that are ambitious for the position. Not the idiot who has a ton of experience. It is proven that people with experience are smug, self-absorbed troglodytes. They are stubborn and think they know everything. They behave towards others with an elitist demeanor. What a useless person to have in your company. As an ex-company owner, I had the best success with hiring green-horns. They WANTED to learn and do the job right. THAT made my business successful. They molded to my company's expectations. But hey!! My IQ is far above 70 so I can't speak for the 90% of company managers out there.

So I've been having some ups and downs looking for a new job. I recently had an interview for a Marketing position with a top tech company that took a few weeks. One week I had a call with their Cali--based recruiter. A few days after I spoke with their NYC-based recruiter. A week or so later I had an person interview and met with the NYC recruiter and had Skype interviews with 3 other people. THEN, that Friday or the following Friday they also had me do a video interview with 2 other people I'd be working with. I followed up with one person, who directed me back to the Cali person...Who called me back a few days later and told me I didn't get the job. Even though everyone seemed to be impressed with me, I just didn't have the experience that other candidates have.
On the one hand, it feels great to have been chosen for an interview with this company. That does great things for my confidence somewhat. But then it sucks that I didn't get the job. I've been getting some interest here and there...I'm waiting to here back from one company about the final interview I had 2 or so weeks ago, and I am in the process of the first steps of a Marketing Coordinator position for one company and a Content Development Internship at another. I've been contacted about an Editorial Writing Internship that ended up not being a fit for what I expect from a position financially.
I've been working on my brand for some time...Making sure I have a decent social media presence that amply showcases what I do. And it seems to be garnering positive results with some of the companies I'm applying to. But I know that in order to really impress any/every company that comes across my resume, I need to make sure my next role is full of opportunities to build KPIs for organizations. I want to be able to say that as a result of content I developed, links had an average click rate of 60-80% for social campaigns or email, etc etc, an average of 150 likes or shares, etc.
I have similar metrics for a company I worked at as a content writing intern a few years back, but I really need to push those results much farther. I need my next opportunity to give me the creative freedom to develop and market content, as well as work within established protocols, so I can really build an even more impressive resume. It's disheartening to be so close yet not close the deal on my next job yet.

Very interesting tips. I resigned from my management position because my portfolio did not follow the core values of the organization. I choose integrity vs a paycheck. I spoke to HR, one told me the problem was the director, but she asked what I would do since I was out of scope.
It will be 1 year now. I have done 13 interviews during this time, none landed anywhere. Some they say I am overqualified, some said I don’t have specific software experience (even if the software wasn’t mentioned on job description).
Now how sell your high standards and integrity? How be the right candidate, not overqualified?
I truly believe that nobody is overqualified if the company wants to grow. I work for the challenge, for results, to find solutions. Every company wants and need a person result oriented.

Let's also acknowledge that companies are also the main reason why candidates with experience and great qualifications end up jobless for long. FIRST, they don' t read the CVS in the first place and just hire someone who was referred by a friend. SECOND, the whole recruitment process needs to be reevaluated. Why now in the 21st century you still have to write an interest or motivation letter and still have to get references, some of whom might hate you or might even forget you worked for them. And the idea of the interview itself is very questionable, for some companies love to turn it into an interrogation party (l was once interviewed intensely for an hour by FOUR managers and I really got tired and stressed out. I knew I wouldn't get the job). Companies should judge the prospective employee through their CV and then observe their work in reality, not by unnecessarily complicated applications and torturous interviews.

If I get your lecture clearly, these are the five main reasons why I can't get a new job offer:
    01. Looking for a new job becomes a chore.
    02. Get disappointed & lost further interest in the job search/hunting.
    03. Overlooking oneself or self doubt.
    04. You are not professionally present.
    05. You feel desperate rather than excited.
I am seriously facing number two because I lost hiring decision twice within the period of two years. What is the way forward to me now? Mabor, South Sudan in Africa 🌍🌍.. Thanks
