I am army retired stopped doing RC techican repairs to many brought in their vehicles in for repairs never picked up
@2:03 .... Hey Chad, lets do some old school drag racing testing and tuning. Tappan Dr.
I'll keep my old school ways and run the usual SloShay 3cell Bel Air.. 🏁🎥💪🤘🏁
lol. Those were the days
Was just at don garlits drag museum by myself. Come on down
nice man..rock it out!!
I always said i wish we lived closer. Im going back to real st. Outlaw was to one sided. Guys who got pick up by teams like R1 those guys dont share to much of their tunes and tricks. Fortunately i have a few friends who wants all of us to succeed. Ill keep u posted MY Boy.✌🏿
yeah it got crazy man. i tired to do the best i could. nver had no secret tune or anything. if so i would have shared or at least went and won some races lol
I got out of the outlaw and converted my Apollo cars to 2.20 real street and 13.5 the nice thing is they all can be modified pretty quick to adapt to the races available lots of great deals out there if your starting out…
Nice. For sure lots of deals and really now everything we used over the years is in play.
I hope Real Street pops, but the VXL class is what got me into it! Jumped on a DR10M, R1 battery, Sweeps and bam! Not a lot of money and a whole lot of fun, and some new friends along the way! Had my first race this weekend, ended up 3rd (of 8), not in the money, but I had FUN!
Dude awesome. Keep it fun! Keep the cows down and keep killing it and enjoying yourself
Can you do a video explaining the numbers on the batteries and what are they best application for? Im a newbie and all i know is a 2s vs 3s, but 120c vs 150c i dont understand 4000mah vs 9000mah?
Batteries can be confusing for sure. Mahs see capacity or how big the battery is. C rating is a kind of bogus metric because we can’t measure it but are only being told. Higher the number the more power the cells are supposed to be delivered if all things are equal but again many of these are claims.
You coming to Utah next month for the salt city clash?
You know I'll be there
No sorry.
Totally agree the NPRC scene needs to reinvent itself, maybe a Fast and Furious class for the 4wd/2wd 1/10th on road/ rally /drift cars [260mm WB] with identifiably body like a WRX or Nissan slap on some slicks and rip down a 132ft strip. Run them stock is or overpowered like a 4Turn motor on 3s and see if you can hold a straight line 😄
I love watching the high powered cars like infractions or others. Problem is a 2s nprc car has beat these cars handidly head to head in grudge races so more classes would need to be added meaning more complication. It seems these races can only support a few classes since they take so long over a weekend. So who knows what the future holds. Hopefully good changes.
4x4 1/10th scale buggies on street tires would make good drag cars!😁🇺🇸
I'm hooked!!!!!!
Great. Enjoy it
Looks the no prep drag scene in the rc hobby is starting to fade away. It was fun when I got my Losi drag truck but it gets kinda boring if all you're doing is test launches. Time to find a new way to have fun with the sport. I mean they do spin out a lot so why not try something like barrel drifting?
Yes it def died off. I’ve raced a lot of different rc since then and it’s a lot more fun and rewarding
i just built a drag car... and now i have 2.....and this is the first thing i am realizing.... i have no where to test that would mock a real rc drag strip. my ocd is killing me on this one... no prep racing, but people are preping tires with things that should be thought of as preped tires, i mean, if you turn the tire into a glue stick with simple green or what ever isnt that "prep of the tire"..
if there was a class that was like, anything goes on 2wd, wheelie bar, wings, 2s, WHAT EVER BODY you want, needs to be a full body, some of the basic rules to mock real street drags ....... but NO FKIN TIRE PREP OF ANY KIND, nothing but out of the bag on a rim, a good burnout and run that bitch.... no tire prep of any sort would be almost luck of the draw.
retail parking lots was our place..sams club
@@Dorkyand40 sams club....lol
the nearest sams club to my house is 2 hours away. lol..
i live in a small town in northern cali, all roads are chip sealed or to busy to use..
finding that rc drag raceing is a very limited..
guess ill turn the $1500 rc drag car into a 100mph 3s bashing car....lollololol....
What are the ground rules of Real Street?
I'm in a VXL3/esc class using 2S. Minimum weight is 2350 grams and dry tire. Any chassis combo can be use and must have a stock body.
Very close to those. 2400g. Realistic body. No bar. No prep. Open battery now.
@@Dorkyand40 Thanks
@@Dorkyand40.... im not so sure on that. Ive still not heard any news moving away from roar approved hardcase. I did hear that theu will be adding my ne w shark mako to the no no list :(
Great job drop the sunglasses
👍
Real street is actual “no prep” racing. Outlaw has become promod. Just because you don’t prepare the surface before practice starts, doesn’t mean you’re just preparing the surface during practice run dragging snot down the track. That’s goes against the sprit of the class if you ask me.
Lotta truth man
Subscriber and have come here the past 2yrs only to see that good lookin black cat in the background. God Bless that real street cat!! > Im in upstate NY, and FINALLY after 30yrs of taking Tamiya and Losi and Associated buggies and making fake (but fast) drag cars out of them (alone mostly), Losi dropped the NP price to 199. Over the past couple months in our area a group was formed on Facebook and we now have a 100 people running them at our local Walmart Plaza on Sat nights. Tonight we met 14 new peeps. And more are coming from the posts. I just ordered a drm10 for my own fun (I really want the R1 but Imma hold back for the moment) In the meantime Ive spent a week getting this crappy suspended Losi NP yellow truck for our stock class going straight and its been a BLAST. Best wasted week of my life. I clocked 2.59 @ 52mph yesterday and Im stoked. Its proving very hard to go slower knowing I could go a lot faster with some cash 😁 These real street rules brings a new era. Or does it? Thanks for bringing it lets see what happens
I hope it does. You stilll need a group of people who just love rc and are not caught up in the gravity of outlaw and all the things it brings. Lucky says hello and thanks :)
People don’t even show up at my local club anymore. I think last week only 9 cars showed up.
Sorry to hear. Same thing man. We are at zero currently.
I've put up. $200 gift cards as 1st place Award no one showed up
wow..thats tough
Where I'm at the local group started in the beginning and they've ran no prep the whole time You've never been allowed to leave anything on the ground. There was a time when they allowed you to prep their tires and up until last year outlaw was allowed to put prep on the tires but it couldn't leave anything on the ground. The surface is only blown and we race it. Last year they started a stock class basically being that it has to be a factory stock car chassis-wise You can put carbon towers and stuff like that on it You can't exceed 6,500 KV the maximum C rating is 100 You have to use no more than a 100A ESC and it all has to be 100% sensorless No sensor wires are allowed to be capable of being plugged into the speed control or the motor. No carbon fiber upgraded chassis It has to be like a stock losi Traxxas dr-10 etc ie I built one from an ECX short course truck just to try it They work amazingly well. This year it's 100% no prep No prep allowed on the tires at all You are allowed to clean them with simple green or water or lighter fluid or alcohol but that is all. That applies to the outlaw class as well. It makes it really fun because it's a battle of who can get the traction. Like it today's race I watched a pretty stock associated DR10 with a rocket supersonic 80a ESC and a 5600kv motor . Put some serious hurt on some outlaw cars and then he turned around and since the car is 100% stock class legal ran it in stock class and ran up the list like crazy. That's the other thing in the local racemaster did is went back to the original OG top 10 list with shark tanks. One for stock class one for outlaw class. Truly is wild to watch a full-blown outlaw car and something that has ran at Vegas Make a pass 100% no prep. My personal outlaw car will be done for the next month's race I will start tuning it from there. I ran a box stock Losi F100 today in Outlaw and did pretty well with it I ran a really stock DR10 with a simple gear change in stock class and also did really well with it came in in the shark tank and in three rounds I ran my way up to fourth place in the list. It makes it a lot of fun and a lot of changing positions on the list and it makes it where it's a driver's game and a tuner's game. It really brings out those secret night test passes or after work one or two guys working together to try to run up the list making test hits to just try to eke out that little bit more some possible way.
That’s amazing man. Most of our guys just wouldn’t bother anymore. They either fell out of rc or just want to race for money. It’s very odd. The top ten list was so much fun. When we switched from that to cash days it all went downhill.
That's why i quit nprc it got lonely real quick testing alone.
Ugh. It’s awful man. Sorry. Maybe one day right?
What exactly is real street class?
im sure there have been changes but it used to be dry tire and no wheelie bar
Thats my car ... a clone of jrods green real street supra ... 2.26@64 onna stock 22s mid motor swapped with a 50$ ruddog 4.5t
Lol. Heck yeah that’s awesome. I love it when i see viewers make comments like this. It’s happened before :) Ncie car man. Nice car
Your cat is awesome!!! Great video hope to see you at a real street race soon.
:) thank you. She’s my baby :)
Chad is absolutely right. To put it in perspective about people falling off, I'm still new to the hobby. Because my build is a DR10(Sort of. I used the suspension arms, hubs, bones, and ballstuds from my kit. EVERYTHING else is aftermarket.) I latched onto Chad and this channel. He has taught me a TON. But he started pulling away from me as he grew himself. I actually purchased my Beef Tubes Brisket because of this channel. But Chad, for good reasons, went a different direction just before mine arrived. I'm actually thankful. Because I had to stick with that chassis it forced me to learn a lot. Now I have possibly the planet's sole 0 Degree kickup Brisket Chassis which is now going to make a sexy Real Street ride and save me a ton of money.
Hey thanks man! I hope that ride turns out crazy awesome!!
What are the rules to the real street race rc
You can find the detailed list on the real street Facebook group or the nprc group. But basically no bar. No pro mod body. No prep. Heavy car.
Vxl outlaw car is the way to
Hear a lot of that
Boomers killed everything outside of Outlaw. Classes that are supposed to be stepping stones need to be geared towards the kids that are the future of the sport. Most of those kids don't want to run a body from a car that's been out of production longer than they've been alive.
My area racing has collapsed as well. Nothing outside of outlaw has stuck, and the rules changing every race trying to keep interest means I don't even have cars that qualify.
Sorry to hear man. Seems like it’s 50/50. People either gave up or it’s growing. I’m afraid sometimes it’s just too late.
