    Let's not forget that ZVC started his 'career' by stealing models. Early on he had NO idea how to modify anything on the glk. He would reply to comments admitting as such. Yes, over time he developed his own CAD skills but that does NOT excuse him ripping models and making a profit from them....AT ALL.
    I take great pride in admitting that I own several ZVC stl's that I did not pay a penny for, and never will. He should be sued into oblivion.

    I'd like to see the addition of these "cap & ball revolvers" which use toy percussion caps to lob plastic bullets like a BB gun- THOSE are, for me, the pinnacle of a 3D printed toy gun. As close to the real thing as laws allow you.

    I'm actually printing a fgc6. it's the airsoft version or the fgc9. it shoots 6mm airsoft bb's and it's powered by propane and propane accessories (that's what pressurizes the gas mag). i could also try co2 but whether or not it will work remains to be seen. the guarder air nozzle can probably handle it but i only have the lower printed but i will pint the upper and internal components soon enough. will probably take me a couple hours to assemble. also since im in the usa as long as I'm not in a blue state (I'm in Utah so I'm fine) doesn't matter if its airsoft or real steel. 100% legal but in the case of real steel if i transfer it to someone that's trafficking. of course thats irrelavent with airsoft. its also select fire so 3d printer go brrrrrrrt indeed.

      Short ans: no
      Long ans:
      From what i understand of nz law, they say you cannot make anything that fires a projectile using combustion (needs licence) and that bringing replicas out in public could get you arrested, but has nothing on making replicas or models that can't fire, this is evident for e.g if you order a 1:1 model gun from china or smth or a full metal 1:3 scale replica that can't fire, they all will pass though nz customs and be shipped to you just fine, as for 3d printing, the police have been looking into 3d printed firearms much more and future laws might stop you from printing frames e.c.t that can be converted into firing models, but for now i've heard no such law being implemented yet

    I bought a toy gun that is something like this from AliExpress. That version had bullets that separated bullets and casing. So when you activated a spring in the casing the bullet would shoot. So basically a fully working gun with case ejection as well. This video made me interested in 3D printing guns. As for making props and models of guns. If i were to get into this hobby what printer would be reasonable to get? In terms of price. What material would be cheap and what would be best quality? I know PLA is the most basic kind but what more is there? Thanks for any suggestions.

    • @ideas-y4p
      @ideas-y4p  Місяць тому

      These type of models with entry level printers like the Ender series are good for the job.
      As for fillament, i have used many types, but PLA takes top spot as my go to for frames and slides due to its strength and ease of use.
      For slightly flexible things like grips, PCL is barely printable (low melt point) and likes to stick (very stuck) to print beds a lot but has nice and soft grip in return.
      For mag springs and strong parts, ABS or PETG is my go to due to it retaining shape for a long time, but id only recommend it for parts that are small and have little surface area (warps too much), but u can counter this by applying a thin layer of PLA and then printing on top of it (you will have to remove the PLA layer though)

    • @ideas-y4p
      @ideas-y4p  Місяць тому +1

      if you have uploaded the files onto your printer and extruder is moving to its position and moving around but not extruding, then you should check for any clicking noise (without loading fillament in), depending on where its comming from, worse case is that you need a replacement.
      If there is no such noise, then all you need to do is check that you have the right fillament size and then make sure that you settings are all set for your specific printer

      @ideas-y4p  10 днів тому

      If I did say that, then I would be wrong cus I wouldn't even be alive 30 yrs back, lol as for printer tech, the first printers were introduced around the 1980's and the first affordable ones would come out in around 2010 as for my printer, it was released in 2018. Idk I just felt like answering this

    There where lots of 1:4 gunmodels at thigiverse, but the guy sadly tok everything down. I could safe some of his models. His Homepage is also offline.
    I recomment 3d printed nerf blasters, there are lots of cool designes and they are fun to build.
    Something is wrong with your printer, better calibrat it.
