If you don’t want to the ecu tuned off rip then you can connect the neutral safety switch and starter relay control wire together off of the range sensor plug and you can start the truck. Connect the vss and you can drive it. Been driving mine like that for a while now. I’m gonna make a detailed video on how to do this so we can take the confusion out of this swap
Great series, getting parts together for a Silverado LTZ 5speed swap. Alittle different because it will be 4wd, but none the less, seeing your videos is encouraging! Keep up the great work, look forward to your new content when it comes out!!
what did you do differently? I also have a 5.3 4x4 ext cab and i cant afford to get the wrong parts. My 4L60E served with bravery and resilience back in high school but now its giving up. Don't wanna get rid of the truck tho :/
Stock intake outflows the aftermarket fabricated intakes and most of the high dollar Holley intakes the numbers has been proven that’s why you see a lot of people leaving the stock intake manifold and just shaving them down for a smoother look or they go with a stock TBSS intake. Sweet looking truck btw very clean
Great content, was curious on how the electrical and what not went, watched all your other videos and didn't seem to catch anywhere where it seemed like you had issues with the factory harness being in your way. Any tips or notes on that would be much appreciated brotherman🤙
Man your channel does not get the views it should get! Love your channel man! Hopefully ill get my truck going with the swap sometime (looks almost identical to yours lol)
love the build on this, I'm doing a similar swap with my 2500hd had a 6.0 4l80e drive train and went to a nv4500 I had in my old truck it's all together and done, but I could only get it started by putting the auto pcm back in and plugged in the neutral safety switch would like to know how to get it all wired in nicely or at least better than how it sit. Not too safe being able to start it no clutch and in gear incase someone else drives it
Marcus wood it good to see you Back on UA-cam video again and your Girl Ashton I am you Both Big Fans do more Cummins Diesel Truck Stuff too I like your Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Racing Truck man 😀😀😀😀💯💯💯💯💥💥💥💥o Happy 4 of July to you Marcus wood and Ashton too ?????
I have a 2002 Sierra that’s a v6 truck with a 5speed in it. I have a 5.3 I want to build and put in it. I’m assuming if I use the same parts you used I can use my original 5speed?
Good to see you back !! Got a quick question I done the swap but I did the interior wiring harness of the year of the motor witch is 06 my gauges work besides my fuel gauge and my cluster lights out only they turn on ones I scan it wit the Dinos
Hey bud also in obky I’m actually in the process of swapping my Tahoe to nv3500 but no luck finding a transmission any ideas? Bad ass channel btw keep up the good work man
I have basically the same truck as that red one in the back ground,it's 99 4x4 with a stage 4 btr cam,I'm currently getting the parts for the 5 speed swap, I also have a UA-cam channel (very few videos so far)(gearheadchronicles) what do you use to edit? as I would like to be better at making videos and film this process.your videos are awesome and I've used them for getting my parts, thanks for sharing, hope you see this soon but if not keep your toes dangling out the throttle body and rubber to the ground brother!!
Great content love the truck! I have a 99 blue ext cab that I'm swapping to a 5spd, nv3500 I have an uncut parts truck and was also wondering about the wiring as it pertains to the neutral safety switch and reverse lights, also they're both v6 trucks I'm just looking to add a little fun to my mpgs and I was wondering if I can get by with just swapping the pcm's?
Speed sensor is plug and play. You’ll either have to wire your own reverse lights to a switch or tap into your factory harness. As for the neutral safety switch you’ll need a jumper wire on the factory harness to bypass it. I’ll make sure and show exactly in the next upload!
Hello Marcus I'm very Impressed with your videos about the swapping I was hoping to see how you made the cut to install the shifter with that aside I really hope to have a little Pow W with you about if you can do that on a Dually I really hope to know how can get in touch with you PLEASE thank you so much for your videos and I wish you Wonderful Holidays to you and your Love Ones 👍☺️
I am curious to if you had to do any tuning for the auto to manual process, if the ECM went crazy cause it didn't see the transmission. I have a 05 Escalade that I am about to be swapping a nv3500 into, for now, the engine will be stock, so I wouldn't need any tuning for of the engine itself, just transmission stuff
How’s that clutch holding up you put in with the added power? I have a cammed 6.0 lq9 pairing with with an nv3500 that came in the truck. Look’n for a good performance clutch. By the way, wish you posted more man! Your channel is chill with a lot of knowledgeable information
New to the channel 👍 Quick question I just did a 2004 5.3 swap on my 2006 v6 5 speed Chevy I’m having issues when I turn on the switch. It’s blowing a ing 10amp fuse and doesn’t let the truck turn on. By any change you know what route to take. I’ve try looking everywhere but no look 2004 5.3 v8 completely stock other than flash computer it has the stock 5 speed I would appreciate a feed back even if you wouldn’t know thanks 🙏
Is plastic intake flows better. Yes that is dyno proven. Intake up grade to 72mm Throttle body helps alot. That cold air intake is a joke😂 how can you call a hot air intake cold.
Did the nv3500 come in the 4x4 extended cab Silverados too? would like to know before i buy all the parts and it doesnt fit. My 4L60E is not long for this world. its been running exclusively on Lucas transmission fix for a while now but i think its time to take it out behind the shed.
I put a five speed AR5 in my 2003 Tahoe I was just curious if your Silverado had clutch pedal wiring underneath the dash or if you added some sort of clutch pedal switch I converted my Tahoe to hydroboost and needed a new brake pedal to go along with it so I used my factory brake pedal to build a clutch pedal I did not like the plastic GM one I know there is a guy that makes a new pedal mount but I still did not want the plastic pedal but now I do not have a provision for a clutch pedal switch yet
Hey man do you have rear rotors if so how’d you get your parking brake connected? Been trying to find a solution before I swap my single cab with a t56. Thanks.
Did you have to use a slave spacer for the clutch to release?? And did you measure the clearances for the clutch slave and if so what numbers did you get.
No spacer. No measurements. Clutch engagement and release has been perfectly fine thus far. Probably wouldn’t have hurt to give it a check but we went with the ol send it method for this one lol. Thanks for watching!
@@marcuswoodxx no worries at all I’m using all brand new stuff and for some reason it’s hard to get the trans into gear. It goes into gear no problem when the truck isn’t running but as soon as it’s running it doesn’t like to go into gear I pulled the transmission back out to see if I did anything wrong but everything checks out okay.
I got mine from core shifters too, they custom make every one so it might take a couple months to get. Also the foam insulation between the floor and trans is the only hard part of the job
I love how detailed your videos on the transmission swap is. Im swapping an Nv4500 into my 2001 1500
Anything really needed to do that swap??
@@Alllsho84 same stuff really as the nv3500
can you go back and make a video on how you connect the wiring 5-speed to the 5.3 please thank you like the videos
Just run the Vss signal and have the ecu retuned not whole lot of wiring for these
Thank you when are you coming back with a video 😎🤙

Cut the 2 plugs from a junkyard manual & splice them into your new engine harness
Hey how about the wiring aspect. Youve covered most other than the most important part. Help us out. Wiring video PLZ
