I enjoyed the podcast/video from Amanda. It's interesting to hear from a 1st generation Korean perspective. Being a 3rd generation Korean, my grandparents were first generation, with grandfather being labor and grandmother being a Korean bride, the experiences then and now, have a diverse experience which is common with other ethnic groups assimilation into Hawaii and American experiences. It's good to hear the current experiences and information, I hope she continues to document/record her experiences for the future generations. It's hard to trace all the earlier experiences that haven't been recorded/documented but the future generations will lose out on the current experiences if they aren't careful. As is, few of the 2nd & 3rd generations have much to trace their ancestry to their origins of Korean coming from the early 1900's. Mahalo.
