Great job on this install. I bought this bumper on August 3rd. and just got it installed about 3 weeks ago. Supply chain issues. I liked the design so much with the cube lights and light bar mounting options I decided not to cancel the order and get something else when there were ongoing delays. Love it! And, I left 4WP Sacramento install it. Too much work for this old man.
The best thing about stumbling across your videos besides the fact that I get to follow along your build and the awesome production quality.. is that the Tacoma I just bought on saturday is also silver, and I hated it at first but you're making me love it because silver seems to pair REALLY nicely with black.. You've helped me figure out what color rims and accessories I'll eventually slap on my truck :o
I got the Body Armor HiLine for $530 shipped from Morris 4x4 back in March, the TRD pro skid plate is not a problem and looks awesome with the bumper. The weight was less than 40 lbs.
I really dig the winch bumper system!! Very functional for pushing things, pulling and protection purposes 👍🏽 The weight of some bumpers can require upgrade to a heavy-duty coil like oldman emu springs. I believe you will be fine in regards to the weight. I bought an ARB Steel bumper for my 1stgen tundra, and its essentially 140lbs so I purchased the super duty oldman emu coil springs for better performance. -Great looking tacoma 🏜👍🏽

I 100% relate to you about the front plate. I have been searching for a bumper with all of these features plus having a place for the front plate. While everyone tells me "Just take it off," I don't know how they manage to get away with it. I know from experience that I get constantly harassed by the police about the lack of front plate (I have also a '94 300ZX, which my particular specimen never had the holes from the factory so I keep the plate in the windshield). Story time that nobody asked for: Once, when I was about to get a ticket for it, I seen a Camaro approaching in my side mirror with his front plate bracket filled with a confederate flag plate instead, and I totally threw him under the bus. I said, "What about him? That guy actually has a place for his plate." The cop immediately left me to take him down. Anyway, thanks for covering this bumper installation in such detail. It looks both great and well made, and I have made up my mind on buying it.
I too was happy to see this new line from 4WP. I like the look without the wings as I appreciate a more subtle look for my Tacoma. But with this bumper even with the wings it's still low key. Great video thank you!
Watching you lift the bumper up made me chuckle. I just put on the ADD stealth fighter bumper and i just had to lay it on myself and then try a few attempts lol. You did a lot better than i did.

That looks good. I like the short height of the brush bar...Also, the weld job, at least on the right side (bar to bumper), looks exceptional. FWIW, floor jacks can come in handy for lifting heavy parts n things.
Thanks for the demonstration. Just stumbled across your channel as I was looking at that bumper on the 4WP sites now that I have a Tacoma. I guess it may be better to decide if I want the wings and install them at the same time since I need to trim/cut the existing bumper anyways. I'm sure you already saw all the various safety tips, so I won't add them here for you to go through again. I'll have to take a look at the rest of your channel for ideas since I'm just getting back into off-roading after a 10 year hiatus.

My wife had the misfortune of a boo boo that resulted in the front bumper cover being replaced on out TRD OR. I could not cut a perfectly good one knowing what they cost but you did a great job !.
You should get some hood struts, and be done with the prop rod. Sokie tech makes good carbon fiber ones. I have been running them for about a year and a half with no issues. I love them. Easy to install, with no drilling required, unlike some other hood strut kits. Takes less than 10 minutes to install. Costs around $100
Great job Chloe. Bumper looks great. I would of tried a floor jack somehow when it came to lifting the bumper on. Loved the thumbs up smile @ 19:10 . You are not afraid of trying anything when it comes to modifying your Truck. And that is what we love bout you.

Great bumper upgrade, I prefer a big brush guard or bull bar myself. That’s good protection in a parking lot though. Also try the wire mesh screen mod since you can remove your bumper so easily, to prevent bugs and also pebbles from damaging your ac condenser.
This may be a good option for me not only because of the reasons you mentioned, but because the bull bar is low enough that it won’t obstruct the tss sensor mount on my trd pro grille. It sits on the lower side.
I lol'ed when you were trying to lift the bumper in place while there was a jack stand just 6' from you that you could have put it on and lifted it into place without trying to muscle it in.
Also a good idea to tie your hair back or use a hat when using grinders or cutoff wheel tools. My uncle learned that the hard way when he was younger and had long hair. He always wore a backwards ball cap when working except for the one time he didn’t. That bumper looks good by the way 👍
Good Job Chloe but please need to take your back into consideration! Made my back hurt just watching you lifting…recommend getting a buddy to help or I’m sure the Jack would’ve helped while you guide. But either way, bumper looks nice! I’m waiting for my SSO bumper to come in.

i just installed the same bumper on my tacoma TIPS 0. when removing the oem bumper, pull towards the side when youre at the point where the bumper meets the fender 1. you dont need to remove the fog lights, just disconnect them from the wiring harnesses 2. when relocating the powers steering cooler, first loosen the power steering rubber tube bracket, bolt down the power steering cooler using the relocation brackets, then bolt down the power steering tube brackets. you need to rotate the OEM bracket, on the rubber tube, towards the rear to mount on the relocation bracket as seen in the vid. 3. you may want to trim the bumper at the point where it flattens out. as you can see in the vid, its a tight fit. the bumper is pushed up right against the bullbars. 4. get another person to help mount the bumper 5. you may need to hammer the frame bolts from side to side to get them to line up with the bumper holes. screw on a nut then hammer. 6. screw on the bottom bolts first to close the gap. do the same with the front bolts. then torque to spec. otherwise youll have gaps duh
I like the idea of this bumper because with a standard Bull Bar, you have to remove the skid plate AND it's difficult to find one that doesn't interfere with the front dynamic radar cruise control. Plus the level of the built in bull bar. I already have a 20" LED light inside the grill just below the main grill and above the bumper, but being able to add a larger one this bumper makes it better in my opinion.

Hi Kloe! If you really want to? You can put your license plate right above the new front bumper, ON THE GRILL! And you can securely attached it to the grill with zip ties! : ) Then you can get your whence ( which you or someone else may need when your out on the off roads ) Nice truck, nice video, nice watch with the compass! The Southern Style Offroad (SSO) bumper comes with the option of the wings also. I think they've been around for a couple of years now. How come you didn't use your very expensive jack with the massive wheels to help lift and position the bumper? Love your stuff btw!

Nice bumper good addition to your truck. I’ve been looking into bumpers for a while and I think I will go with the ARB summit bumper it is a much more aggressive looking bumper which you’re not a fan of. My reasons for picking this bumper is, i live in the Rocky Mountains in Canada and get a lot of wildlife this bumper would offer my truck a lot more protection the one you put on your truck wouldn’t do much in an animal strike. The other reason for choosing this particular bumper is that it offers more protection with a higher clearance and to my knowledge the ARB bumpers are the only bumpers currently on the market that are engineers to work with all your safety features including your airbags. This is the reason why I think I will be going with the summit bumper from ARB.

Careful buying from 4wp, a buddy of mine was scammed by their install team. He Purchased a lift, and not all parts were installed. Just a heads up. Double check what you buy if you have it installed by them.
Oh chloe....one thing and it may have been mentioned but be sure to pull back and tie up your hair so it's well away from the grinder disc...👌👌 I'm a nurse in a Trauma ICU and that should be enough to tell you where this is going...😂

If there was a winch on the bumper how would you put it into free spool usually the lever is on top of the winch I didn't see a cut out to do that? Great install!
Very nice 👍. I really like this because it has such a factory look to it and I really like the factory look of the third gen Tacoma. I did see in some of your 4wd coverage that theirs has one almost identical to this that also wraps around and has a very factory look to it too. Do you know if this one requires cutting? It did look very good and it would be nice to have the wrap around coverage. But I like the one in the middle like you have also. Thank you 👍
Nice job. I just installed a 105 lbs rear bumper on our gladiator and I couldn't line up the four build in bolts on the bumper to the holes in the frame. Some things you just have to have help with, or the right tools.
You definitely sold me on this bumper! Great video and excellent install! Have you ever considered using a Jigsaw with a fine tooth blade for your cuts? I think you should give one a try, it might really help out with the radius cuts. Any way thank you for posting this video I’m definitely going to get one of these bad Larry’s and install it especially with the help of your video!

Turned out great adds strength ad rigidity while not being too obtrusive and keeping the factory look.

Just installed this bumper with the wings on my 2019. It looks great for the price point amd no doubt will serve me well. I like the low profile

TIPS

If there was a winch on the bumper how would you put it into free spool usually the lever is on top of the winch I didn't see a cut out to do that?

Very nice 👍. I really like this because it has such a factory look to it and I really like the factory look of the third gen Tacoma. I did see in some of your 4wd coverage that theirs has one almost identical to this that also wraps around and has a very factory look to it too. Do you know if this one requires cutting? It did look very good and it would be nice to have the wrap around coverage. But I like the one in the middle like you have also. Thank you 👍

Nice job. I just installed a 105 lbs rear bumper on our gladiator and I couldn't line up the four build in bolts on the bumper to the holes in the frame. Some things you just have to have help with, or the right tools.
You definitely sold me on this bumper! Great video and excellent install! Have you ever considered using a Jigsaw with a fine tooth blade for your cuts? I think you should give one a try, it might really help out with the radius cuts. Any way thank you for posting this video I’m definitely going to get one of these bad Larry’s and install it especially with the help of your video!
