YES! Same, this had happened to me numerous times - especially when using Triggers for Off Camera flash for my client work. I had 2 international shoots (big, world known brands in the food industry) and it was so embarrassing when my XH2 kept on freezing. It required me to take the battery out to restart. Happened about 9 times within the time of 6 hours of shooting. I am hoping the new update for the XH2 and XH2s fixes this + improve the AF reliability.
I was in the same boat, I started panicking coz it never happened before, I had to pull battery so many times it was weird.
Here’s hoping it’s fixed!
Something not right at Fujifilm for years. You complaint of latest firmware.. But these are long problems. Every generation was falling way behind the competition in terms of autofocus. Somehow things are not shown well to the public. I have Fuji, Sony and Ricoh. I prefer to use Fuji by a fair margin. But it is also the system that promises a lot and gets to much unreliable. This is 2024!! Why is Fujifilm the only camera that I am constantly checking for focus? Every shot is a random experience.
Never had freezing on the H2S- only using a high speed cfxpress card - Delkin Black series, and only fuji lenses… no issues
I use angelbird cf express and never had an issue until the 6.0 update and the freezing was using Fuji lenses also
@@AlpsLifeeI 2nd this. Had my first few freezes after that firmware as well. Only about 2, but still
@@AlpsLifee the angelbird cards you use, are hard to comment on, because they have several series, slow and fast, on top of which their first revisions of some cards were bug-prone… you need to be using their fast series and second revisions for reliable performance

@@Mortenthorpe-DKyeah I’m sure there’s lots of variables but I’ve used the Xh2s heavily and only had this issues once the 6.0 update came out, so I’m just going by pattern, hopefully on my next job the camera works smoothly
i am planning a holiday in tanzania and Zanzibar in september. i need reliable autofocus by then.
if Fuji doesn't give us a fix til then, i will also downgrade my firmware. what good is reala ace if the fotos are put of focus?

Took my XH2S to Japan and had it experience freezes a few times on 7.0. AF still seems to drift to objects that aren’t what I started out with. Ruined a shamisen performance because it drifted from face to someone’s camera on tripod instead. I brought my A7R3 as backup and was using it for some stuff because I was concerned I wouldn’t get shots or clips with XH2S
It seems crazy that a huge established camera company wont actually fix the problem. You have to ask, are they in financial straights or just dont care? Its obviosly an attempt to prevent a costley recall and not put out a new camera with a different AF system. No brainer….they have faulty parts.
They only care about film sims. That's what 99.99999% of fuji spend R&D money on.
Autofocus, image quality, speed and UI are useless. Only thing that matters are film sims. MORONS
Thanks for your Video. I've got Autofocus problems within shorter distance of about 1m. I got the red AF! symbol. If I go for something a couple meters away it works out fine. As soon as I switch on animal detection the short distance works out fine, but longer distance won't focus anymore. Never happend before 6.01 with the 50-140 2.8. Not good
Honestly the variations in issues with everyone’s cameras is maddening.
@AlpsLifee it's not the camera, it's the lenses and settings.
@@chicaneti I found the solution. It was in the Camera. The range limiter has been set to 5m. As soon as I switched it back it was fine again.
@@oliverh.7453 There are issues with Fujifilm AF, but there are also things like this that are making it seem worse than it is. I hadn't used Multi-AF mode in forever and tried it last night. It was so bad with an f1.4 lens. Generally fine at 2.8 though. There are always more settings to find that are holding us back from getting what we are hoping for.
Indirectly you are bashing me for making those vids , 1. For my usecase the AF is bad especially in video 2. Settings you're talking about that I make the camera intentionally to fail is not true , tracking and speed , lower the tracking (0) the camera tries to focus fast or a new subject or fast moving subject ( its not actually tracking, its just how fast you want the camera to re-focus) , and if you increase the "tracking" to +4 the camera wont focus immediately on a moving subject, it waits longer. 3. I can compare the firmwares instantly , no need to have job to see is bad , and im not doing a job if I dont know how the camera works , i just compared 1.03 to 7.0 running towards the camera in video . And you're welcome , Your xh2s doesnt focus on the hands no more because of my "bad" vids.
What I said was, people should focus on their own experiences and judge for themselves, I’ve seen your videos, I’ve seen others, I’ve seen people deliberately set up the test to fail (I never mentioned names out of respect just what I see) there’s multiple factors that can cause issues, I bashed Fuji for releasing bad firmware which it was, could there be a problem with your camera since mine is not as badly as affected as yours? What’s important is that people make their own decisions, someone can watch a video and be influenced very easily by what they see and make it their own reality when it’s not the case at all, why is my Xh2s not as bad as yours? I just gave my opinion and thoughts, I never mentioned anyone :)
@@AlpsLifee Why your xh2s dont show the bad af like in my tests ? because maybe you do the tests at f 3.6 and maybe you dont do dynamic shots , moving towards or away from your subject.
I typically shoot between F1.8-F2.8, not sure why ur results vary so extremely
Don’t you think that your comment sounds totally arrogant!? The issues were fixed because of your videos and he should be thankful…. Man oh man…. How many subscribers do you have 1.500? If you got the self confidence to say that you had a major impact on Fujifilm fixing the issues, it’s as fair to say that you and your channel are totally irrelevant for Fujifilm.
@@AufKohleGeboren Yes I am arrogant and yes I had impact , on my first video about this everyone was telling me I dont know how to use my camera, and now look 2 months later everyone has complained about it , you can find discussions on any fuji forum and They fixed the issue.
