I only buy cars outright. I own my home. I absolutely hate having to owe anyone anything after 3-ish decades of being an emergency away from bankruptcy. As an aside I think getting rid of matte paint is good. Now they just need to have matte plastic on controls instead of gloss.
The destination fees are a total cash grab. I remember back in 2016-2017 when destination charges were like $600, now some automakers are charging $1900. Also to add for the relaxation package, we absolutely love it on our GT-Line, but it turns it into a four-seater car since the third row becomes useless. We are all under 5 foot 7 though. 😂
Looks like everyone had the same question as me. Kia gets Tesla Supercharger access Jan 15th 2025, but no NACS charge port on the 2025 models? All while removing other features, but not lowering prices. 👎🏼
Not sure that the EV9 is so popular because of the good lease deals, but rather because of its 3-row seating for larger families. Also, I assume the 2025 model will come with a J3400 port, don't you think?
It won't. They would have said that. It won't come till 2026 model year at the earliest but most likely not till 2027 when they do a mid-cycle refresh on the car.
Do we know if the US factory is able to crank out matte paint colors for the 2025 IONIQ 5? I’m thinking this removal comes with a switch from Korea to the US re: paint facilities.
Another piece of news for the EV 9 is the entrance of the first real competition, the ID Buzz. I think the EV 9 will do well because it’s a great car (I hear) and it has better specs, and I think will be available much cheaper for lease or buy with discounts. But now if you want a 3 row EV, I mean a real 3 row EV, that has a starting price that is in the same price range, you have another choice. If I needed 3 rows I’d go for the EV 9, but the ID Buzz sure looks cool and if you wanted a cool minivan, well then it’s your only choice.
@@TheIoniqGuy Interesting choice by Kia, but the 25 Ioniqs are getting it right? But yeah if the only other change is the LR sunroof, then there's not a strong reason to get the 25 unless they made smaller changes like new components or hardware.
Wish I could go to that cars and coffee event. Going to have one on the west side of the US? Those lease deals look so good! Would the EV9 be a good swap for a van?
Wish i could attend your event, especially since i am leasing a GT-line EV9, but it's just a little too far from my location near Pittsbrugh; i don't have the time to make such a trip this weekend. On a completely different note, another reason why the matte finishes might be going away: no front display lightshow on the matte finishes; only the gloss finishes have that neat (but useless) little feature (on Land and GT-line trims... at least for 2024 models.)
I was hoping for NACS port and 400v charging capacity increase (limited to 86kW) , but it seems like Tesla Supercharger are not good option for Kia EVs

Wish Canada received these same crazy lease deals. Currently $930/month on a 60 month lease

The ev9 walkaway from trailer harness is not available on your site yesterday. When will be available?

Does the 25 have NACS or no?
No

No NACS port???
Would’ve loved to attend but I’m in Canada.

Would love an EV9. I’ll probably get one in 3-5 years. Used. For $$74,000 I could buy two brand new Subarus.
Batteries getting exponentially cheaper? Raise prices!
I spy a nice 3D printer
First!
