The power-up SFX which accompanies Gohan's follow up strike merely punctuates how serious Gohan was; as well as Frieza's surprise. For observant fans, tbis further cements his shock at the fact a five-year-old Saiya-jin could even come close to his power; especially after his first transformation.

For 5 minutes until his stamina and rage ran out. Still the mere fact that he could even surprise outspeed for a short time and DAMAGE 2nd form Freezer if only a scratch when even Galick Gun from Vegeta did jack is nothing short of amazing. Hell its also why Vegeta wondered if Gohan wasnt the Super Saiyan really, Piccolo carried 2nd form Freezer even if Freezer was still holding back and didnt need the 3rd form to beat Piccolo as he himself stated, but theres a reason they still had hope even before Piccolo came, when Gohan was first healed and got Zenkai, which by itself was enough to even make 3rd form Freezer struggle for a bit. Its hilarious really Piccolo was much stronger than Gohan at that point yet Gohan's absolute peak with full Stamina was just an "all in" much stronger than anything the rest of the team could dish out. Had he goten an extra heal like Vegeta im sure he wouldve been about as strong as him when he faced Final form Freezer

Then lets just make him a good housewife and drain his power. (For those who don't remember, Toriyama wanted to end DBZ in cell Saga with Gohan as the protector of earth after his father's death, buuuut they didn't let that happen). I get the part that he was educated by her mother and had a good life. BUT STILL...You build up all this anger, you develop a character where he finally understands his power and lets himself go just to cut his wings. And decades later, well yeah he doesn't need to train: Grey longer hair and red eyes, there you go, now you are strong again. BULLSHIT.

And decades later, well yeah he doesn't need to train: Grey longer hair and red eyes, there you go, now you are strong again. BULLSHIT.
All of that was bc the japanese fans only wanted Goku and didnt want to accept Gohan so they nerfed him and then those same people proceed to trash Gohan bc they made him weak, you cant win with these people and now again they hate him bc of his beast mode
