- The Perfect Leg Press Checklist. Before you even start tilt that pad as far down as it goes. When it comes to feet height, forget about high placement for hamstrings and low for quads you want maximal range of motion and that happens when the feet are placed on the middle of the platform. Stance width, slightly outside hip-width apart. Also, make sure you grip the handles tight and pull yourself down before starting the lift. Finally, you want to go as deep as possible while keeping your feet and lower back flat on the surface and finish the movement by fully straightening the legs.
Don't fully straighten your legs you'll break your knees don't ever lock out on a leg press
I can understand your point but remember it’s hyperextension that’s the problem not straightening the leg
@@lean4ever_ I feel like most people who are new to the gym will assume that locking out the knees is what you meant by straightening them though. I used to roll my shoulders through on bench press at the top of the rep and injuries from stuff like that hurt like shit
I totally agree with these tips , nice to be able to roll out if failure ever happens,
Let me know what you think of my form I am trying to improve all criticism appreciated

@@lean4ever_ bro u need to be better at explaining cuz beginner watch u too 💀
If you know what your doing you can avoid injury with lockout, there is no actual benefit to doing that tho so idk why you would
Best leg press guide i got
thanks buddy
Any tips on how to reach it, so us shorter humans can actually use these machines. 😑😑😑
not really. machines aren't made for shorter people. well, you can get away with doing lying leg presses with a bar on a cable machine.
this is what I need to watch
Never lock out the legs. Keep them slightly bent. Youre welcome 🙏
Fully extending the leg at the finish position can hurt your knees right ? Why should we do that ?
Because straightening your knees with MANAGEABLE weight will also strengthen your bones and joints, which will decrease risk of injury. It's steroid users and ego lifters that must worry.
no. unless you have knee problems, or pressing heavier than you are capable of, it will not hurt your knees.
do you need to hold handle tight when doing exercise?
it is recommended
for beginners, yes.
You don’t have to go all the way deep down. As long as it’s 90 degrees it’s working the muscles
Generally speaking, longer range of motion produces greater hypertrophy within the target muscle
@@lean4ever_ no it doesn’t , it’s gonna be the same , if you go all the way to your chest your butt is most likely gonna lift up thus affecting your lower back. Going 90 degrees is already enough to stimulate hypertrophy in the quads lol.
@@realistically9091 that also happens with squats. Going all the way down is a waste of energy because you're gonna get the same results going 90 degrees
@@lean4ever_Thats very bad advise, leg press is different bro
@@lean4ever_ true. but not with the legs.
what about neck and head does it need to rested fully or up like yours confuses?
people who have their head raised and neck craned are pressing heavier than they're capable of
check out renaissance periodization for detailed explanation why everything she does is wrong.
Why set Seat to lowest?
what do you mean?
completely wrong
bad form! her knees spread out at the bottom. also. you do not let the plate go down as low as possible. that is bad for the hips and lower back. you stop when your knees are bent 90% or slight lower.
❤❤❤
I need sir
“Straighten your legs” 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
In Russian please
Not going nearly deep enough. Knees should be almost to the armpits
wrong! that is improper form
@Know-nx5yo called full stretch and going deep. Also don't reply to old YT comments anymore
Straighten your leggs😂😂😂😂😂
Nah u wont to injur your legs dont straighten your s
Legs fully
You shouldn't go deep when legs are coming towards chest, when bending the legs at maximum we ahould go for 90 degree.
